I've been coming to the place for breakfast for 3 years now. Their French toast is awesome and their mimosas and now presidential mimosas are yummy. Everything we've had their is something to go back for again and again. We live in Vermont and vacation to Maine coast once a year, no matter where we are staying we make it a point to get to Rumorz for bfast. There was a patron there during our most recent visit, he was rude and lewd, after we had to ask him to keep his lewd talk respectful because it was too much. I ordered a gigantic breakfast - sausage, ham, bacon, and eggs - on a whim and it was all delicious and fresh. The owner and waitress are so friendly and urged me to stay in their outdoor seating area to enjoy some free live music. I will be back when I'm back at OOB! read more

I have nothing but good words about this place. It looks like a "hole-in-the-wall" type diner from the outside but it's phenomenal food!! The food came out super fast, AND extremely fresh. An adorable tiny place with tasty food a block off the beach. There was live music when we were there which was a very fun guy singing to a karaoke machine and getting people from the crowd to sing with him. Very sweet and entertaining. A-ok for a hotel breakfast restaurant. We came here on our first morning in the area as it was within walking distance of our hotel and had breakfast food. Going out to eat with a toddler is always an exercise full of mystery and surprise - will it go well or be an unmitigated disaster? You never know what you're gonna get (thanks, Forrest Gump!). This was not one of our finest moments as toddler-handlers but the staff was very kind and attentive. One downside was that they appeared to only have one high chair, a fact which emerged when another family with small children came in for breakfast. The fruit salad was middling - mostly grapes and melon. The eggs I ordered were nicely poached and still runny which was a very pleasant surprise. The pancakes were also tasty, according to my breakfast companions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place if you're local and in need of a sit down breakfast. It won't break the bank or rock your world, but it will make you not hungry in a pleasant fashion. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. First, there's no seating and people are jammed packed inside. The service is horrendous and I'm not using that term loosely. The young blonde hair bartender cared more about flirting with whom I believe is her boyfriend... not a great look for a bartender to do when she has guest sitting at a table waiting to be greeted. Our drinks sat empty for well over 5 mins and we had to ask several times for another round. The older blonde working admitted to a guest in my party that she was drunk and she was clearly very under the influence of something. She was also more occupied with a male bar guest. I give it three stars, because each evening that I've grubbed there, the "owner" was demeaning his staff, on several occasions throughout dinner.. and he wasn't quiet about it. One can hear him chastising his female chef and bartender. arguing with his bartender as he was taking credit for cooking a happy consumers dinner. (she was very insistent that he did not.) Lastly. As I was paying my bill, I over heard the same gentleman calling his patrons sitting at the bar, "A bunch of rich alcoholics". But please. try for yourself. This is an intimate quiet chef owned and operated cafe. I have been here for brunch several times and dinner on a very special occasion. The service is outstanding. Attentive and responsive, the coffee is always full and drinks topped off. The food is cooked to order, meaning you can tweak the menu any way you need to meet your needs. The secret brown mushroom gravy is a must have ask for it when you're there. The menu is always expanding and changing so you don't get bored. The French toast is to die for. We visited Rumorz tonight with the whole family to celebrate my 50th birthday. The atmosphere was just as welcoming at night as it is during the day. The staff is attentive and friendly. The dinner menu items we sampled were just as delicious as the brunch items were previously. We started with a plate of the steak and cheese nachos. The massive pile of chips was crowned with onions, peppers, cheese and pieces of filet mignon tips that made for an outstanding appetizer choice. I had the Rumorz hamburg steak with waffle fries and baby carrots. Stephen's gravy is beyond awesome, and compliments the juicy burger. I had baby carrots and waffle fries for my sides. What perfect comfort food. My daughter had the Cafe Burger on ciabatta bread with American cheese and bacon, along with some of those yummy waffle fries. One of our friends had the chicken parmesan, which arrived atop pasta covered in sauce and looked delicious. My wife and our other friends had the beer battered Icelandic haddock and a basket of the aforementioned fries. The meal was capped off with a slice of chocolate birthday cake. A great meal and wonderful service, all at a fair price helped make this a great birthday celebration for me. Thanks again Stephen. We will be back. read more

Rumorz Café is a small place with a big heart. The food is absolutely amazing. The manager thinks about every little thing that they are serving to you. Even the bread is fantastic. Their specialty meals are cinnamon bread French toast, and an incredibly flavorful steak tip eggs benedict. Everything is homemade and tasty. Head and shoulders above any other breakfast in Old Orchard, or in all of Southern Maine for that matter. read more
