The food is outstanding inexpensive and fresh, I stuck with the steak and chicken fajitas. The green salsa that they bring to the table is absolutely outstanding. 08/23/25 I went in with my family and the waitress was very rude from the beginning, she gave me one menu instead of two for the two adults there was and when it was time to order she was in a rush like if she had other tables to attend when the restaurant was not busy at all , she also didn't come and check on us if we were good and when we asked her for something she was bothered , also when she came with the food she slammed it on the table , i dont know if she was having a bad day , but even at that you dont be rude to the customer , it got to a point I didn't want to eat there. This is still one of my favorite late-night meals or when I just need a quick enchilada on the go meal. I love that I can call and place my order, but this time I actually did it online and that was even easier. It gave me the estimated time for when they would be ready. When I got there it was supposed to be a curbside service, but no one ever came out or answered the phone. So, I went inside to get my food and was able to get home in time and enjoy it. The food always stays hot and fresh. The enchiladas are always good with a nice cheese pull. The beans and rice are always so good. It's my second favorite type of soul food. read more

I've been here a few times for a quick breakfast with my friend, but after today I won't be returning. The main reason we would come here is because it's close by and the food is cheap. We came here today and the service was horrible. We were the only people in the restaurant and it took them 20 minutes to bring us the water we asked for. They had several people working that just ignored us while we waited. Then they brought us out our food and we had requested avocado and bacon on the side. The waitress said she would be right back with both and by the time she came out of the kitchen we were already almost done eating. So save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else. After this visit, I officially have broken up with Ruchi's. I used to love it but it has fallen off in the recent years. I ordered the tinga burrito and the meat was super tough and chewy. This food is extremely nasty, I came from California my cheese enchiladas always were great. The cheese inside these enchiladas was not melted the red sauce just tasted like tomatoes And not to mention the rice was like I was eating at a Chinese restaurant! This is Mexican by the way. So, I've upped my rating. Quite simply, there's no better value for your dollar if you want the Tex-Mex version of a greasy spoon. The BEST value is the simple beef fajita carbon taco. It's with the extra 60 cents and is cheaper than that Austin hipster place. The rest of the menu is solid as well. Enchiladas are what you expect from a place like this. For $5 you get a servicable margarita. The green salsa is fantastic and spicy. Nachos will hit the a lot as well. This is less like the movie 1917 and more like Grosse Point Blank. A waitress clearly just steps on my designer gym shoes and does not apologizes. She then acts as if I'm in the wrong and that I do not want to pay my tab. This restaurant is the most disrespectful and trashiest restaurant in Houston. I witnessed them serve alcohol to 15 minors repeatedly tonight which I understand now why the vibe was off. I took pictures after I noticed what was happening. The Restuarant has the credit card bills of these children to prove they are under age. Their parents nor legal chaperones were here. Clearly against the law to serve minors. I have never had a problem here in the past but tonight not 1 but 5 different waitresses disrespected me and acted as if I'm wrong in this situation. A clear apology and offer to wipe my shoe off would have been more than enough but it must be beneath them because I'm African American. read more

My experience here was very disappointing. It was my first time giving this place a try, and it was likely my last as well. The food was average. Chips and salsa were meh. I got a steak quesadilla, and it didn't look very appetizing. The flavor was okay, but presentation left a lot to be desired. Our waitress, Andrea, was very unprofessional. Either she was new, or she just didn't care about making sure we got what we ordered in a timely manner. Her entire attitude was just "couldn't care less". My friends and I waited a long time to be served. After we got our food, we never saw our waitress again. Not even to get our waters refilled. We had to tell another waitress that we were ready for our checks. I'm giving the experience two stars instead of one because I enjoyed the horchata. Looked for the closest Mexican food to Walmart and this place popped up. Small but decent sized parking and not busy on a Friday during lunch. I liked the chips. Thin type. Comes with green and red sauce. I liked the green more. I asked for a refill but they only gave me chips and no sauce which kinda sucked. They only refilled my water once too. And it was empty for a while. So the service wasn't the best. I brought the leftover chips home but in a couple hours only they were already chewy. The queso with sausage was coagulates really quick. It comes with 3 flour or corn tortillas. I guess you're supposed to put the coagulated cheese on it because the chips will break if you try to dip it when it's coagulated. Which takes only a few minutes. I don't recommend it for that reason primarily. Also the Gordita torta shell is corn. And it's thick. I don't like corn to being with. So this made that dish even more unbearable for me anyway. read more

