After puzzling over whether or not the street entrance was theirs, I was delighted by how lovely and posh Rumi's kitchen feels. This corner restaurant location has been a thousand other places and I'm really hoping that Rumis stays because they have a great thing going here. One nice touch and one I've not seen is the napkins were tied with a little note and some twine, it really added a nice touch of elegance. On top of that, I was seated in the bar side area. A lovely couple was later seated next to me. A minute later the waitress comes and says, hey I heard it was your anniversary can we move you to a more romantic table? Love it. Starting off with the bread course, a warm pita served with cheese, very fresh herbs, and some veggies and walnuts. It was very interesting approach to a bread course, and one that I'd order if it wasn't part of the meal! My waitress was patient with my newness and described the menu, the general themes and didn't look upset when I ordered my usual Diet Coke For my meal I ordered a ... Kebob whose name escapes me. It started with a set of spices that came with detailed instructions (no, really!). The meat was prepared two ways and paired wonderfully with the rice. The portion was definitely large enough for two meals and while I would've loved to try the falafel I'm glad I passed on it. As the sun went down, the lights dimmed and the bar was lit with soft lights that were delightful to look at. Wrapped up with a unique date milkshake that was splendid. My only complaint the straw was hopeless to compete. Overall, Rumi's checks all the boxes needed for my five stars. read more

Came here on a crackalackin Friday night, but it was late enough that we were able to sneak in and get a table pretty quickly. I enjoyed the mule cocktail (with saffron) but wish they had stirred it before giving it to me because at first it tasted pretty watery. For a $14 cocktail I think that's a fair ask. The koobideh kabob, which tastes like a spiced beef American kabob in some ways, was quite good. I sprinkled some of the zatar spice on it and I think it's a good move. The $4 up charge for the Adas rice is also a very good move. It adds quite a bit to the rice. Finally, I like their version of chips and salsa, with the complimentary white cheese, Peeta, and mint/fennel and other green leaved salad; although it was a bit dry but that may be more my lack of experience with Persian food. Rumis kitchen for a girls day lunch date is perfect! Walked in and the host stand is not directly in the doorway, you do have to walk in past the bar area to see a host. Was greeted and sat right away. The decor including plates and greenery was beautiful and airy. Our server came over right away and asked our water preference, still or sparkling, and both are complimentary. We ordered two of their specialty cocktails, forbidden fruit and deep sea diver and they were both very refreshing and unique. We ordered two appetizers which I didn't get photos of because I dug in so quickly. The hummus with the mushroom is a taste sensation. I ordered the salmon and wow. When I took the first bite, it was cooked to perfection and had such an amazing flavor that melted in my mouth. The rice is a mixed rice with saffron and an herb rice. I love the saffron rice, but the herb rice has a bit too much cilantro or parsley (not sure which it was) for my own taste. The portions are good size that I had enough to take home and have dinner and a small lunch the next day. There are also some amazing sauces that they will serve with the entrees. My favorite was a green chutney sauce and it had a little spice to it! The server was awesome, she provided amazing recommendations and answered all our questions about menu items. I've been to Rumi's at the Avalon and had a similar expectation for the food at this location. The Rumi's kitchen at Colony Square was good, but the ambience a bit off. We were incredibly thrown off my the music they were playing (country) when this was meant to be middle eastern fare. The pita bread here was ... just not pita bread, it was awful and not the pita I'm used to having at other Rumi's locations. Still, Rumi's is still pretty solid mediterranean food and the labneh and persian ice cream sandwich are to die for. read more

Without exaggeration the Rumi's kitchen is the best Persian restaurant I ever been to. If you are looking for a Mediterranean food, that should be your first choice. Here are a few tips for the first timers: - traditionally all Kabobs are grilled on open fire, so they are well done. If you prefer another temperature make sure to ask your server. For some kabobs such as koobide, that is the only temperature, because pink ground meat is not common. - all cocktails are great, my personal favorites are the handsome lion and the promised land. - normally kabobs are served with rice but if you want to cut carbs, I recommend to replace your rice with grilled veggies or Shirazi salad. - Persian kabobs are served with a spice called Somak. My husband and I met another couple who had suggested Rumi's Kitchen for our night out. The first thing I will say is that I'm glad we took a Lyft because the area is pretty congested. I'm sure one could find parking nearby but it was nice to simply get dropped off. We had to ask directions once inside Colony Square. The front of the restaurant has subtle signage (see photo). You will recognize it because of the doors. What terrific ambiance and we never felt rushed at all. I couldn't believe our dining experience was 3:30 hours! Our server had great suggestions - that we eat the meat family style and he would pile the rice on one plate. Also suggested a side of grilled vegetables which we got and loved it. Cocktails were spot on and the charred meat and veggies were incredible in their taste. We took home leftovers. Definitely an Atlanta treasure. Great food. Only issue - Way too loud. Good service of a large group. Attentive and prompt.

