    a close up of a man's legs

We stayed in room 13, a suite, and we found a snake under my bed. It was about 3ft long. See attached photos and video. Customer service treated the incident like it was absurd that we would be distraught over FINDING A SNAKE UNDER THE BED. Details below. I planned my best friend's bachelorette weekend in Montauk, and booked Ruschmeyers. We had a Friday through Sunday booking. Saturday night, we returned from dinner, and a snake was spotted in the room. We looked through the room and discovered a snake under the bed that I slept in Friday evening. We called the after hours line (there is not a single staff member on site at the hotel) and they sent someone to remove it. The snake was huge. (See attached photos and video). It was close to 3 feet long. It was terrifying. The whole night all I could think about was how a snake was under the bed that I slept in the night before. We did not sleep that night. Since this incident happened, it has been difficult for me to fall asleep. I now remove the bed sheets prior to getting into bed at night because I need to make sure nothing is underneath them. I arrived back home to Chicago Monday, and called customer service Tuesday. I was greeted with hostility. The person on the phone made it seem like it was absurd that I would be upset about finding a snake under the bed. They said 1. Well, it's a rural area 2. Well, we did remove it I didn't even receive any semblance of an apology or acknowledgment of how scary the entire incident was. Customer service said " so what are you asking for" and I said I think some form of refund is appropriate. He told me he would call me the following day with an outcome. Wednesday came and went, nothing from Ruschmeyers customer service. I called twice Thursday, no answer. I texted the thread where they had previously reached out to me, no response. On Sunday I had the bride -to- be send an email and explain what happened, with pictures. No answer. She followed up on her email. They finally responded. They said they would give her a call Wednesday. Once they called her, they told her it was really out of their hands at this point, as I waited a WEEK to reach out. I called 2 days after checkout, math is hard for some I guess. It was the same customer service rep I spoke with the week prior. They behaved as if her email was the first time we reached out. They offered a small reduction in the total bill. She called them again and I joined the line. I laid out exactly how many times I reached out, how they told me they would follow up with me and never did. We argued. I explained that at this point. with their lack of understanding and their dismissal of our complaint THAT WE FOUND A LARGE SNAKE UNDER A BED I would expect a full refund. They denied us this. They mentioned that if we visited Montauk again they could offer us some discount on a new booking. To think we would ever stay here again, knowing their casual and dismissive response to our rightful complaint is laughable. We finally came to an agreement that they would refund us a night of the stay. To recap, it took: 10+ unanswered phone calls 5 text messages that were ignored 3 actual conversations with customer service, of which not a single "I apologize that this happened" occurred I am attaching pictures and videos of the snake. It is incredibly disappointing that Dune Resorts treated us so poorly. To treat this situation like it was something overdramatic, or did not warrant us as guests to be upset, well I will let the video and pictures speak for themselves.

    Bar.

Dave Portnoy says go here, I say save your fricken money. $2,500 minimum for an outside table $4,000 for inside. Waited on line for 45 minutes despite an empty bar. Rude staff, no music, no people. This place sucks, go elsewhere.

We got here no one greeted us. Never offered us a bottle service but said we couldn't get in even though there was no line.

Truly, the cocktails and menu at this restaurant are so inventive and flavor packed it feels as if there has to be something supernatural happening in the kitchen and behind the bar. We came here in early May and sat at the bar. Dillon took great care of us, walked us through the menu and made stellar recommendations all around. After having my mind blown by the Everything Bagel Martini, we moved on to share the charred octopus and Leggy's Thighs. The charred octopus was tender, and paired so well with the citrus fruits on this plate, plus the bite of pistachios?! So well put together. Leggy's thighs (RIP Leggy) were literally the best chicken I'd ever had, fall off the bone tender and topped off with flavorful furikake and hot pickled fresno chilis. We also split the Wagyu sando which I'm literally still thinking about. Wagyu on milkbread?! What an excellent idea. Live acoustic music was going on the night we were here which really added to the cozy ambiance. They also have trivia here on Thursdays (Dillon, if you're reading this, we hope your team wins the championship). 10/10 no notes. Come here if you can get a table.

Please Google how much waiters are paid hourly in New York State minimum. It is about 20 dollars. Only the Deep South still pay waiters a low hourly wage. After I left a tip and clearly wrote 10 dollars and clearly wrote the 170 dollar total I noticed the next day my tip was changed by staff to 29 dollars and my bill was now 190 total. I called the next day and said there was a mistake and I was accidentally overcharged. I gave the staff all the grace in the world. I was then asked if there was a problem with the service after giving 10 dollars!! These obnoxious, smug thieves were caught red handed and could not just refund my 19 dollars without first asking why I ONLY tipped 10. I was going to do a police report so it was good they at least credited back my 19 dollars they stole after I caught them. I wish I did not even leave a ten dollar tip. Waiters in New York make at least 20 an hour. You do not owe them another 20 percent. Btw they made my tip 20 percent AFTER taxes were included. I would eat here again tbh but I will pay in cash the next time. Don't use credit cards with these gonifs.

Everything tasted incredibly fresh. I started with the fluke sushi, which I'd never tried before, and it was delicious. (I wish I could accurately describe sushi/fish in better detail, but I can't so just trust me on this one!) For my main course, I ordered the hot lobster roll, and as an avid lobster roll-lover, it did not disappoint. The lobster was served in generous, chunky pieces with just the right amount of butter. It came with fries that were perfectly crispy, though I do wish they had been seasoned a bit more. The restaurant overlooks the inlet, making it the perfect spot to relax and watch the boats come and go. The staff was welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. They also played great music -- that particular day they were playing country music (a southerner's dream!). Last but not least, another bonus is the location. There are several charming little shops just steps away, making it easy to browse before or after your meal. My biggest fear is it's going to be super crowded the next time I'm back in Montauk and I won't get a table. With that being said, I absolutely cannot wait to eat another amazing lobster roll with that lovely view! 5 stars for the lobster roll, 5 stars for the view, 5 stars for the hospitality!

One of a few restaurants open in the offseason, there were only two other people in the restaurant when we arrived. Perhaps we should have taken that as a warning. It was a bit haunting being in such an empty restaurant. Service was quick and friendly, as you might hope. Drinks came out quickly and we were never thirsty. We started with appetizers. I got clam chowder and my girlfriend got shrimp. The shrimp was not fresh and the clam chowder was thin and watery. The main course wasn't much better. The fish and chips were competent but nothing to write home about. Maybe the place is better in the summer season but they are doing nobody any favors being open in the offseason.
