Classic East Coast style Chinese takeout. We ordered a beef and broccoli, fried rice and some chicken wings. Everything was banging, nothing fancy just the same great quality I grew up eating. A little history, my family had a multiple restaurants like this in NY in the 80s and 90s. All the chefs we hired eventually graduate and open up their own takeouts. Decent, but not great, American Chinese food. I moved from Massachusetts to California six years ago. I don't miss Massachusetts, but I do miss the food. In my opinion, California's American Chinese food just isn't very good. My family and I were in Orlando last month on vacation, and Run & Run was a last-minute decision after my husband became too ill to eat at the restaurant we had originally planned. It's not nearly as good as what I'm used to in New England, but the egg rolls came very close. The fried chicken wings had a different type of coating, but the flavor was familiar. The pork fried rice was also similar to what I grew up with and definitely hit the spot. We do plan on visiting Orlando again, but this won't be on our list of places to return to. There are a lot of other restaurants I'd like to try. My husband mentioned that the inside smelled like cigarettes. RESTAURANT: It's your typical Chinese Take-out joint only this one actually have tables and chairs and tv for any diners who want to eat in. It's not very big, a bit cluttered with decor but seems clean to dine in. They also have a fridge with a selection of drinks and some Labubu and trinkets I guess for sale on the counter. SERVICE: Person behind the counter was nice.She gave us option between eggrolls or soda which was great. Food came out in about 10 minutes. FOOD: We ordered the orange chicken with white rice and drink dinner combo and the shrimp with lobster sauce in fried rice and drink. We chose the drink over the eggroll. I did notice that the portion was a lot smaller. They used to serve the food in those white styrofoam containers with compartments. Now, they serve them in those black plastic container with lids. The orange chicken was not bad but it was not as crunchy as we are used to. The fried rice was not fragrant nor did it taste fresh, no flavor. So compare to the shrimp with lobster sauce, you can tell that it was definitely fresh unlike the rice, and several pieces of them were really big and I enjoyed them very much. Decided to try this little Chinese take out joint because they had pork egg rolls that looked good. They were good. This food reminded me very much of Chinese and New England style American-chinese food. We tried: sweet n sour chicken. Crunchy and a tad hard exterior and fluffy cakey layer between chicken and outer edge on the interior. Minus one star because some of the chicken tasted old and I had to remove one bite from my mouth for tasting like old meat. Egg roll: fresh and light and crispy. Nice fresh pork and veggies inside. Broccoli beef: was nicely flavorful but a hair sweet oddly. Velveted beef was mostly chewy and not my favorite so minus one star for that. Steamed rice: good quality not all broken or mushy or old "Crab" cheese wontons didn't even seem to have imitation crab in them and were a touch sweet. Very fresh and well fried not too oily. I've been very hesitant to give this place a try since they seem to cater to delivery to area hotels. (Which isn't a horrible thing) we always order Chinese when we stay at hotels in new towns and even at Disney). I ordered through Uber so the prices were higher than they would be to order directly from them but still a decent price and a big portion. I ordered Ma Po Tofu. I asked for no peas and carrots with mushrooms instead and spicy. They listened which is always a nice surprise. It was decent had good flavor but wasn't the best I've ever had. But I would eat it again. I also ordered the black pepper chicken. This to me lacked flavor. It had some but needed something to round it out. The chicken was cooked perfectly though. My partner and I decided to have Asian food today! It's Sat afternoon, but we found a great Chinese restaurant. It was lunch menu which they serve from Mon to Sat. It was only $8.95. It was tasty, and fresh! No too many take out place has good deal like this in general. My partner got Bourbon Chicken with house fried rice and a can of coke. I am an Asian myself, I used to have many take out foods in nyc but this place was different. It wasn't oily, just right seasonings. I will go back again for sure. The server was super sweet lady. Horrible customer service. I placed an order on their website for delivery. After an hour had passed with no update. I called and asked for an update and they said no driver was coming to get the food to deliver. I understand they use DoorDash, but when I asked for a resolution they said they needed to call a manager. I asked for a cancellation of my order and