They were having a rough night, but the food we received this till just so so. We may have picked the 2 bad items but not likely

We just had the Christmas feast that Russ' sells. Oh what a bargain this was. Ham steaks (three pounds of them) Glaze Mashed potatoes Gravy (real foodies will call this as Espagnole) Green beans Sweet corn Apple sauce Russ' amazing dinner rolls A whole apple pie Using the old double quarterpounder rule (if you are really hungry you get two quarterpounders) this will feed six people at feast level comfortably. It could stretch to eight without being a big deal. I added Mac and Cheese, (almost as good as my own) cole slaw, and a whole pumpkin pie. I was only feeding four, so three days have passed and we still have not finished the leftovers. Russ' has always been one of my go to places for good food at a fair price. It still is. (Now if I could only get them to wash my dishes for me (just kidding))

Always a treat to stop into any Russ'! The staff are always friendly, food is fresh and reminds me of days gone by. The fried chicken dinner is an absolute must along with a cream puff on the way out the door. The perch sandwich in the picture is also incredible! Love it here, and am excited for the soup and salad bar to open back up sometime soon!

Food was great! Our server was a bit slower on returning to check on us and get our checks, but otherwise my group had a great experience.

Good plain American fare, and good service. We've come back several times now, and the quality remained good.

Went today for lunch, $7.49 for a thin overcooked tuna melt, they even forgot the French fries. Will never go back.

Great food run by a great group of God fearing people. The food is priced reasonably and they are always nice and fast with the service.

I had breakfast eggs, hashbrowns, and toast, and it was absolutely fantastic. The eggs were fluffy and plenty. The hashbrowns were fresh crispy, and vibrant, and the toast which was the sourdough was the heaviest sourdough. I think I've ever had with so much flavor!!! So to be that simple and to be that delicious is what we want. The pricing is outstanding and when I say outstanding absolutely fantastic. Every restaurant should take notice and you'll be having lines out the door like this place does!! The staff and atmosphere are very homey and the food is always well priced and great portions. I tend to overorder whenever I come here but the leftovers still reheat nicely. I'm a big fan of getting the sweet pancakes or sweet griddle options with potatoes or breakfast meat. Everything comes out hot, fresh, and in good time. I think you can order pickup which is actually really cool and I may have to start doing before super long days at work. They have a parking lot right near the restaurant which is very convenient. Overall, I really love Shelley's and think it's a quintessential american diner experience.

We met up with a few friends for breakfast on a Saturday morning and I was surprised it wasn't too busy yet. If you have a group of more than four people, you'll probably need to split up into two booths, as there is only one large booth that seats six people. Our server was so awesome and on top of refills, taking our orders, and keeping everyone's checks straight. I got the Super Plus Breakfast, with three eggs, ham, bacon, and sausage, potatoes, and toast. It was a lot of food but I was really hungry! Nate got the breakfast burrito. I loved my big breakfast plate. The eggs were perfectly cooked over medium, and the sausage links were really tasty. The ham and bacon were okay and the potatoes needed a bit of hot sauce and ketchup, but it was a classic diner breakfast done pretty well. And the prices are great! I'll be back.

This place is an awesome, eclectic, and personable spot with incredible food as well as service…read more The BIzzy Grizzys or whatever they called them were one of my favorite appetizers ever, and I don't typically like things like that. At first I was hesitant because of the price, and it being biscuits, but they made me eat those words and more. It was like a large biscuit muffin top with jalapeño, cheese and honey glaze (I think) and it came with a white cheddar cheese sauce to dip it in that was outrageously delicious. For a guy who hates cheddar biscuits, I've got to say I'm blown away. My wife ordered the steak with fingerling potatoes and carrots. It was on the pricier side, but yet again well worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the veggies were pretty good too. They had live music playing as well tonight. It was a jazzy kind of vibe and it didn't over power anyone talking or anything. The guy had some serious skill too. To top it off, we had some pretty killer service from everyone there. From the hostess taking our names, random servers walking around, and our fantastic server (I forget her name but she was blonde and worked upstairs and had a a really great attitude. The expo or food runner dropping our food off anticipated us possibly needing an extra plate and brought one without asking which was super awesome and ended up coming in handy ( I knew my wife wouldn't finish that steak alone) and she brought it without asking and was ready with a smile to get more. I used to be a GM (I hate when people use this saying but...) truly I know how hard it is to find good workers and the folks running it here seem to have it down. I come from a place where you have to drive 100 mi or more for average service. So seeing exceptional service is really almost too good to be true. I'd definitely stop in for a bite. It's worth every penny. We'll be back for dessert, they have seasonal crème brûlées!

I dined at TOG today for a business lunch and, unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing…read more At the end of our meal, I asked for a to-go box because I had barely touched my food. My guest and I spent most of our lunch talking, and I left with nearly an entire meal. About 20 minutes after leaving, I realized I had forgotten my box and immediately called the restaurant to see if it was still there. The young lady who answered the phone asked where I had been seated. I explained that I was at the very first table at the front of the restaurant. Within seconds, she told me there was nothing there. Her tone made it clear that assisting me was not a priority. Given that the hostess stand is located at the back of the restaurant and I was seated at the front, I do not believe there was enough time for her to actually check before dismissing my concern. After I sent an email regarding the situation, the hostess responded that she had walked through the restaurant looking for the box. Based on the timing of our phone conversation, I find that difficult to believe. In her response, she also stated that she checked with the servers after our call had ended, which suggests that no real effort was made while I was on the phone. What is most disappointing is that I am a regular customer. Today, I paid $56.00 for lunch for myself and my business guest. Between a server who was largely absent throughout the meal and the dismissive interaction when I called about my forgotten food, the level of service fell far below what I have come to expect. Everyone has an occasional bad day, but customer service is often defined by how issues are handled after something goes wrong. In this case, I felt dismissed rather than helped. Unfortunately, after today's experience, I do not plan to return.
