So I saw Julia a while ago (this is my review from Google since when I did the review their Yelp page wasn't active), and she did my hair a few times. The first time I asked for R 65 I think, it's burgundy. She put some other color and it faded so I went back and she put some crap toner on it, I didn't like it but I didn't say anything, this was at her old salon in Woodland Hills. She did my color again which was better and she knows I like my hair short. This time she moved to this salon, Rumors, I was VERY SPECIFIC, sending the pics and the color I wanted. She assured me she could do it, even showing me a man who she did his color. So when she applied the color after the bleaching, it didn't come out like I wanted. I asked her if you put the purple in as you did for the guy, and she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. The color didn't come out ANYWHERE near the color I wanted, if you didn't know how to do it just say it I would have gone somewhere else instead of wasting my time. She and another girl, who seems more experienced, gave me blue shampoo, which I did both of them bc they said it will darken up, it did shit. I look like shit and my friends and coworkers said what was she thinking. I let her know and she had an opening for Fri 4/5, I told her I am going by to move my patient and let her know. SHE KNEW I wanted that spot but this chick gave it to someone else, or did she? I also went the day before and bought the color I wanted in case she didn't. So anyway she gave my time slot to someone else leaving me hanging. I go in the group looking for someone to do my color and Julia, I don't understand, unfriended me on Facebook and BLOCKED me on Instagram, HAHAHA like what? How childish. Own up to your mistakes/issues like an adult. I will not promote her again, she's inexperienced and doesn't listen to the client. Hilda (the owner) is the only one I can go to get my hair done well. She listens to what I want and whenever I give her a picture she matches the pictures. Even though they do a pretty good job, they're still very unprofessional because they make clients wait a long time. I booked an appointment for Eric to do my hair, and showed up on time. I waited 25 minutes for him to finally do my hair, and he was just finishing up with another guy. It's not worth the cost for them to treat their clients in such a manner. I understand they want to do a good job on the clients they are working on, but they need a lesson in time- management. read more

I remember my mom getting her hair cut here when the asian lady ran this place, it was horrible & they charged her a fortune! Years later, I myself went to go give this place a try after reading all the great reviews about the salon & Hilda, the new owner. When I came in I was bummed to know that Hilda was on vacation but I decided to give Eric a try instead because I really wanted a haircut that day & some change. Eric was great! He listened to what I wanted and was so professional and nice! I told him that I wanted a LOB (long bob) and showed him pictures on my phone. Having super long hair I was really scared to let a stranger cut my hair but he assured me that he thought that the cut would fit me well & made sure that the initial cuts on each side was okay with me. End result, I love my cut. I know everyone raves about Hilda on here but I gave Eric a chance & don't regret it. I'm looking forward to getting my hair colored by him soon & will update. read more

I'll try to keep this brief. Upon entering, I approached the counter and asked for a haircut. The guy, Eric, didn't offer any kind of smile or greeting. Just asked what I wanted. I showed a picture, and he BARELY glanced at it once, then didn't look again the entire time. He didn't ask any questions about length, if I wanted it washed, if I wanted my bangs trimmed, absolutely nothing. Spoke barely two full sentences to me the entire time. I tried to speak up and explain exactly what I wanted, but I tend to be a little shy, and his cold demeanor didn't help that. The only reason I'm not giving only one star is that I AM still happy with my hair, it looks fine, although it is definitely a different style than the photo. read more

