OMG the reviews were true! HORIBBLE everything! I like almost any pizza in the world. So do my 2 kids (11 and 15 years of age.) Can't go wrong right? We decide for the buffet. We're not huge salad eaters but had a small one because the fried chicken was out, the 2 pizza pans were almost empty (only remaining pieces are the ones no one takes because they have no cheese or toppings - like corners.) We waited and waited and waited. Finally I asked one of the employees behind the buffet if there was gonna be any chicken or pizza soon (as it had been approx 15 mins.) On tray of pizza finally came and the entire dining area was watching and literally got up and speed walked there to some. By the time myself and my 2 children got up there, guess what was left? The pieces no one wants with nothing on them! Still no chicken. Pasta was pasty as can be like it had been there for an hour or more. But tried that since there was nothing else. Horrid! Garlic bread? Hard as a rock. Then the icing. After receiving hardly anything to eat after 1hr and 15 mins, we're going to leave. I will pay for the soft drinks we had but nothing more. Before I could even communicate this, the bill was dropped off at our table. $44.58 was the amount. I almost passed out. They made me pay. Guess it's my fault for not arguing further. Big sign outside lunch buffet $6.99. We get inside and the lunch buffet is $8.49. Take down the billboard outside. The buffet was empty asked for the shell salad oh that will take at least 20 minutes it never was there after our whole lunch. First time to Rulli's. I had driven by many times. Big menu. Good service. Food was a disappointment. Nothing tasted homemade. Broccoli cheddar soup tasted like it was out of a can. I ordered Chicken Fettucine Alfredo. I had asked the waitress if their Alfredo sauce was a rich Alfredo or if it was simply a white sauce. She told me the sauces were different. When I got my food, it was not fettucine noodles, but linguine. The chicken had the texture of canned chicken. Not grilled, but more like squared off pieces of boiled chicken. The Alfredo sauce had no flavor. The waitress came back to ask about our food. I told her I was disappointed. She offered to bring me something else. I told her I would try the cheese ravioli but with red sauce instead of white. She brought me a 1/2 order, saying that since I had eaten a small amount of the other dish, she brought only 3 ravs. Ravs were definitely frozen, not homemade. She then offered some red sauce to put on the fettuccine and asked if I wanted a take-out box. I had eaten 2 of the 3 raviolis and probably 10% of the fettucine, but I had picked out all the chicken because it was terrible. The waitress brought me a box and the check. She had charged me for two full dinners!!!! I told her that I wasn't going to pay for two dinners. She said "well, you ate a little of both, and you said yes to my offer of a takeout box, so I have to charge you for both." Are you kidding me? My husband's sub was also disappointing. I insisted that since I didn't even eat one full dinner because the quality was poor, I would only pay for 1. I am torn on how to review. Food was good. Service was crap. Upon entry there was an evening special posted. I asked about it. Girl was stumped. "Today is my third day so I don't really know." Ok. Fair enough. Asked our waitress and it was her second day and had no idea. Could not find wine menu. As we saw other people being waited on we asked about bread. Finally got our check and were to pay waitress who after 10 minutes had not returned. We left it with another employee. Staying at the Hampton Inn was told Rulli's delivers Pizza. We were told it would be delivered between 5:30-5:45. I called at 5:55 they said it was on the way. The pizza came at 6:15. The quality of the pizza was not good, dough was under cooked, lots of sauce and way too much cheese for the amount of other toppings. We ordered a supreme pizza. Even though I told them twice I was at the Hampton Inn, Middlebury they called and asked for my address. Being from out of town I didn't know the exact address but I was staying at the hotel which they responded "we know where that is". On a positive their plain breadsticks were very good as well as the salad. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. The "Italian food" is terrible. Worse than Chef-boy-arde! No flavor, no seasoning, just bad sauce. Had dinner with my family at the Middlebury Rullis. Kids ordered from the kids menu. They loved getting their own personal pizza. I ordered lasagna and got a trip to the salad bar. I loved their Italian dressing. The lasagna was delicious. My husband ordered the Picante pasta. He loved his pasta too. We were served fresh bread with a dipping oil. The server was very sweet and made us feel special. We got great service and loved the food.we will definitely be back! read more

