We stayed at the best western and so had breakfast with our stay. Breakfast buffet was open and a short menu of grab and go was also available. It was busy on a Sunday morning for breakfast but got seated and didn't have to wait too long. It was definitely crowded and didn't quite feel COVID safe. The food was fine and what we expected. Buffet included eggs, French toast, bacon, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, some fruit that wasn't fresh, hard boiled eggs, dry cereal and prob a few more things. They shouldn't bother offering a free breakfast. I don't know which place is the right one to review so I'm going to review the one with more reviews posted which is this one. There were no other restaurants around this area that were open as far as I could tell. I came here at the end of January so there were not too many people visiting Bryce Canyon National Park due to the snow. There was no line or wait when we came here. I ordered the Flat Iron Steak ($16.99) and added the Mushroom Topping for an additional $3.99 and ordered a soda that came with free refills ($2.49). Our waitress was nice and helpful when we asked questions about the menu. It felt like she was one of two waitresses covering the entire restaurant. Our food came after a few minutes and it looked good. However, when I started to eat the steak, I noticed that there wasn't a lot of flavor besides the meat flavor. It was like eating un-marinated meat or at least super lightly marinated meat. The mushroom topping didn't help either. The carrots were alright and the baked potato was good. I wouldn't say it was entirely bad and I guess I'm being nice which was why I gave this place 3 stars. read more

RUDE restaurant "managers" with immense power hunger and changing rules (e.g., we were told a $5 corkage fee, then no can do, then only if bought in store... etc.), craziness over busy periods (think 2 people had to come down physically to be permitted to get gross food in a box while lines were extreme... I visited in the off season (late November). I visited the restaurant for the breakfast buffet, two days in a row, and I arrived at 630 am, when it opened. The service was excellent and there was not a wait to be seated. The options for food in Bryce Canyon city are extremely limited, more so in the off season. With limited competition you get lower standards. Myself and my family were not impressed with the breakfast bufffet. The fruit on the buffet was good. Only one flavor of yogurt was offered. Good grief. We got there and said, "3 for breakfast." They said there was 5 minutes left to order breakfast and seated us at the table next to the bussing station. 4 minutes later a waiter arrived and asked what we'd like. 3 breakfasts please. There are only two breakfast choices: eggs with hash browns, toast, choice of bacon or sausage or a plate of pancakes. The food eventually arrived. The hash browns didn't taste good, nor were they anywhere close to crispy. My toast was burned. Butter was cold and hard. No jam. Sausage tasted terrible. Our server never came back. We were there on thanksgiving and had their thanksgiving special dinner. Turkey was not bad. But loved their stuffing and gravy. Tomato soup was to die for. The breakfast buffet has a lot of options: sausage, beacon, eggs, pancakes/toasts, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, coffee, orange juice, etc. the taste is good. For dinner/lunch, we tried the steak and ribs. I like them. The food is not expensive in general. In fact, I think their steak tastes better than some fancy overrated restaurants. The ribs are tender and the size is big too. Such a GRAND restaurant with lots of space for big groups, and intimate corners in the log-cabin style. It offers a variety of food for the different Buffets that they carry through out the day. Beautiful photographs of Bryce Canyon and other subject matters in glorious colors as well as BW are all over the restaurant. I seriously don't understand how Yelpers could have rated the entire Ruby's Inn, Restaurant and Resort so low. We are from Southern California and and avid travelers; we think this place deserves a 5star rating on this wintry day in Feb 2019. read more

Definitely surprised by the food here. We went on with extremely low expectations considering the reviews, but to our surprise it was not bad at all. My boyfriend and I decided to get the buffet option, which was about $25/Pp. The options included chicken, steak, a small Chinese section, traditional American sides, salad bar, and dessert. Bryce Canyon doesn't really have much options, but we were happy with our choice to come here to eat. Line wasn't very long as well, probably about a 20 minute wait. Early April and this is the only game in town... A town that Ruby built. Not unlike the Wild West, Ruby's Inn Restaurant is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ruby's Inn Inc. as is everything else in "Bryce Canyon City". Let's begin with the host station. Staffed by 3 people, an older gentleman asked us how many. Our response of 10 was met with, "Our biggest table seats 6." While my first instinct was to quip that we'd have to send 4 of the kids home hungry, my recent experiences with employees of Ruby's Inn Inc has taught me that my particular brand of humor is as welcome as a fart in church. I asked for a table for 6 for the kids and another 4 top for the adults. Our host offered 5 and 5 which I politely refused and repeated that a 6 and 4 would do. At this point a younger gentleman came to our rescue and invited us to follow him. Our server Cailee was a star. We had lots of questions about the buffet and ordering and she patiently answered our questions and offered many smiles, something we had thought might be against the rules for Ruby's employees. The buffet was pretty much as expected. With the exception of the salad bar and it's offerings of things like "spinish" and "cosla" it was your typical buffet of varying shades of brown and gravy. The dessert buffet reminded me of what's left over after a school potluck. The soft serve choices were actually pretty tasty with crushed toffee and Butterfingers to sprinkle on top. Here's the rub, an adult buffet was $22. It's outrageously expensive for the quality of food provided. I understand that the geography likely makes delivery of fresh food logistically difficult and a bit pricer but the prices really stung considering that there are really so few choices in the off season. I give the service 4 stars, the host staff 1 star, the food 2 stars for an average of 2.3 stars. There is absolutely no motivation for these businesses to provide anything other than the bare minimum of competence. The next town with open restaurants in the off season is 30 miles away. read more