We booked this as it was convenient to Symphony Hall; we were attending a concert at 8 p.m. Note for planning: they do not open the venue until 7:30 p.m. so booking a dinner as late as 6:30 p.m. will leave you sufficient time to get to your seat... The entrace to the parking decks (which we used) were off 14th street, just past Peachtree Street. There is a short line in and at least as long a line to exit, for planning purposes. Note: the exit lanes sub-divide into 2 lanes. You *can* use either one. We parked on the Gold level and used the 2 escalators to get up to the 'plaza level' of Colony Square. There are video maps to assist you (though we didn't notice them). Rumi's Kitchen fronts on Peachtree Street, so head that way... We ended up following a group of 5 - 6 goofball 30-ish hipsters into the restaurant. I hoped they didn't seat us near them but they did. Seating actually took a few minutes (I am not sure why, as we had reservations and it sounded like other parties that had even later reservations were accommodated before us...). Our table was the last one over by the window. Rumi's has the whole front space of the building; it is huge, but they still crowded the tables together. It was noisy enough so that we rarely heard the hipsters, at least. The two older women at the next table were pretty loud, though. Plus Rumi's had some EDM background music that was all bass. It became sort of a joke. Our server was fine. She brought the pita bread and accompanying items quickly. I had 2 glasses of pricier than normal wine (from Napa - $17 per). We each got a kabob. My wife's was a partial steak + one koobideh kabob. I just got the 2 koobideh kabobs. We also split a date salad, which we liked a lot. I'd probably prefer eating at the Avalon location, or maybe trying the original one (in Sandy Springs?) as this was just a bit noisy and tight. If you like crowds and noise, this place still may be appropriate for you. The food was very good, but I was not a fan of the atmosphere. read more

Absolutely loved my experience here! When I first walked in I was awed by how the restaurant looked. It was very modern and I felt like I was being transported to another world. I had my birthday dinner here and would recommend you have one too! Reservations are highly recommended as it get busy really quickly. The bar was the first place I went to and the drinks menu had a variety of options. I had the Sabzi Tonica and Tehran Mule and those were both delicious and were decorated beautifully. The food menu also had a lot of options. From a variety of meat, seafood, and hummus. I ordered the falafel, lamb merguez hummus, roasted crimini & oyster mushroom hummus, duck fesenjoon, lamb rack, and roasted salmon. Both hummus dishes were so delicious and flavorful, the lamb was cooked perfectly in the hummus and really meshed well together. I am a big fan of mushrooms and the mushroom hummus was a five star for me. The falafel was great and its served with beets, torshi, hummus, etc. The duck, lamb, and salmon was cooked to perfection and all were flavorful. The salmon and lamb was a fan favorite at our table. We ordered this much food family style for a group of 7 people and we were all very stuffed at the end of the meal. For dessert, we were gifted persian ice cream sandwiches and they were delicious. It is a vanilla ice cream that has saffron flavor in it. This is an acquired taste for most people but I really like saffron and enjoyed it. The service was immaculate, our waitress was Sofiia and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and was very welcoming. Wow everything from the food to the service and to the atmosphere was spectacular. Immediately upon entrance, you're greeted with a dark, moody environment and space that's beautifully decorated. We asked our waiter what he recommended and he claimed that many people deem their sea bass as the "best" in all of Atlanta. As we're not from Atlanta, we couldn't speak on that statement, but I can confirm that it's the best sea bass I've ever had in my life. Usually fish doesn't fill you up the way meat does, but the sea bass was cooked to the point where it was so buttery and heavy in flavor that within a couple of bites, I was extremely full and fulfilled. OMG! Where do I start! I will keep this brief. I arrived 20 minutes before my 12pm reservation and was seated immediately. Elyse was my waitress, and she served Sparkling water while explaining the menu. For appetizers, I ordered the Lamb ribs, which were tender and good. Then, for my main, I ordered the salmon. When it came to the table I was like yhisnis big... it's probably not seasoned throughout. When I tell you, that was the best flavorful salmon I've ever devoured. Trust me! For it to be so thick, it was juicy! I had to tell Elyse to thank the chef because I am no stranger to salmon. It was so goodnI forced myself to take a doggy bag home. The place was pretty packed but I failed to get a refill and we were surrounded by plates throughout our meal making it difficult to eat. Definitely has nice decor and a fancy atmosphere! The food and service were great, but prices are definitely on the higher end. Parking at Colony Square is only validated for 2 hours. It still cost us $10 for the 20 minutes over that time on a Sunday. I had made a reservation just in case (4 people at 12:30 on a Sunday) but there were still plenty of tables so could have been ok without one. We tried the Labne Charred Tomato ($13) as an appetizer per our waitresses' recommendation and liked it! We also had the American Wagyu Zabuton Kabob ($50) and Chilean Sea Bass ($47). Both were flavorful, especially the wagyu. Might come back if we're in the mood for a fancy dinner. read more

