My wife and I stopped in for dinner on a quiet Sunday evening after spending the afternoon touring nearby Taliesin. We had the pick of our table in their small but nicely decorated 50s style dining room. Our server appeared a minute later to give us menus and take our drink order. Their menu offered burgers, hot dogs, chicken and wraps. We had our minds set on a burger but couldn't decide among the several choices available. Querying our server, she pointed us to the Marilyn burger so we each got one of those with a small green salad and onion rings to share. Tempted by their floats and shakes, we didn't buckle and got glasses of waters. Our burgers arrived piled high with yumminess including grilled onions, cheese curds, bacon, more cheese, bbq and rumble sauce. Looks like they will put their rumble sauce (spicy ranch?) on anything you let them. The actual patty hiding under all this is thinner than you think and made it possible for us to finish it without too much trouble. The small salad was enjoyable topped with tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and cheese. It was big enough to share fir us and they kindly each gave us our own choice of dressing on the side. Seven of us stopped at this old fashion drive in restaurant. It was a nice outside so we ordered at the outside window and sat on the picnic tables. Three kids and 4 adults we all ordered different items from the menu, Each of our sandwiches and ff were delicious. I personally had the turkey club it was so yummy I had it with the thousand island dressing that put it over the top. The rumble ff were really good too. Others had burgers that were very good, The chicken taco salad was yummy as well. We all had root beer which was served in a frosted glass mug just like A&W used to & they came around to refill your glass if you wanted a little more. Then of course we all had ice cream. I had the turtle sundae wow it was amazing. So if you like the old fashion drive in food give this place a try I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

Went here on a Saturday for lunch because it was an open air spot and looked like a fun place to eat. Since it was a little past the normal lunch hour, there weren't that many people there eating, so it was easy to space out. There was enough of a crowd though to let you know that the place should be good. We ended up ordering a butterscotch malt, root beer float, rumble chicken sandwich, rumble fries, and the Marilyn Monroe burger. The malt was probably the favorite thing ordered. It was nice and thick and you could taste the malt and deep butterscotch flavor. The rumble chicken sandwich was just too messy for my liking. Primarily because there was sauce on the bottom bun, on top of the tomato, and on the top bun. I could have done with a little less and should have just asked for it on the side. The bun to filling ratio was also off, as the bun was way larger than the chicken piece that I got. The rumble fries were nicely crisped and not overly salty. The Marilyn Monroe burger was extremely messy!! It even came with a fork. There were more toppings around the burger than in the burger, which made it very difficult to eat. My friend would have liked it better if it would have been more of something you could bite into all at once. Overall, the staff was very friendly and I loved the decorations inside, but it was maybe not my style of food. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch at this family owned business. We are out on the lawn, but moved under the roof before the rain came down. The place has a lot of character including some throwback playground equipment for the little ones to play on. As far as the food, it is more than what you would hope for at a drive up restaurant. They have their own rumble sauce which is quite tasty. The root beer floats are the best you'll find. The ice cream is stacked over the top of the glass and they come around to top off your root beer, which they make on site. read more

This is a nice little family run business that serves a good variety of food. You can eat in your car, outside, or in the diner itself, which is decorated with lots of kitschy rock and roll decor. Hubby's burger was good, my BLT was packed with bacon, and eldest girl's fish sandwich was judged "delightful." The fries were plentiful - "rumble fries" were tasty spiced wedges. They make their own root beer, which the hubby enjoyed. They also serve generous helpings of Chocolate Shoppe ice cream! There's a small playground as well, which makes for a nice roadside stop. Peace, Love & Root Beer - reads the sign out front and the back of some of the girls shirts. This is a classic drive-in... and even though the girls weren't on roller skates, it felt very classic-authentic. I almost felt bad that my modern car windows did no get along well with the hook-on food trays. We got a pulled pork sandwich, a turkey club, some curly fries and a too-sweet butterscotch shake. It was very tasty and just the right amount of food for our lunch needs. The classic rock was playing and families were sitting in their cars, at the picnic tables and in the gazebo... and I think there were even some people at an indoor seating section, but we did not investigate it. read more

