I have never left a negative review before, I am saddened to say I have never been more disappointed in a turn of events. After getting in the bar once my id was checked by the bouncer. The bald bartender with dorky glasses demanded my id in a very rude manner. I hand my id to the bartender and he asks me to leave the premises (I am 22 will be 23 in 2 weeks) I then go on to tell him I have another form of identification and he storms out and demands I leave. I am very offended by this bartender and will be giving a call to management tomorrow. This is not something I do often but after reading reviews, I see this is not the bartenders first offense on treating someone in this manner. The reason we went here was we were referred there by a local. He made a scene by taking my ID to the security guard outside. I would not give this place a dollar. read more

This place was in walking distance to our condo/hotel/whatever on the Sandestin Resort. We had a really fun waiter. I noticed the little buckets hanging around the bar, and our waiter said the rum runner was their signature drink. Makes sense. That thing was so good. It was one of those where you didn't taste the alcohol, but by the end we were all pretty tipsy. I ordered a salad and the crab cakes, and both were pretty delicious. I had a taste of the fried crawfish and that was delicious as well. We tried to go back later that night for the dueling pianos, and the vibe of the place was off. I'm not really a fan of the dueling pianos anyway so whatevs. Definitely a memorable and enjoyable afternoon with a cool souvenir bucket to take home that I'll never use again. Ha! read more

Went to dinner last night and ordered a water. The waiter brought my water and I noticed a piece of hair on it before drinking it. Then my son ordered a captain and coke. It was so strong that there was no coke in it. My son's friend noticed that the bartender was drinking behind the bar and serving customers who were very intoxicated to the point of falling off the bar stool. Do not eat here! If I could give zero stars I would. The food quality has gone down considerably in the last year. It was never great but now is disgusting. We were there 4/7. Here's how our food was: Cheese sticks - still cold in the middle Crab cake dinner. The vegetable medley (frozen from a bag) was still cold. The crab cakes were greasy and mostly burnt and inedible. Jerk chicken - more like chicken jerky. Horribly dry and tough. Vegetable medley was mostly frozen. Salad with blackened mahi - the fish was over cooked and extremely dry. After sending the crab cakes back I was still charged 50% for food that was inedible. The other 2 meals were 50% discounted which was fair as they had been mostly choked down. This place is good for dinking and music. They should not serve food at all. Save your money and your stomach and go elsewhere. As a frequent visitor to Baytown Wharf I'd suggest not eating any of the food there. Several places we used to frequent have also gone downhill considerably. read more