I was at a wedding this past weekend that Rullis catered and I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome the food was. Some of the best catered wedding food I have ever had at a wedding. Everything was so fresh and full of flavor! Not to mention the staff was very helpful, attentive and professional. I heard many other wedding goers from the night raving about how good their food was. I definitely recommend having Rullis cater your next event! You will not be disappointed. Absolutely the worst service I have ever received. The waitress said that she was new. If in fact this is the case then why was she working alone or atleast someone training her. We waited over 25 minutes after asking twice for just bread. Then when we did receive or orders the food was cold. Wonderful service and great food. My wife and I enjoyed our entrees, she had lasagna with artichoke hearts added and I had a sampler of several pasta dishes. Everything was wonderful. It's been a long time since I've been this disappointed in a restaurant. We ordered an appetizer and it came after our food, we ordered the kids ravioli and it was 3 ravioli's floating in a tasteless white sauce, my carbonara was tasteless....I'm not even sure it could pass for carbonara. We got a trip to the salad bar with our entrees and I have never seen such a sad looking salad bar...just a tray with lettuce with a few peppers and olives thrown in....that's not a salad bar. Our waitress was nice but sadly just not very good. We waited 15 between her coming to check on us so never had any drinks and our friend needed extra salad dressing and we were all done eating by the time she got it because the waitress took so long to come back. We asked for to go boxes and after 10 minutes another waitress went and got them for us. I will say that my son's pizza was good but that was the only thing that passes as a good at the table. Good service, the french onion soup was great, my salad fresh, and cannoli for desert was very good. We really liked that they treated our little Pomeranian so nice. Okay, I gave them a second chance, and they blew it again. Twice while in town ordered pizza to be delivered. First time, they wouldn't deliver because it was snowing. No problem, I made it there and picked up. Guy that rung me up couldn't even muster a "thanks"...gave them that second chance tonight, delivery to my hotel. Ordered on-line, took an hour to get here, pizza was cold, and crust was thick, not thin as I ordered. They're two freakin' miles away, took an hour for cold pizza. Never again. I normally don't have too many issues but today I'm irritated. I ordered a pizza carry out and they told me it would be a half hour. When I came in the door it took them 10 minutes before anyone would even talk to me. Just a bunch of kids staring at me and continuing to talk without acknowledging the fact that I was there. Then when someone finally did talk to me they said my pizza had just been put in even though it was over half an hour later. Now sitting here waiting for what is almost an hour total for one pizza I get to listen to their colorful conversations which include a few cuss words and watching them continue to handle food no gloves after wiping stuff off their clothes and playing with their cell phones. Then come to find out my pizza had been sitting there done and no one bothered to tell me until finally some girl asked what I was waiting on and apologized because no one told her. Bottom line is if you are going to have teenagers running your carryout you may want to have someone that knows what they are doing that can help them act professional and get stuff done the are supposed to and teach them customer service instead of messing around taking about stuff that I don't care to hear while watching them prepare food with dirty hands. Just out of curiosity I had to read a few reviews. Can't believe some of them were written about the restaurant we had just had visited. Our meal was awesome!!! Normally we stop in for lunch buffet on a Saturday, but today (Sun,) was a spur of the moment decision. As usual the choices were excellent and the food delicious. Our waitress, Michele, was very polite. friendly, and attentive to our needs. Since it was a Sunday we were not recognized as a regular customer. Way to go Rulli's for being such a great place to dine ANY day of the week!!! read more

I do not care for this Resturant at all. The service was awful. They messed up our order and when we told the waitress our order was not correct she just looked at me and told me she "put my order in right". We had to flag her down to get a water refill. We had to ask a host to get the bread and oil we asked for 15 minutes prior. The host was apologized for the waitress and grabbed the bread and oil for us quickly. The waitress in the end did give us a discount for the pizza we did not eat due to it not being made properly. She visited our table a total of 2 times in the two hours we were there , mind you they were not busy at the time of our visit. The menu was very over priced for some very average food. I would not have minded the mess up at all if our waitress would have fixed it and been polite about the situation. She was very rude and defensive the whole time we were there and stopped waiting on us when I brought up a problem with our food. read more

First off I am not a person who lives in the this area but wanted to find a local restaurant in the area that was open on a Sunday and with saying that, if you are tourist or anybody in general, it would be best if you skipped this restaurant, period. Interior is blah and is dated. Service is subpar, waiting times were longer than expected even with a half empty restaurant. Food was the worst part though. With an entree you get one trip to the salad bar and one bowl of soup. Let's start off with the salad. This was probably the best part. No big complaints other than there were no croutons. Soup (minestrone) was bland and was loaded with grease. Now comes the worst part, the entree. I ordered the southern Italian classics which came with lasagne, stuffed chicken breast, pasta, and spaghetti. The lasagne, pasta, and chicken was covered in greasy cheese and tasted terrible. Lasagne noodles tasted tough and were hard to cut. The pasta also was tough. Everything was greasy still once you got past the cheese. The spaghetti was probably the best part since it wasn't as greasy. Customer service was also poor, when confronted with with the greasy, nasty plate, we were given an "oh, sorry!", but weren't asked if we wanted to talk with a manager, or were we able to find a manager or person higher up.
