As a family visiting the area we stopped in to this joint on 7/17/23. Stopped in for a beer and a glass of wine. Ordered at the bar where the bartender was old, crotchety, and an absolute a..hole. Rude and actually made reference to my darling 28 year for being a teen pregnancy. He needs to be fired. He needs to keep his mouth shut. The hostess was also on a rude roll. Empty tables inside with not one waiting yet we were not allowed to sit inside. We were made to sit outside because she said that there was a wait for inside. The tables were never filled. We left and will never return. We will also make sure to pass along the level of customer service to any one wanting to visit Baytown. Skip this place. read more

My wife and I came here for the first time and they recommended there best sellers! rum runners Caribbean feature and the jerk chicken. The jerk chicken wasn't even close to the original jerk chicken, the chicken was dry with no glaze on it, and the sides were horrible the mash potato looked like they just grabbed a potato smashed it and bam ready! The veggies on both plates tasted like the frozen bags I get at the store and they microwave it! It tasted bland and really soggy! The salmon was dry & not even seasoned! rice was very crunchy! Our disappointed started with our phone call asking how long was the wait for dinner. The guy on the phone yelled at me. Whenever we're in the Destin area, we end up here for some entertainment. It's pretty much your average dueling piano bar except there are more tiki-type drinks here to match the theme. It's located in a private area where you have to go past a booth and let them know you're there to visit, which is kind of odd, but there's never a problem. It's a touristy area with restaurants and shops around and a few bars as well. It's not that this one is particularly outstanding, it's just somehow become a family tradition of sorts because who doesn't want to be entertained by karaoke type music? The service was great the waitress was super friendly and fast.I had the ahi tuna and it was incredible! Was seasoned with peppers on the side and the plate was decorated with soy sauce and a spicy sauce. The seaweed salad underneath was so yummy as well.My mom ordered the mahi mahi burger grilled and again that's another must! It's essentially a spot frequented with people who aren't really living in the country side, but have a great appreciation of country folks by driving through countryside in a Mercedes C class, blasting Luke Bryan inside the car and eating biscuits. Gosh, have some of the folks writing the extremely negative reviews on this page been bitten by a rabid raccoon while visiting this establishment? ...that's one of the handful of reasons I can think of describing it as two hours of life they'll never get back. Anyways, here are my thoughts: Style: Southern beach classic. Music: Country and oldies pop. Food: Decent. Nothing extraordinary, the breaded crawfish tails were fine with beer. Service: Good, fast and easy. Fun: sure, if you are into this scene. You should come here if you want mixed drinks and spend the night enjoying yourself in Sandestin. It's as southern fun as it gets, somewhat touristy, but dueling pianos are awesome. The drinks were good but Kelsey, our waitress was horrible. She asked us if we wanted anything ONCE, brought our drinks, then our checks and practically tried to kick us out. Nothing compared to real piano bars like Pat O'Brien in New Orleans. The drinks were ok, and the piano playing was carnival quality at best. I guess it was OK for a tourists stop, but the piano player with the beard was a D-Bag. It was if he got off calling people out over his loud microphone. No, it wasn't me he went after either. But you don't have to stop playing and tell two ladies who are obvious friends not to dance during Covid over the microphone and give them a lecture. Great place ! Had a great time Tuesday night - our first night in town. Tonight we walked in, told the guy at the door we were just drinking and sat down at a high top table - bar and rail was full. Ordered drinks from our waitress based on her recommendation and we were enjoying the atmosphere waiting for our drinks ! Horrible service. Me and some friends were wanting to go out for some drinks and we are well over 21 and all three of us were denied. We asked to speak to the manager and to ask if the police could verify our IDs and we were told "I can't hear you". Extremely unprofessional and embarrassing as an establishment. Didn't even get into the place before the bouncer was an a hole about ID's even though we were a group of 8 people all over 21 deciding if we wanted to go inside. In town visiting my boyfriend for his birthday, we decided to come to baytown warf at about 9pm (its Friday night) and saw that Rum Runner had mixed reviews but it looked fun and wanted to give it a try. As a server myself (in downtown San Diego might I add) I was appalled at the fact that not only was the security guard ON HIS PHONE, he didn't say hello, he was very gruff (okay, security guards are supposed to be) when I asked if the kitchen was still open, I handed him my ID because I am freshly 21 but look 12, he barely glanced at it because whatever he was doing on his phone was far more important. We decided we weren't even going to give them our business, because God forbid something happens (in a packed bar during Labor Day weekend) he wouldn't step in because he was far too invested in what he was doing on his phone then doing his job. read more

The one star is for entertainment only. Waitstaff is rude and doesn't explain anything. They barely come by the table. When asking for help at the bar they just point to your waitress and say to ask her. Management just blames it on her having a bad day. Terrible service. Terrible attitudes. Rum runners is a fun spot to have drinks and listen to music. The food is basically bar food, and it is OK. Pricing is what you would expect from a tourist establishment. Entertainment was great! Food just okay. My daughter and I both got chicken sandwiches. Hers came with a generous amount of chicken and mine had a tiny little piece. When I pointed it out, the waiter said he asked for more but he didn't know how long it would take. At least my daughter had a good meal. And the waiter was great! read more