First time here. Before I go into my review I would like to say they are very prepared and serious about COVID. We asked at the door if we could go inside she said yes but only sit were the napkin holders are. The tables were spaced and cleaned. Menus were wiped down and we were told to leave mask on until food and drink came. There was outdoor seating if you choose. I felt very good about the whole process. We were so excited to spot this while driving through Spring Green. 3 adults and 3 big dogs in the car, so a drive in was perfect. Elvis was playing, and the place was busy inside and out. Had to try the rootbeer in a big, glass frost mugs. The waitress periodically came by with a pitcher to refill. One of us got a rootbeer float with lots of local Chocolate Shoppe brand icecream. The rootbeer was pretty good - nice and spicy. The three sammies we had were: hot ham & cheese, double bacon cheeseburger, and veggie burger. All were served on reusable plastic baskets, or reusable plastic plates, which we appreciated - not like the usual fast food disposables. The burgers were both awesome. Very impressed with the veggie burger - actual chunks of veggies in it, including olives, mushrooms and peppers. For sides we got onion rings (YUM), curly fries (YUMMIER), and rumble fries (YUMMIEST) - the rumble fries were steak fries with a delicious coating/breading. The only downside to the visit was that we were too full for dessert! Large variety of ice cream, and of course malts and shakes. We'll be back!! read more

Rumbleseats is what remains of an old A&W location that lived its life from (at least) the 60's thru the early 90's. Have visited here (under the A&W label), well, since before I was "here" in the traditional sense. So, I'm a little predisposed to liking this otherwise independent place. They have an eat-in area inside the restaurant itself, as well as the old-school drive-up / pull-in parking spots served by the usual sort of things (window-hook food trays, and whatnot). Keep in mind that most menu offerings are fairly messy to eat when you decide where to eat. The food has its fair share of from-frozen ingredients that are only fried on site. Fairly meh, food-wise, though certainly a step above usual fast food. Nothing I've eaten over a few dozen visits is especially standout, but, again, nothing was terrible. They still make the best of a frosty root beer - at least as of my last visit - since, even if it's not a craft brew, the root beer tastes fresh, and is infinitely improved by a frosty mug, ice cream included or not. A place for a stop if it's on your way / convenient. You're probably in for a disappointment if you select Rumbleseats as a destination spot. And be prepared for $$+ prices for fairly standard fast food fare (except it's served at 'when we get to you' paces...) For what it is, it definitely checks all the boxes adequately; though my recent charge (more than 20$) for a one patty burger, small fry (both of which needed salt and pepper and any sort of seasoning, ftlog, desperately), a soda, and tip seemed a bit excessive, price- & ingredient wise, and not consistent with other visits. Laissez les bonnes temps...well, not do much of anything.. Must add - staff disappearing after leaving a check is pretty bull ***. Meh. I hate to say it, but I probably won't be fussed to go back. Absurd prices, awkward and bad service, badly cleaned soft drink lines (diet coke shouldn't have a minty fresh feel, just saying...). May stop in for a root bear after APT, but it'll only be for nostalgia's sake. read more

This is a GREAT drive-in. (Though, I have to admit we always eat inside -- the chances of glopping up a car seat are just too high.) We find ourselves there on a regular basis, regardless of calorie count. The burgers are great, and the philly cheese steak sandwich is a gloppy, gooey mess of deliciousness. The house "rumble fries" (coated steak fries) are calculated to drive your cardiologist to drink. Order the small size unless you plan to share. The root beer floats are their signature drink; the root beer is spicy and creamy, and the floats are made with real ice cream (Chocolate Shoppe, out of Madison.) I think with a healthy bit of attention to sprucing up the curb appeal, this property could garner a bit more attention. Let's see some more neon and bright colors and chrome! We stopped at this place the other day and we were very disappointed. The food was alright but the service and their prices are very tricky. We ordered four small root beers and the waitress said "those come in a frosted mug, is that alright" and we told her yes! According to their menu a small root beer was $1.95 each. Little did we know that by agreeing to the frosted mugs we had just been tricked into paying for medium root beers at the cost of $3.95 each. BEWARE. read more

Great food, fun and service! My husband and I love to travel and when we stop to eat we want to eat where the locals do. So we ask. Rumbleseats is the place. You can eat in your car with "hop" service, you can sit inside or outside at a picnic table. There is a playground outdoors for the kids and games and books inside on the tables. And for nostalgia - just take a look around. The menu has something for everyone, burgers, salads and wraps . . . you can choose to be healthy . . . but you probably won't!! The root beer, made on premises, is DELICIOUS! I had the Chicken Taco Salad . . . it was described as "spicy." It was perfect. And onion rings, because I had too :) Mmmmmm mmmmm. My hubby had the philly cheesesteak and loved it. A young guy next to us had the Gotta do'it Burger (four patties, four slices of cheese and all the fix ins'!)