We came in after a show around 1130pm. We ordered mixed fajitas Parillada #1 with corn and flour tortillas. They brought it out to the wrong table where the table infront of us was picking at it with their forks and almost eating it until the waitress came up and said.. "this is not yours." WEIRD. Then they took it to the side and brought it right back to us.. not cool. Those people had their spoons and forks all up in our food! We asked to take it back for something else but made us skeevy. The only great thing I would say about this visit was the tortillas. Other than that.. I am good to never return. So sad because in my clubbing days this place used to be our GO TO! I was very excited to try Ruchi's today however upon arrival was met with the worse customer service experience. Ana took three Togo orders and the experience was extremely poor. She was rude, dismissive and had an apparent attitude towards my friends and I. She was dishonest on several accounts when asking about menu availability and pricing. She blatantly over charged for for menu items that were clearly listed on the menu at a different price. I asked why she was being so rude and if she had an issue she SPAT back 'DO YOU HAVE AN ISSUE' ! So extremely unprofessional. I asked for the manager she told me to come back next week to see the manager. The food was subpar or atleast the food we received with regards to quality and portion. The meat was flavorless and chewy. Overall the experience could have been decent/been better if the customer service was good. If the food was atleast good it would've been worth the hassle however the food was just as bad as her attitude.. Her rudeness really made our experience bad. I will be calling the manager to leave additional feedback. read more

unfortunately, will be the first and last time I order from this place. I had ordered some wings, t bone steak and tacos. Everything I had, made my stomach turn. The wings tasted frozen and the steak was BOILED and had an awful after taste. The tacos were fairly decent, the only item I seemed to have enjoyed were the fries. I had to toss out most of my food because of how dissatisfied the entire meals were. I have tried to call and email and no response. I have never ever felt this way towards any restaurant ever. For people coming in from out of town; this is a Houston standard. Very accommodating staff that is really trying hard to make sure they get you what you ordered. If it comes out from the kitchen wrong, it is probably your fault. It is not a complicated menu, and the dishes are prepared correctly. And the music is always appropriate and awesome. Is it a Michelin star restaurant? No. But that is not what Houston is about. We like restaurants like Chili's, Applebee's, Chik-Fil-A, Whataburger, and Cane's. If you look at all the Ruchi locations around town it is fair to say we like Ruchi's also. Those of you leaving less than 5 stars on your review came in with the wrong mindset. Massive menu, open 24 hours, and always good service. The complimentary chips and green sauce aren't always consistent. Sometimes chips are cut really thick or stale. Green sauce is sometimes too spicy. Fajita quesadilla with "salad" ($9.99): salad is basically lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole. You can never go wrong with the beef fajita quesadillas. Always cheesy and lots of meat. Although, I think it has gotten smaller over the years. 4/5 Pollo taco ($2.29 for corn tortilla. Costs more for flour tortilla): chicken taco. You get the choice of shredded chicken or chicken breast. We always get shredded. They dress it with lettuce and a tomato slice on top. 5/5 Al pastor taco ($2.29): pork taco. It's flavorful and tasty. One of my favorite tacos here! But beware, it's fatty. Dressed with cilantro and onions. 5/5 Cama taco ($2.99): grilled shrimp taco. Another one of my favorites. They load that taco with a lot of shrimp. I usually take 2-3 shrimps out so I can close my taco. Dressed with cilantro and onions. 5/5 I usually need at least 2 tacos to get full. Mmm looking forward to my next visit. :) read more
