Wow! Must admit, I was skeptical about this whole solar thing. I even posted on Facebook to get all…read morethe advice I could. I even considered doing it by myself. I am so glad I didn't. Brio has been AWESOME! It made it all worth it when my power bill last month was less than $14! They were thorough, efficient, easy to work with, and did a fabulous job! The equipment I got was the best! I have connected my inverter to the internet through my wifi and now I have a web based dashboard and an iPhone app that gives me all the reporting I need for my system. In addition, I get daily emails with information about the energy I am producing. It will also inform me if something goes wrong so I can resolve it. The technicians, our sales rep (Angie), and the people I have worked with at corporate were awesome! In the world we live in today, you never know who you can trust. I have been screwed by all kinds of construction folks in the past few years, so I was really skeptical. But they did everything they said they would do. I had bids and information from 3 other companies. I do not regret my decision for one minute. If you have considered all your options and you are not sure, I would use Brio.

Stuck with 20yr loan that costs double the price of utility power…read more We had a good start with Brio. Their friendly sales rep showed us how we would save because Brio's solar panels will cost the same as our current energy usage, loan terms were low, they'll do all our permit requests, even for our HOA, and help with securing tax rebates to offset some of the expense. After about 6 months of waiting for the various permit processing our solar panels finally arrived and were installed, and we were all happy. Or so we thought. Once Brio got our money and the loans started, things went pear-shaped. The panel array on our roof--supposed to cover our power needs--didn't even cover 30% of our needs. That power the panels generated also cost 2x the price than what we would've paid through our power utility. It took over a year of us repeatedly contacting Brio (most responses involved us needing to call a third party that was great in ignoring our pleas for help) before we got a defunct panel fixed. There is no contract where Brio lays out what our panels will produce--only a contract with a credit agency--so we're stuck with paying double the price of energy (once for the solar panel loan and again for the energy we have to purchase because the panels are insufficient despite claims they would meet our needs) for the next two decades!

Had them install a couple years ago. Based on "your Utility bill will be no more than $8.00 sales…read morepitch", (better than $200-$300 monthly from utility company). Well that was true for a few years no matter A/C or Heater keeping house at 72 degrees. They didn't install panels that will have southern exposure all year long and go into shadow of the neighbors house at 3PM in the winter, so winter months energy output drops off early in the day. We were new here, a new housing development, were getting a lot of door-to-door solicitors, ION being one of them. We'd been thinking about solar for a few months so listened they were pretty smooth, so we signed on. They did say the panels were "USA made and Military Grade so they'll last a long time". Utility bill this month was over $12.00. Don't know if this is a trend They also didn't mention by installing Solar your Roof wind and hail damage deductible will go from $500 to $2500 with AAA!!!!!!!! After install we were connected to ENPHASE (get a monthly production email from them) , which supposedly monitors to system. Post sales service is sorely lacking. My advice is use a local company not one based hundreds of miles away, that is established locally with references, and get multiple Estimates, we learned the hard way!

All I can say is "Wow!" I called Redstone with a service…read moreissue on a solar system they didn't even install. Our original solar company had long since gone out of business, but Redstone stepped in without hesitation. The owner, Chris, was incredibly helpful and personally coordinated for their lead installer to be at my home the very next morning. Karl, the onsite installer, was absolutely outstanding -- on time, prepared, professional, and genuinely courteous. They diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly and correctly. The entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. Karl and Chris represent everything that is good and right about local business. If you need help with solar, don't hesitate to call Redstone.