The owner and the singer/entertainment (using that term loosely) were very rude and condescending. They were very confrontational and abusive. Under present conditions one would think that a business like this would be welcoming to any and all patrons . Instead we were met with aggression and hostility. Our server Juval took our cards and charged wildly different amounts from our original bills. Everyone in our group was charged an extra 40%-50% of our bills without our permission. He removed our itemized receipts and refused to give them back. When we asked him about the disparity in the payment amounts, he was rude, unapologetic, and the restaurant refused to solve the issue even when we called the next day. Aside from the dishonesty and stealing, the atmosphere was okay. The pianist was good and I enjoyed the live music. The food was not good. My meal, along with a few others at our table, came out incorrect. My hush puppy was still frozen on the inside and my sides were missing. The food was no different than reheated frozen meals from the grocery store. Not terrible but definitely not worth the price point or the hassle of being scammed with no explanation, apology, or resolution. Definitely would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a decent meal and if you do choose to go here, I recommend paying with cash and not giving this restaurant access to your card. I was assaulted by one of the 350 lbs bouncers, shoved into a window, and cornered I was never asked to leave the restaurant I was shoved out of nowhere, to call it a shove would probably be understating how hard I was pushed and cornered. Do not go here unless you are looking to be assaulted. The atmosphere for the 2 minutes I was inside it felt like a retirement home playing young kid music. STAY AWAY. I turned 22 in October and have never had a bar question my REAL ID and the bouncer tried to tell me it was fake and once he took it back and had multiple people examine it, they finally concluded it was real. Then the bartender asked for it again and denied me and my friend, who are both well over 21. He would not give us the time of day and did not serve us. I understand its their decision, but to be questioned and treated like children was disrespectful. We did not rent a house in this neighborhood to not be able to go to the only bar that is open late. This was an infuriating experience and I will not be returning to Sandestin ever again. It was the old man bald bartender btw. In case management sees this. The little bald troll man who is "staff" has a serious Naploean complex. He spews "facts" that are wholly inaccurate and, when proven wrong, resorts to physical violence. Yup, that's right, physical violence! Such a little man should not be allowed in the service industry. Edit: to whomever may reply... First, it wasn't me who served a minor. It was another parent in my 12-person party who didn't know better. I was just the unlucky guy buying the group's first round for the night. Second, I fully acknowledged the error and apologized to the bartender, while calmly explaining that my friend may have been confused given Wisconsin law (Statute 125 allows parents to purchase alcohol in bars for their children). Third, mister "staff" jumped into our conversation and spouted inaccuracies about laws in the US, which i acknowledge the error again and tried to calmly explain what probably happened. But mister staff just kept up his cowboy act, yelling for my party to leave. Fourth, when I came back, it was to educate mister "staff" that his professed statement that no state in the US allows for such sales was incorrect. The hope being that maybe he shouldn't immediately jump to conclusions--that maybe assuming best intent and that people are generally good in the world. I would think that would be best practice considering your business hosts so many tourists from outside Florida, even the US--that a little patience, understanding, and goodwill might just save your business from yet another bad review. Fifth, when I returned 10 minutes later, I was 100% calm, sober, and simply wishing to correct his misinformation. I never once raised my voice (unlike him) and simply offered proof that his understanding was incorrect. For a second, he stopped screaming and actually read the proof I had on my phone. Sixth, unfortunately, after seeing the proof, he became so enraged that he told me to get the f-out of his bar. I said I would be happy to leave, just wanted to share the info--to which he then charged out from behind the bar with more threats of violence--specifically that he was going to "put hands on me." Seventh, realizing the individual was clearly incapable of admitting his mistake or even entertaining civil discourse, I decided it best to make my way to the exit with a normal walking pace. Eighth, as I exited the front door, mister "staff" stepped on the back of my flip-flop and double hand shoved me in the back (a cowardly act, to say the least--more likely assault). Turning around to retrieve my lost footwear, the guy reared back and tossed up fists, apparently preparing to fight--which is hilarious (so much so that I couldnt help but laugh at his abhorrent behavior, as well as pathetic display of "strength). He assaults me, then expects violence even though I never once showed or indicated I'm a violent person. He escalated things way beyond necessary, plain and simple. Bottom line: I admitted my friend was wrong multiple times, apologized for it, never raised my voice or threatened violence, and I tried improve his worldview. This entire experience should be fully corroborated on your security cameras--possibly those outside your bar as well. The young woman who served us should also be able to confirm the above, assuming she has any integrity at all. If mister staff is your employee, I strongly recommend terminating him before your bar collects further bad ratings for crappy/rude service and staff--and unnecessary VIOLENCE. He is a detriment to any situation in which a cool and collected demeanor is required to avoid unnecessary escalation. If Mr staff is, in fact, the owner--dude, it's time to sell the place and start a new career. This one clearly doesn't suit you. Maybe get some anger management as well. Do something before the strain breaks you... Btw--i will update the dozen other bad online reviews I've posted with this additional info, that way any attempts to shed blame will not be left uncontested. I found this place extremely loud. So loud in-fact that we all struggled to speak to anyone of our group who wasn't immediately beside us. My ears were ringing for an hour after we left. The burger was ok, but quite dry. It was nothing to brag about, although I ate the entire thing. They feature dueling pianos/singers, but unlike Howl At The Moon which operated in Ft. A fun place to enjoy music a few drinks. Be warned: it gets SUPER crowded here, especially on the weekends. We went on a Saturday night in the Spring and by 9PM you could barely move. The drinks were ok; we each had a mixed drink from the menu and a beer. They were kinda pricey but you get that at the beach. Atmosphere was really cool until my 25yo boyfriend went back up to the bar to order two shots (he had already ordered shots and beer previously) and the bartender stole his money after he took his order and refused to give the money back or his drinks because he didn't have id on him. Completely understand denying service but does not give him the right to be a thief and steal his money. So i wouldn't recommend.