This was my second visit and the food here is phenomenal. My first visit I had the Chilean sea bass. So flavorful and moist. This visit we did more of a family style with lamb kabobs and soltani kabobs (beef). So good! For appetizers we did Kashk Badenjoon which is like an eggplant dip. And we did tahdig which is like a crispy rice with a beef kinda stew on it. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of those because everyone started digging in before I could do it lol the staff is wonderful. They always explain everything very well. Rumi's is truly special and perfect in every way. I think this is my favorite Atlanta restaurant. This location is really beautiful as well, and the service is stellar. Be sure to let your waitperson know that you valet parked. Valet is complimentary when you dine in, but the garage is not. You will be given as much bread as you need throughout the meal, and it is really amazing and fresh out of the oven. The complimentary feta, walnuts, radishes, and herbs are a yummy start. The Persian Tea is also an amazing accompaniment to your meal. If you enjoy black tea you will not want to miss this. I usually do not sweeten my tea, but adding a sugar cube to each cup allows the floral notes to bloom. The labne with charred tomato is so incredibly good. The cool tangy yogurt pairs so well with the tomatoes. The dish is simple, clean, and bursting with flavor. The chermoula eggplant is half an eggplant roasted so that it is creamy. It is a bit spicy and sweet. The kashk badenjoon is so smoky and creamy, full of chunks of eggplant. I don't think you can go wrong with either if you are an eggplant fan. I have yet to try the mirza ghasemi. I have had both the mushroom and smoked salmon hummus. While the mushroom is delicious, the smoked salmon really knocked my socks off. There is a generous portion of the best hot-smoked salmon you have ever had on top of tasty hummus with red pepper. The grilled veggies are tasty and a great addition to the meal. I also sampled the corn ribs. They had a but of a kick and were really delicious. The Chilean sea bass is the best piece of fish I have had in recent memory. Just unbelievable! The fish is charred on the outside and perfectly cooked. It just melts in your mouth and almost tastes buttery. It is decadent! I split this entree with two others after we had a variety of small plates. I ordered extra grilled tomatoes. The rice is perfectly seasoned and accompanies the fish beautifully. First time having Persian food and I have to said, I was a bit underwhelmed by the entrees I got and even the starters. The appetizer however, was very delicious and I would come back just to have it again. To start, the restaurant provides our table with bread and some feta cheese/herbs. I was a bit confused by the choices of herbs but it tasted good with the bread and cheese. The feta cheese however, just felt like it wasn't spreadable as the waiter told us to spread the cheese onto our bread. We got the lamb hummus as our appetizer and the entire dish was a chefs kiss! The hummus was very light and creamy and the lamb was extremely juice and well seasoned. For our entrees, we got the beef kabobs which came with two types of beef, sliced and grounded beef. We also got the sea bass recommended by our waiter. Both were a bit underwhelming in my opinion as the ground beef kabob kind of tasted like hamburger and the sea bass was just okay. Everything was cooked well and juicy, however it felt like something was missing. Maybe I didn't order the best item for my taste and need to come back again, but my first visit at Rumis was just alright, especially for the price. read more

He even advised me that the bread is made with dairy and brought some slices of cucumber and tomato for me. This menu is designed for sharing at the table. This time, I was in a group of three, and we split five appetizers: the charred tomato labne, the falafel, the lamb hummus, the cauliflower, and mirza ghasemi. It was legitimately filling and enough food for us. Really delicious with the hot sauce that we requested on the side (note: it's hot!) Rumi's kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta and it never disappoints! If you want beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and great service, this is definitely a spot. This is also my favorite place to bring out of town visitors! This location is just as beautiful as other locations and bonus is that they have valet parking, and validate parking if you parked on the garage. Good is absolutely amazing. I cannot pick a favorite, love everything from their complimentary bread, cheese and herb appetizer to their entrees. This time we tried corn steaks and mushroom hummus for appetizers. Mushroom hummus was sooo smooth and flavorful. This is definitely a list of you like mushrooms. Entree wise, really you can't go wrong with anything. My personal favorite is Soltani. Officially obsessed with this place! This is my second time at this location (And Ive been to the Sandy Spring location as well). I ALWAYS get the lamb Rack, literally the most expensive thing on the menu, but I don't care because it's the best lamb I've ever had. It comes with a Lentil raisin bastami rice. It's delicious but I don't like raisins and they put a LOT of raisins on it. So the second time I came here, I got the Sabzi rice, it was just okay, but I was charged $4 extra for it even though I wanted it as a substitute, not a side. I wish the server had made that clear. I did not argue since I was with guests, but that wasn't cool. So far, the raisin rice has been the best one and I may just need to stick with that. To drink, I've had the S.S. Poet (delicious) and the Quicksadn Promised Land (also very good). I tried the Sabzi Tonica and that one is super light and delicious. One of the times I went, I was celebrating my sister's birthday. She got a complimentary dessert (I got to pick for her). It was huge and delicious and we were able to share with everyone. Overall, it was an amazing birthday celebration and as a creature of habit, I may have to celebrate my birthday there too in a few months. Both times I have been, we have sat outside.
