I'm stopped by this restaurant to check out the food and atmosphere. The furniture is a bit dated BUT in good condition! Actually, the more I think about this more, I think it's more ethically correct for the restaurant. The service was very good. I chose my table and the waitress was over pronto. My waitress Belkis was attentive and helpful regarding the menu. I was disappointed they did not have a botany ( sampler plate). Some Mexican restaurants have this offer allowing customers to sample a variety of their dishes in one sitting. The skinny margarita with salt was pretty good. I have to confess the green salsa start to burn my mouth interfering with my finer taste buds. The shrimp Diablo was good I returned the avocado because it had spots that I think were spoiled. The waitress replaced the avocado slices with fresh ones. They were great with the shrimp! I also ordered the queso with beef. They used beef fajita in a dish, which was good however, I think had to use regular ground beef. It would've been better. The food was good, and the service was excellent! A late night dinner with coworkers. We were immediately greeted by the server and seated. The best thing was the food So I'll be back soon. The sausage, beef and refried beans were delicious but the tortillas were so good I could eat them alone and just enjoy. The place was clean and looked like a nice authentic Mexican restaurant. Not located in the best area of town. Had a homeless person on sidewalk by the entrance that mgr had to run off..think he actually ended up going to bathroom on sidewalk. With that said inside was nice and clean and staffed well. We got our drinks and chips right away and server kept checking on us. Group of 4 and place was somewhat busy but service was really good Ordered Pozole, Menudo and birra tacos and a shrimp dish. All food was hot and fresh and tasted really good. The only thing I will give a bad review is the elote. It was boiled and must of sat in water to long so it was mushy and water logged. Corn can be boiled but removed right away then put on grill and get some char on it for flavor Also no lime added to the mayo and no chile on the outside. Very mild and bland. Ruchi's Mexican Grill absolutely delivered on flavor and satisfaction with my recent to-go order!!! I had the Burrito Supreme with mixed chicken and steak and WOW. The filling was perfectly seasoned, generous, and packed with that bold, crave-worthy flavor you'd expect from a place that knows what it's doing. My only critique? The tortilla. It wasn't quite cooked through, so it started falling apart as I ate, which was a bit messy. That said, the taste was still on point, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. If that tortilla had been grilled just right... I mean, we'd be talking next level legendary. Endless possibilities! The shrimp tacos were a definite standout, juicy, fresh, and full of flavor. The chicken tacos were decent, though not as memorable. The side of beans ewww. Even though it was a to-go order, the service was fast and friendly, and the vibe inside was warm and inviting. Service is okay. If they get even a little busy they kind of forget about you. Overall food was good for very late night eating when you're in a pinch and want Mexican. Large portions, tons of tortillas. The elote was my favorite. Also the soups were very soothing on a cold night. Pleasantly surprised that this place was not far from me! Loved the flour tortilla with my taco. It tasted very fresh. I ordered the barbacoa and pierna taco. The barbacoa was super juicy and delicious. The pierna was kind of dry, but I've never had this type of taco so I wasn't sure what to expect. We also had chips and salsa which came with the meals and I ordered a strawberry margarita, which was great! The servers were attentive and there was a very relaxed vibe. Wow. We have been here 2 days and already have been here 2 times! The fresh chips and salsas (2 kinds: red/orange and avocado) are AMAZING. First night we got chile relleno plate and a mixed plate (cheese enchilada, chicken enchilada and beef taco). Fantastic! Soooo fast and soooo delicious! Friendly service and so reasonably priced! Then we went again for breakfast. He got a beef gordita and I got huevos ala mexicana (jalapenos, tomatoes and onion scramble with potatoes and beans). Can't wait to go back and try more things! The pancakes are nice and fluffy and came with warm melted butter and maple syrup. My bf ordered juevos con tocino y papas y frijoles. Both orders were delicious and you can't beat the price point. Well here I am in Richie's. What an experience. There are no less than 30 tables. There are 10 tables occupied. A total of 16 people. Yet the staff ever so pleasant, rode me like the old gray mare. I asked for time to enjoy myself. Not once but three times. However that was not to be. I ordered a plate of tacos. In less that 2 minutes they arrived. I then asked pico de gallo. Nada!!! We came in for a late dinner on a Tuesday and it was pretty much empty so we just sat wherever. The staff here are pretty fast at getting menus, getting drinks, getting the free chips and salsa, etc. We got the two tacos on flour tortillas for about $3.50 each. Both meats were a little dry so I had to use the salsa that came with the chips to make it easier to swallow. But the taste was pretty good overall. We also got the beef fajita quesadilla grande for $11. There was a LOT of meat inside, but the guac that comes with it is subpar. This quesadilla plus the free chips and guac are enough to make a hungry person full. I would come back if I was craving tacos late night since this place opens until pretty late. It was just plain something that you find off the corner of a truck. We would've done better going to Taco Bell or taco cabana. We're a big fan of Ruthie's on westheimer and we started going to this one on the corner of south main and 610 fwy . First time was good second time maybe a 8 but today was horrible, my wife's rice and beans were cold ,I thought maybe she was over reacting because she likes her food burning hot but she wasn't because the table across from us sent their food back because it was cold and it wasn't beans or rice , no apologies just took the food back grudgingly .