a refund. I ordered some vegetable noodle dish and I saw the Chinese people come in and get their same exact dish, but there's had mushrooms and a lot of veggies! I specially asked her if there were mushrooms in it and she said yes and when I got it, I just had noodles in there and about 5 pieces of broccoli! We have had random issues with ordering online and have definitely enjoyed some items more than others but our sweet spot is the Honey Chicken combo with egg roll and wonton soup and an order of krab rangoons. They are delicious, travel well, and the entree portions in the combo meal usually make two servings. In most places I've ordered Fried Rice from, include vegetables. The best places include pho noodles. This place sadly didn't do either. However, the rice & shrimp were cooked perfectly. Since this was my first time ordering Lo Mein, I don't have any comparison. But, what I can say, the flavors were balanced & preparation on the noodles was exactly expectation. We were craving some Chinese while on vacation and decided to hit up the nearest Chinese spot we could find. Yelp lead us to Run & Run. So to Run & Run we went. We ordered the dinner size combo of honey chicken combo and a Singapore curry noodles. The honey chicken tasted like it wasn't fresh. The chicken tasted like it was cooked over 2-3 days ago. Yuck. The fried rice that came with the combo was nothing but an egg fried rice. No pork was found. The fried rice lacked flavor and tasted stall. The Singapore noodles is one of my favorites dishes. However, Run & Run's version was disgusting. It lacked flavor & spicy. The noodles just tasted dull. The noodles didn't taste fresh at all. In general, we were highly disappointed. We ate 2 bites of our food and threw everything away. This place is a tourist trap. What a waste of money. If you value fresh and tasty food this isn't the place to go. I completely understand the 3 stars. We wanted Chinese food last night and I yelped the closest to the resort we were staying in. There were several places that popped up and there were certainly many that had higher ratings but we had gone to Animal Kingdom and we were TIRED and didn't want to drive 30 minutes. This place was only 5 miles away and the photos looked good. I ordered the seafood delight, my family ordered orange chicken, double flavors, and a qt of vegetable fried rice. My meal...I asked for Szechuan sauce in my seafood delight. The shrimp were large enough but I noticed poop in a few of them which was a complete turn off, the scallops were WHITE (they didn't pan sear them or anything. Just dropped them in the sauce I guess so you can imagine the texture was soft and bland. Now the lobster! The lobster was a weird imitation version that had the texture of a dumpling (flour-y and mushy) and gross. I picked it all out and threw it away. Needless to say, I ate my veggies that were in the sauce. They were still crispy and pretty good I guess. The sauce though was thin and watery and more brown than the typical Szechuan sauce I've eaten. Im accustomed to a reddish brown sauce and not just dark brown and It was barely any sweetness to it...more salty but too watery. My family said the orange chicken was good but spicy. They didn't even touch the double flavor dish. The meat looked weird. There was beef and chicken in it. I don't think anyone ate any of that one. The fried rice was okay. It was a bit bland but honestly it was probably my favorite thing. It had bean sprouts and broccoli and the traditional carrots and peas. I added a little more soy sauce and it was pretty good at that point. To me, Chinese restaurants typically fall into one of two categories: decent, or terrible. Run and Run is squarely in the decent category. I tried egg rolls, steamed dumplings, wonton soup, and pork chow ho fun. All of them were exactly what you'd expect. I was especially impressed that they sell ho fun noodles, which are flat noodles, as those seem harder to find. So the food gets a solid 3 stars. Nothing exceptional, but nothing terrible. However, they deliver. And even better: they deliver to the Disney Dolphin hotel (and presumably the Swan). That is worth an extra star right there, taking them to 4. If you've stayed at the Dolphin you know that the food is overpriced and mediocre at best. And there are virtually no better options within walking distance (you'd need to take a bus or Uber to Disney Springs for more choices). And the idea of a mediocre room service burger or salad for $20+ isn't at all appealing, even when it's being paid for by an expense account. The fact that you can get decent Chinese food delivered means that you won't have to settle for tl the dreaded Pizza hut delivery. Note, however, that you have to call them to get delivery at the Dolphin. If you try to order online it will tell you that you are outside their delivery area. But you aren't.
