This is an intimate quiet chef owned and operated cafe. I have been here for brunch several times and dinner on a very special occasion. The service is outstanding. Attentive and responsive, the coffee is always full and drinks topped off. The food is cooked to order, meaning you can tweak the menu any way you need to meet your needs. The secret brown mushroom gravy is a must have ask for it when you're there. The menu is always expanding and changing so you don't get bored. The French toast is to die for. Overall we keep going back. Happiness is an excellent brunch. That's Rumorz..

We visited Rumorz tonight with the whole family to celebrate my 50th birthday. The atmosphere was just as welcoming at night as it is during the day. The staff is attentive and friendly. The dinner menu items we sampled were just as delicious as the brunch items were previously. We started with a plate of the steak and cheese nachos. The massive pile of chips was crowned with onions, peppers, cheese and pieces of filet mignon tips that made for an outstanding appetizer choice. I had the Rumorz hamburg steak with waffle fries and baby carrots. Stephen's gravy is beyond awesome, and compliments the juicy burger. I had baby carrots and waffle fries for my sides. What perfect comfort food. My daughter had the Cafe Burger on ciabatta bread with American cheese and bacon, along with some of those yummy waffle fries. One of our friends had the chicken parmesan, which arrived atop pasta covered in sauce and looked delicious. My wife and our other friends had the beer battered Icelandic haddock and a basket of the aforementioned fries. The meal was capped off with a slice of chocolate birthday cake. A great meal and wonderful service, all at a fair price helped make this a great birthday celebration for me. Thanks again Stephen. We will be back.

Rumorz Café is a small place with a big heart. The food is absolutely amazing. The manager thinks about every little thing that they are serving to you. Even the bread is fantastic. Their specialty meals are cinnamon bread French toast, and an incredibly flavorful steak tip eggs benedict. Everything is homemade and tasty. Head and shoulders above any other breakfast in Old Orchard, or in all of Southern Maine for that matter.

Okayyyyy Big Daddy's!…read more I ordered the Peach Bacon Glaze Burger with lots of cheese and caramelized onions, cooked medium, and BABYYYY... ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! First of all, this burger was HUGE! I could only eat half and once I was FULL. The combination of the sweet peach bacon glaze, melty cheese, caramelized onions and that perfectly cooked burger was EVERYTHING. This was definitely the star of the meal. I also ordered the Jalapeño Hush Puppies. Now, those? Not really my thing. I didn't care too much for them, but thankfully the burger more than made up for it. I sat at the bar because it was pretty busy, and even with the crowd, customer service was AMAZING. Everybody was friendly and attentive. The ambience is cool. Definitely gives bar/pub vibes, and while the inside is on the smaller side, it still works for a casual date night, drinks and a good meal. Bathrooms were clean too, which is always a plus! And one thing I can say about Big Daddy's is that the food is consistently good. This isn't my first time having a great meal here, and it won't be my last. Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY! Would I order that burger again? BABY, I wouldn't even need to look at the menu! Overall: Great food, great service, cool atmosphere and consistent quality. Definitely worth a stop when you're in Old Orchard Beach!

We came here for breakfast specifically and my favorite item ended up not being a standard breakfast food. LOL We were greeted when we walked in and were told we could choose our seats. There were a lot of options on a Sunday at 9am suprisingly in July. They give you menus and then you order at the counter and they give you a table flag number for the server to know where to deliver your food. I ordered a La Croix sparkling beverage, the All American breakfast and a side of chicharrones (crunchy pork belly bites). My friend ordered French Toast and churros. I loved my food a lot. Everything was perfectly cooked. The toast was fine...nothin special. The star of the show for me...Chicharrones!!! Wow, they were spectacular and it was a great serving so I could bring some home to my husband. They are very very rich, so a little goes a long way. i was hoping to have a side of rice with it, unfortunately they do not sell the rice separately. Only comes in the burritto. Bummer The French toast was interesting. It was not "sweet" and the little dish of "cream" or topping wasn't overly sweet either. The churros - FANTASTIC! definitely loved those. The prices are super reasonable. Staff checked in on us a few times. Super nice. I will definitely return, even if it's just for the chicharrones. Plenty of parking nearby

I ordered extra cream sauce. There was a decent amount of seafood too. Chef Dakota makes me want to hop in the car and take that two hour drive JUST for that pasta. It was THAT good! And listen, even the Caesar Salad was top tier. They did not come to play. My Hubby had the Fish & Chips and absolutely loved his meal too. The food was excellent, but the experience was just as good. Service was amazing, the bathrooms were clean, and the inside was CHIC, intimate and romantic. It was the perfect atmosphere for our restaurant date night. Joseph's has that elevated coastal feel without feeling stuffy, and you can tell they take the whole dining experience seriously. They've been serving Old Orchard Beach for decades and have a strong focus on fresh, locally sourced seafood. DO NOT have the disappointment of showing up without a table. MAKE A RESERVATION! You're…read moremet with the lingering scent of beer soaked into the floor from nights that were clearly busier than anyone could properly manage. Now, most people would interpret that as neglect. But that's not quite right. It's evidence. Evidence that this is a place that has been tested, repeatedly, and continues to operate under pressure. And strangely enough, that inspires a certain confidence. You know, almost immediately, the drinks are going to be done properly. I ordered something simple. chicken fingers with buffalo sauce and bleu cheese. Nothing remarkable, and that's precisely the point. They weren't trying to reinvent anything. They were just... competent. And competence, especially in an environment that borders on chaos, is not trivial. It's reliability. It's order, holding its ground. The service reflected that same tension. Reese, the bartender, was clearly under strain. busy to the point where most people would start to fracture, but she didn't. She held the line. And if you've spent enough time in this industry, you know that's not easy to do. There's something almost admirable about watching someone maintain composure when everything around them is loud, demanding, and slightly out of control. And that's really the essence of the place. It's loud... almost aggressively so. Packed. Borderline unruly. At one point, there was a couple engaged in what was clearly a volatile argument... infidelity, perhaps? but the noise swallowed the details. It didn't matter. The specifics were irrelevant. What you were witnessing was raw human behavior, unfiltered, playing out in real time. And oddly enough, it fit perfectly. This is not a place for quiet reflection or carefully structured conversation. It's a place where order and chaos collide and neither one fully wins. But if you're the kind of person who can tolerate that, or even enjoy it... there's something undeniably compelling about it. If you want quiet, look elsewhere. But if you're willing to step into something louder, messier, and far more alive, then this place offers exactly that. It's not refined. It's not restrained. It's something closer to a modern day bacchanal. And for better or worse, that's the point.
