This place was highly recommended to us during our vacation and we just knew we had to give it a shot. We started off with the Fried Pickles and the Pretzel Bites. The Fried Pickles were amazing. The batter on them remained crispy and crunchy even halfway through our entrees. It was paired with this creamy horseradish-y sauce, and it worked so well. The pretzel was a bit on the saltier side for my liking but my fiance and his dad loved them! We all ordered steaks for dinner, because that's what they specialize in. If you're near Bryce Canyon and looking for a place to eat dinner , the Outlaw Saloon is a decent option -- especially since there aren't many places around this part of town. It's about a 25-minute drive out, so not super close. When we got there, I hesitated walking in at first because of a sign saying it's a bar, so I had to double-check we were in the right spot. Turns out, they do serve food, but since it's a bar, no one under 21 is allowed--just a heads up if you're traveling with kids. The menu has local meats from Kanab, and I went with the half rack of ribs. The fries came with a salad where you can add your own toppings -- huge portion and pretty tasty. The ribs were super tender and fell right off the bone. The fries were crispy, which was nice. My husband got the 12 oz ribeye with potatoes, and he got to add his own toppings too. The garlic roll was kinda meh--nothing special. The beer on tap was cold and refreshing, but my Pepsi was flat. Overall, it was a good meal with friendly service. If im ever in the area I would visit again . One thing that stood out to me was the worn out carpet tiles . The place is pretty big, and the tables were placed along the sides ( due to it being a bar first , I guess they need all the open space) -- a new floor update would make it feel much more inviting! I was really excited to have a solid steak after a day of adventuring. Unfortunately, the staff wasn't very attentive and the whole experience felt a bit chaotic. The atmosphere was okay, but it could have been better with friendlier staff. The salad bar was underwhelming. With so few options it didn't seem necessary to have a salad bar at all. We are from out of town and apparently when you walk into a bar in Utah, you have to wait at the door to get ID checked no matter what. This would have been just fine if we didn't get shouted at immediately upon entry. We had no idea this was the rule so we naturally sat down to grab our ID out of our pocket. We were shouted at again and told to go to the door. We got up and went to the door to wait. We would have walked out if it hadn't been the only place open in town. As soon as my daughter and I walked in the door my daughter was stopped abruptly and asked for her driver's license. Apparently no one is allowed in this bar under the age of 21. Along with the Ribeye, they have an option to Split-it which gives you an extra salad and backed potato. You make your salad at their salad bar along with the fixings for the potato. Inside it's huge with very few tables, a couple pool tables and an area where you can grill your steak. Decent selection of beers and limited menu heavy on meat. But if you are a vegetarian order a baked potato, like my friend did, this spud is giant. They also have a veggie burger. I got the half rack of ribs tasty and also quite big. They only had one waiter and he was very busy. But it seems like you have to be patient wherever you go these days. 3.5 stars After spending the day at Bryce National Park, The Outlaw Saloon filled our appetites. We ordered a couple ribeyes that we grilled ourselves. There's a variety of seasonings to choose from but I kept it simple with salt and pepper. This a fun feature but if you aren't interested in cooking yourself it can come prepared for an extra charge. The ribeyes hit the spot but our steaks had a lot gristly parts. I highly recommend paying a bit extra and getting the baked potato loaded. The steak dinner comes with a baked potato, side salad, and garlic roll. Garlic roll was a pleasant surprise. It tasted like a light garlic cloud. Make sure to wash your meal down with a local beer! Our server was pretty busy as it was the first day back open but she still did an excellent job checking in on us. A fun place to eat off the side of the road here, they have pool tables to play while you wait for your food. It's very much a do-it-yourself kind of place. We ordered a steak and some ribs to go, asked to have the steak cooked instead of doing it ourselves. The meals came with a baked potato, garlic rolls, and a salad, and both required self service to dress up the salad and baked potato. The salad section had carrots, beets, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers, and the baked potato had sour cream and cheese and butter. You could basically get as much as you wanted of those toppings. The salad to go box was very generously large, and the baked potato was also quite large. The meat we got was delicious and cooked well, although we asked for medium and they definitely cooked our steak rare. Annoyingly, they gave themselves a 20% tip for takeout, where we mostly did a lot of the packaging ourselves. They also forgot to give us the garlic rolls. We only realized after we got to our hotel and had to drive back to pick up, and instead of garlic rolls we received two generic bread rolls. Most places would've done something to cover the inconvenience of messing up (like a few extra rolls or something?), but this place wasn't interested in making up for their mistake in any way. (Honestly I can see why because the only people who come by are tourists and really, it's not like you have a ton of options out here in Hatch, so who cares if they're nice to customers?) Very bad experience. We chose this restaurant because it was the only one open until 10 which is one plus. However they were out of hamburgers, New York strips, 12 oz ribeyes (thankfully they did give me a 16 oz and charged me the 12 oz), fries, chicken and had 3 baked potatoes left (we had a party of 4). That is nearly their whole menu, it only left some appetizers, salads without meat, pulled pork or brisket sandwich and ribeyes. Also my husband wanted to add just an extra pulled pork sandwich to his meal, not the whole meal (since they only had a side salad as a side) and they said they could only charge the full price. They eventually offered him a free chocolate lava cake. The service was quite slow although there weren't a lot of customers. I don't understand how the restaurant can be so ill-prepared. I know it's rural but I don't think it's a new restaurant. I gave the restaurant 2 stars because the ribeye was quite good and my husband thought the pulled pork was as well, however my dad one really like the pulled pork and mom thought the brisket sandwich was just okay. Better call before you come in to make sure they have what you want! Also I want to note- I am not someone who gives low reviews often. I ordered the loaded baked potato and it was super delicious! I had not had such a delicious baked potato in a long time. It came with sour cream, bacon, and chives. For my meal I ordered the BBQ Chicken Sandwich and it was super good! It brought so much chicken and the chicken was diced chicken breast. Super good! Great location in Hatch on Highway 89, on the way to Bryce Canyon, with great employees. Sara and Chrissy were very welcoming and truly friendly! We were seated promptly and received our very cold drinks quickly. We were only there for a quick beer, but we're very happy to have indulged in the chips and queso. The queso had a little spice to it and was very good, There aren't many places in the area that serve alcohol, so to find one that does, has good service, and good food is a REAL treat. Toppings are generic, the salad and potato bar are the same, carrots, beets, sour cream, hard butter cubes, shredded cheese (I'm sure from a bag) cucumbers, red onion, tomatoes and croutons. Came here with my husband for a date night while staying in Duck Creek Village. It was 100% the best food and drinks we've had since we came. It's 21+ only so don't bring kids. We grilled our own steak and played pool. The food was so good. The chef came out multiple times and was super helpful as we grilled. The bartender was really kind too. Like most places, they are understaffed, but the service was great, the staff that was working was running their butts off! The asparagus and loaded potato were great with our Ribeye. The man working at the bar was extremely rude in throwing us out. He was also hard of hearing. We repeated several times asking politely whether we could order takeout. He said we could, but we had to take our kid outside. As we're leaving, he kept on yelling at us to get out. I get that this is an adult only sort of place, but at 9pm this is the only place we could get food after a long day in the canyon.