Utah remains one of the hottest states for solar adoption. Because of the large number of solar…read morecompanies, it's very confusing to know which one to use. Adding to the confusion is when some companies inundate your neighborhood with sales reps going door-to-door, a practice that--to me--is extremely irritating. Rather than choosing a finance company in the guise of a solar installer (more on that later), I searched through Yelp and found Redstone Solar, and I'm really glad I went with them. I had four different companies provide bids for my system. Chris (the owner of Redstone) surveyed my home and made the most easy-to-understand proposal for the system that would match my specifications. He knew I'd be getting Tesla Powerwall batteries as well as a Tesla automobile, so he made sure my system could provide all the capacity I'd need. He was extremely nice and explained the answers to all of my inquiries. That was very different from the other companies, most of which were an absolute waste of time because they were too busy convincing me to buy solar rather than answer my questions or design a proposal. (I'd already decided to get solar, which is why I asked for bids, not sales pitches.) And unlike one of the competitors, Redstone didn't require me to sign any documentation prior to receiving a bid. (That's just craziness.) The Redstone proposal was not the cheapest, but all of the equipment was name brand and after doing some research online, turned out to be some of the most efficient and longest-lasting solar products on the market. Knowing that solar is an investment, it made sense to go with value instead of choosing the cheapest bottom line. Chris and the other folks at Redstone were also the nicest, had the most prompt communication, and never said 'let me get back to you' to any of my questions, proving that they were super knowledgeable about the products and services they offered. All that--along with the 5-star rating on Yelp--helped me feel like I'd found the right company for the job. Another thing I liked was that Redstone is NOT a finance company masquerading as a solar company. Redstone only does solar; They don't try to sell you their own financing, which is something you'll run into a lot when shopping solar installers. Instead, Chris looked around and found that Key Bank had the best rates at the time, so that's where I got my home equity loan. The system was installed in September of 2016 just as the state was about to change the solar net metering rates. Chris knew I was in a hurry to get in under the wire, so he scheduled the installation over the course of a few days rather than waiting for one full day. That was extremely helpful. In the end I got a 6.5 kWp system with 20 Panasonic panels and a Solar Edge 7600 inverter. Redstone worked hard to get all the city permits approved and get Rocky Mountain Power to install the net meter (the unit that monitors how much power you send back to the grid.) They also worked with the roofing company I chose (because I got a new roof installed prior to the solar system) and provided me with all the state and federal forms I needed for the tax incentives. Initially I didn't see profoundly lower electricity bills from November through February (the most challenging months to garner power from your roof, at least in the northern hemisphere.) Still, my average $100 monthly bills were reduced to between $30 and $40 dollars. From March to May (it's getting sunny and the days are getting longer), my monthly bills have been $9.00. That's right: 900 pennies. I'm able to monitor my solar production online and via an app on my iPhone and iPad. It's a real gas to see how much energy I'm generating (a total of 3.9 MWh so far), how much CO2 I've kept out of the environment (6,027.55 lbs.), and how many equivalent trees I'd have to plant (151.82 trees) to make the same environmental difference. In the end I'm extremely satisfied with my solar system and the job it's doing for me, my neighbors (who use my extra solar power instead of fossil fuel-based energy), and the environment. Now that solar power is under attack from state and federal agencies, it's up to us--the citizens of the planet--to make the investments necessary for our world to be here for future generations. Redstone Solar made that process very easy, and I'm head-over-heels happy with the results.

Blue Raven has so far kept its good name in the short time it has been in business. Much better than Solar City and other solar companies. I still stand by what I said above. My only issue and warning is to DO THE MATH YOURSELF!!!! When it comes to calculating how much wattage your system will need, Do add up your yearly total yourself and make sure the system they are trying to give you goes at least 10% over what you need. My system barely covers what they guarantee. With a whopping 50% (Max) savings for my power bill. If you are looking for what they sale, like 0 balance power bill when it's all said and done.(Meaning you should end up selling back just as much energy as you use). Do the math yourself to keep them honest. I'm stuck with a way to small system. That I will have to get upgraded. Customer service is good. they take the time and explain very well that the system is working exactly how it should and the power output is within the system production. They just sold us a system way to small. Yes that means the system is cheaper, but that also means I spent 16K to save 50% (Max usually less) on my power bill. DO YOUR OWN MATH!!! Calculate your own yearly need and add 10%.
