    $12.95.....

Open the bag to discover this is what they have tried to pass off as $12.95 portion of soup. Do add to this the salsa cup have shrunk and they said no to the stupid little bag of chips...it cost extra they said. Meanwhile knowing they are robbing me with the soup!!!

So we were in Solvang, drooling over bratwurst , pretzels, and sweets when BigMike says, "How about tacos?" So off to Rudy's we go. It was sooooooo good! I had the tres amigos burrito! Chicken, steak and shrimp! Avocado, rice, and beans! It's delicious! It was moist and flavorful and the shrimp were big. Warning the green salsa is a bit spicy. I'm a wimp so there's that. Miguel had the enchiladas suiza which were presented beautifully and tasted amazing. BigMike, you remember him, the guy who wanted tacos? He had the chicken chimichanga and it was fabulous. All portions were huge, totally filling. We are camping nearby and have the dogs with us. The service was so lovely. Even with the dogs they brought our food outside. Super friendly. My Spanish isn't always perfect so when enchiladas suiza got ordered as enchiladas sucias, they laughed just the right amount. lol. Like I get it, we were sitting outside in a parking lot, but it was so chill and friendly. Inside was quiet and enjoyable as well. Don't let this little place escape you, well worth the time for a big ass burrito.

As a first-time customer this restaurant did not make a good first impression. The place was busy (just one booth available) so we stood at the counter waiting to get a seat. The girl finished ringing up the customer in front of us, took an order over the phone & then proceeded to help the lady who came in after us. I asked if we could sit down & was completely ignored. I repeated myself then she finally told me I had to order first. There's nothing to indicate you need to order first, so we were not off to a good start. We hastily looked over the menu & ordered, as it was getting busier. I did something I rarely do, I didn't tip her anything. There is a salsa bar but no chips (I guess those are extra?). Our food arrived quickly and was quite good. We had the chicken enchiladas verde & combo burrito. The burrito is dry(no sauce) & comes with a small amount of lettuce & tomatoes. The chicken was amble, moist & very tasty. It's a shame the service wasn't as good as the food.

Came here to try the crispy taco. It was a Tuesday and the tacos were $3.50. The chicken crispy taco was pretty big with a lot of lettuce and cheese. The flavor was decent. Also got a soft taco which was much smaller and bland, tortillas not homemade. Was going to get a potato taco but it didn't come with sour cream, so passed on that. They brought tortilla chips to the table but no salsa. Order at counter and food is brought to you. Ambiance was fine. Located next to Albertson's with plenty of parking.

Either that or I got the wrong staff on a Thursday afternoon. My order: 1ea of a fish and shrimp taco, chips and guacamole, model especial. The Good: nothing beats a cold modelo after a round of golf at Zaca Creek GC with family. I got a variety of their salsas from the salsa bar and they were all very good. The Bad: everything else. The breaded fish and shrimp were just that, breading. Whatever was inside perpetrating sea food was nonexistent and fried to oblivion. I didn't finish either. The Ugly: chips and guacamole were a complete disaster. The texture was loose, liquidy, and bland. It was most likely store bought. The chips were the worst thing I ate, and that's saying something. There were 2 types in the basket; stale and ridiculously stale. I believe that they reuse chips as the lighter of the two looked and tasted like they had been out for a couple of days while the darker ones were made maybe a day before. I don't complain in the moment as the last thing I want is a remade version of that garbage made by an angry cook. However, while walking the meal back inside to put it where it belonged, the employee asked if I had an issue with the chips. I told her they were extremely stale and got an apology. Good enough earning the 1-star. Overall: now that I'm writing this, we were one of the first customers of the day and maybe they weren't ready and cut corners to get caught up. Not excusing it but trying to find anything redeeming about the experience. Safe to say that I will only go back for the modelo.

After looking through photos and reviews, I decided to give Burrito Lalo a try. It was only about 1.4 miles away, right off McMurray. I ordered the menudo to-go and decided to go without "pata" (pig's feet), along with a bottled Coke. My order was ready in about 5 minutes, which was impressive. The young lady who helped me was friendly and packed everything nicely in a cardboard box, including all the fixings and a bag of chips. I have to admit, the menudo was very good! The broth tasted clean, flavorful, and delicious. My only reason for giving it 4 stars is that I would have preferred a little more hominy to balance everything out. There were also plenty of large chunks of tripe. Depending on how you like your menudo, that could be a positive or negative. Personally, I prefer my tripe cut into smaller pieces. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend Burrito Lalo to anyone looking for a good bowl of menudo in Buellton. My only advice is to make sure you tell them exactly how you like your menudo, especially the size and amount of tripe and hominy. That part was my mistake for not asking. Either way, the menudo was delicious, and I would definitely give Burrito Lalo another try the next time I'm in the area!

The food took a little while to come out, but it was definitely worth the wait. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and full of authentic Mexican flavor. You can tell care went into the dishes. The only thing to keep in mind is the portion size it's a bit small for a Latin restaurant, especially at around $20 per plate. Still, the quality makes up for it. Customer service was okay. Since you pay before eating, they didn't really come by our table to check in, which felt a bit impersonal. The place is very quiet, nice decor. Overall, I'd recommend it just know the portions are on the smaller side!

It didn't have a public restroom. I decided to give it a chance. I'm really not sure what made this location a five star win. I ordered two jalapeno and cheese pupusas. I thought it was quite generous yet somewhat deceitful of the establishment to add 2 single papusas with a plate of rice and beans with the cabbage like sauce that's provided to go along with the papusas. I also ordered a chicken burrito along with the sparkling water. Through my reviews, it's obvious that mexican food is my go to dish. So I'm being quite fair when I say, it's a three star rating for me. The food alone came up to $29.90 and a sparkling water cost me $3.81. So from the total, I figured the food must be pretty good. However, the food was quite salty. The pupusas appeared to be prepared in a very sloppy way. I'm assuming those who dine in recieve better treatment according to the pictures featured in the reviews of others. Also I never experienced a freshly cooked burrito that's wrapped up in foil become soggy within minutes. Most Spanish restaurants ask you what you want on your burrito and if there is anything you don't want. I didn't get this treatment from this particular location and the burrito became soggy even faster because they put guacamole in it. I ended up throwing it away. That was a total waste of $30.

This is not the case at Dos Carlitos in Santa Ines! Yes, my kids split the order of nachos, but the ratio of black beans, tomatoes, and guacamole to cheese made this mother happy. The vegetable tostada was loaded with grilled vegetables and the freshly-made tortillas were incredible! Finally, the cheese enchiladas (we're creatures of habit) were freshly cooked, with more of those in-house tortillas, and they were, according to my husband, some of the most delicious that he's had in a long time. Service was courteous and prompt, and we were greeted by the host in a very pleasant manner. I have to give a shout-out to our busboy, who was fantastic, ready with water or chip refills before we even thought to ask (whatever his name was, he was working Thursday, July 23 at noon). You can't go wrong with whatever you choose, but I recommend the avocado salsa. My friend and I swapped a taco from each of our plates, so I was able to try their tacos al pastor and tacos del mar with halibut. The al pastor was particularly flavorful and well marinated, and to my surprise, I enjoyed the pineapple bits in the taco. The halibut tasted fresh and the chipotle sauce on top paired nicely.