I had an appointment scheduled with Eric and arrived 10 minutes early. I was asked by the woman working if I had an appointment and told her I did and she asked with who? I told her Eric and she said, well he's working on someone and then she pointed at a lady seated and said, she also has a 10:30am with Eric too. She tells me I am going to have to wait. I told her no I'm not waiting. First off to the owner and Eric if you guys schedule appointments keep them and don't make your customers wait and waste their time. I am sure you wouldn't like to wait on your scheduled time for any appointments you make! I was really needing my me time and wanted to feel good and get a nice haircut and dye. I have been feeling really depressed and told myself today will be for me. I went out of my way to take the steps in scheduling an appointment and read the great reviews about Eric doing such great job on hair. My mom had Natalia as her hairstylist, she absolutely loved her work! She was able to bring beautiful brown highlights! Until my mom went back for a touch-up with a different hairstylist. She had an appointment at 10:00 AM, began at 10:05 AM. The hairstylist began to bleach her hair. Then after TWO HOURS, the bleach was still in her hair! Not washed or rinsed, and just barely done with her whole head! My mom began to see her hair FALLING OUT! The hairstylist did not do a thing! She just stood there! Hilda (owner/ and my colorist) & Eric (blow dry and brazillian blowout specialist) are true crafts people. Another perfect retouch and blow dry. Very happy with this Salon. They were on schedule for my appointed time. The shampoo gal (do not recall her name) is very pleasant too, she gets all of the color off of your face before the style begins. I was undecided whether I wanted to dye my hair lighter because my hair is very very dark, and it's a whole process to get my hair to a nice brown/blonde color. I finally decided to look for a place where I was able to get balayage highlights. I was looking for an affordable place not too far from home. I came across Rumor's Hair Salon. I made my appointment with Hilda, the owner. From the outside, the salon looked like a typical salon, not very fancy or anything. At first I was very skeptical! I was wondering if my hair was going to turn out fine or what if it came out too blonde? I took my chances and walked inside. Wow! This salon is way more than I expected. The interior decor is very well set up. It made me feel very comfortable and welcomed! The floor was very nicely done and provided a nice comfort with the warm colored walls. Hilda was waiting at the front and the thing I liked the most was that I didn't have to wait to be taken care of. Hilda quickly got to work and really listened to the type of hair style I wanted. She did advise me that I would have to go back to get maybe one or two sessions in before I achieved the style I wanted. I still decided to get the highlights done, since I've been wanting this look for awhile! Her technique was very unique and the strands of hair she dyed were the perfect size, not too thick and not too small. I had bleach on my hair for about 45 minutes and I was really terrified of having my hair turn out white blonde! After shampooing my hair, and yet again exceeding my expectations, my hair came out very close to the color I was looking for. Her assistant, styled my hair and I left with a whole new look! The cost for my hair color and hair cut was about $110, and I think that's a pretty reasonable price to the work Hilda does here. Having mixed hair it's hard to find a right stylist to be able to style it , cut it & manage it but Eric was that guy . He cut it and straighten my hair into perfection not only that he TOOK HIS TIME with my hair and I was the last customer which really show me that he cares about his clients . My daughter and I went out for Mother's Day to get our hair and nails done and do some shopping. After calling multiple hair salons, and no one being opened, I came across Rumors Hair Salon. They were able to fit both of us in, last minute. Eric cut our hair and he was AMAZING!!! He took his time with both, my daughter and myself, not rushing us, even though it was Sunday and a holiday. Went in on Saturday 2/27/17 with fried- discolored hair, Edith did a wonderful job at doing exactly what I went in for. She cut and colored it just enough to make my hair look and feel healthy. Great and friendly conversation. Its been almost a week since i went in and my hair still feels amazing. I found Rumors Hair Salon here on Yelp. So I made an appointment with Hilda and have been loyal to her for the last year and a half or so. Don't know why it took so long to write a review. Whenever I've gotten a hair cut I get compliments like you wouldn't believe. I just love her and I always take pictures of my favorite cut (The Carol, from The Walking Dead) and she does exactly that. As long as Hilda is there and open I will see here until death do us part! I only have it 3 stars because the experience really depends on what stylists you see there. I usually go with Eric which is more than great. My hair got so long and healthy and he made it look so good all the time plus he can carry a great conversation to make you feel like you have known each other for a long time. I recently went back and Eric was not there so as much as I have heard to stay with the person you like, I also heard all the stylist there where great, well that is not the case. There is a lady who has only been there for a few weeks but has had her license for about 20yrs. I dont recall her name but she chopped my hair off and left it choppy. She asked how I wanted it and I told her to just cut the tips and I wanted to keep the long layers that I already had, she asked how much do you need cut? Will 1 inch be ok? I responded 1 inch is fine. The first cut she did was about 6inches off, then slowly creeped up. I told her that was way more than 1 inch and she said yeah but you're hair will feel much healthier, you'lllove it (which I don't). It was to late to walk away from since I can't just glue the hair back on. My hair went from 1inch past my belly button to 4inches past my shoulders. It seriously took me years for my hair to get to that point since my hair grows very slow. I just recommend if you are going to this salon, make sure you see Eric or the owner since shes always done so good with my daughters hair read more