Everyone else on the staff besides this one female were amazing from security to manager but she was not. Awesome place! The food came out fast. Ordered the chicken with mango sauce and vegetable and it was delicious and a bus portion. My daughter ordered a cesar salad with shrimp and was very pleased. I like this bar to hang out once in awhile, Very interesting crowds for sure, A 50 y.o southern accent guy who'd stares me whole night long to 20 y.o happy gay guy from DC Lol. I actually don't mind these diverse crowds and have fun everytime I go there. The pianists/singers are amazing and yes, they do announce the tip and play it first when the tip is bigger than the others. Well, I don't blame them to do that since I've seen many times some drunk guys came up to the singer and gave so little tip(1,2 bucks) and yelled his ear "play it right now !!!!" Of course, the singer was having tons of requests too by then. So why don't we just get over this.....? The servers and bartenders are very kind and they were checking on us at least every 15 mins when we were sitting far away from the bar. So, yeah my thumbs are up !!! read more

The absolute WORST restaurant I have ever experienced. Not only did it take over an hour after ordering for our food for it to come out, but it came out COLDER than room temp. We had to take a shuttle to get there as the parking lot was full (it's in a gated community full of activities) and the initial shuttle boarding was confusing but once there it was a very nice evening. The wings were the best my son ever had. The steak was good, the kid pasta was yucky per my 9 year old and I really enjoyed my lobster ravioli, just a little overboard on the sauce. The waitress was slow as a snail but she was busy, always saw her working but not a lot of table attention. Two hours of my life I'll never get back. This place was terrible. We were sat pretty quickly - and that was that. After about 20 minutes I had to go ask the hostess if she could let our server know she'd been sat. After about 10 more minutes the waitress who had evidently drawn the short straw showed up. We would have left, but everywhere else had a huge waiting list by this point, although this place wasn't that busy - which should have been a red flag. We ordered drinks and food at once because we'd had ample time to look at the menu and we had two hungry babies. About 45 minutes later we got our edible but lackluster food, which we wolfed down because we were starving by then. Once the waitress returned we tried to tab out and get the hell out of dodge as quickly as possible. We were not the only people having that dining experience. The restaurant was full of hungry angry looking people and yet there seemed to be no stream of food flowing from the kitchen and the front of the house staff was running around like chickens with their head's cut off, although, again, they weren't that busy. The service was excellent, A+ for entertainment and the drinks But my char grilled chicken entree was just terrible. The chicken was Dry and the entire plate was bland as bland could be. Even the mashed potato was dry and veggies were just bland. I had to sprinkle a large amount of salt and pepper and it left me wishing I had ordered a different plate. My husband enjoyed his Mahi-mahi so it was probably just a poor choice on my part for picking a dry and bland plate. read more

The one man "I can play anything" guy was just getting started when we arrived in the early evening (6ish), he was good, a lot of fun and truly did play all the songs we requested or at least a piece of a song like Eddie Murphy's Party All The Time-yes, we tried to stump him :) I guess he's the warm up for the dueling piano show, which we didn't stick around to see. We had a 3 year old with us and you could tell the vibe was starting to change as the night went on, not in a bad way just not for a youngster. We went early, around 515 to escape the oppressive July heat and also beat the rowdy crowd because we had our 3 year old in tow. Our waitress Jody was an ANGEL. THE best waitress I've had in a long time. She climbed under our table to fix a leg when she noticed a wobble. She brought my daughter a bowl of cherries and crackers when we told her she was starving. If not for her helpfulness and attentiveness this would be a 2 star review. Management: treat her well and keep her happy. She saved you. The Rum Runner: what they're famous for. It was tasty but very sweet. There are about 4 liquors listed on the ingredients list but don't think that means 4 shots. It wasn't "weak" but definitely was weaker than most other cocktails I've had on this trip. It was good but I wouldn't order it again. Grilled, blackened Mahi Mahi: The seasoning was spot on. The texture was telltale frozen and/or just overcooked. Grouper sandwich: my husband ordered this and it was awesome. It seemed fresh and was the best thing we had there. Rice: everyone makes mistakes, so I wasn't too angry when I took my first bite of rice and almost broke my crown. It was hard and not even close to being done. Jody was horrified and fetched the manager who apologized and said there was some kind of communication error at the cooks' shift change. Like I said, it happens. I didn't yell. I just asked for the potatoes instead. I did appreciate the apology, but the hard rice was stuck to the bottom of my fish so I did have to pluck each individual piece of rice off before each bite. I think in that situation, an adjustment to the bill would've been in order. I didn't ask for one, despite the obvious error that really impacted my meal. So I'm assuming they only adjust bills for those that yell. This is a miscalculation on the part of the manager. read more
