I am very impressed how it was at the end of the night and they did not rush me a bit! This car wash is much better than the other locations in the area. Especially the Fairfield one... stay away from that location! It's a pretty good wash, but it's packed most of the time. It makes me nervous that they reel in one car after the other inside the car wash. I understand they're trying to get people in and out as fast as possible, but being that close to someone else's car inside the car wash is just an accident waiting to happen. The biggest issue I have with this company (not this location.. the company itself) is that they will constantly try to rip you off. When I first subscribed, I was paying $25 a month. Every couple of months since then, they keep upping the price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Whenever I call to question what's going on, the lady keeps telling me the same thing every time "you were at a special discounted rate but that ended" or "you were at a promotional rate that was only for a certain amount of time".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I signed up, I signed up for one plan. I didn't ask them to keep changing my rates whenever they feel like it. Regardless of it being a discount or promotion.. you don't do that without letting the customer know first. Like how is this allowed??? Anyways, my subscription has now gone up to $40 a month. To almost double in prices in just 3 years is ridiculous... especially for a car wash service that takes you barley even 2 minutes to drive thru and where you have to dry off your car yourself. Recently I noticed they charged me almost $10 more than they usually do (so almost $50) and the lady told me it was a "glitch" and the system charged me for a more expensive plan. Yeah... sure... I'm sure that's what happened. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It took her over a week to refund me for the wrong amount charged. She first said "i've refunded you for the wrong amount that was charged, you'll see it in 3-5 days". When I didn't receive my refund after a week, I reached out to her and she says "my apologies, i must've got distracted. I just did it now". Scam Membership - Stay Away! I went to this car wash in December, just wanting a one-time wash. Instead of charging me for a single service, they signed me up for a monthly membership without my consent. After that, they started charging my credit card $28.70 every month, even though I never went back! [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I noticed the charges and tried to contact them, I found out it was impossible to reach them by phone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only way to stop the charges and try to get my money back was to cancel my card and get a new one through my bank. This business - all locations, gives you an offer/price, then they always increase the price whenever, thus trying to rip customers off. I guess the criminal plan is to baot you with one price then rip you off for money, hoping that you dont care. Well, some of us care. I let them go and while i was canceling, someone else was too. The was quality varies from location and some dont have free vacuums. The main problem is that they lie about pricing and they always increase after they locked you in for a couple of months. If Russell's had a little more parking and wasn't crowded af on weekends then I would give this location 5 stars. It is annoying that you have to dry your own car but really is no big deal all things considered. I remember coming here back in the day and 5 dudes would run over and hand dry your car and you didn't need a membership either lol. The good ol days eh? Living in CT or in the northeast in general can be RUFF on cars. All that salt in the winter, that frequent humid air keeping your car so MOIST. Watch out for rust. Also, all that pollen and **** in the air during the spring that clings to your car making your nose stuffed and those eyes water. Every spring I look cracked out due to allergies and it doesn't help to have a car covered in POLLEN. I have a black car so cleaning off bird droppings alone is worth the membership. read more

The only thing I don't like about Rusty Speeders is that when you go there they try to sell you on getting a contract with them. I was heading to a meeting and saw this business along the road. Since I was due for a wash and underspray anyway, I decided to check it out. There were several options, but the attendant apologized that for a full-service cleaning (inside and out), there was an hour wait. I didn't have that time available so, just went for the Exterior Wash. It's your basic machine wash, and the driers are never powerful enough, leaving little spots on the hood and trunk. But, for the price, it was a deal. Next time I'm down that way, I'll do what one of the other reviewers suggested and bring a rag to wipe away those last drops. read more

I went to get an oil change in my car which I have owned for 4 years and right from the dealer ship I have used regular oil. They REFUSED to do my oil change unless I switched to synthetic oil. I explained to the worker that I have regular oil for years and that's what I want and need and he went to ask his manager who couldn't didnt speak to me but instead pointed to the synthetic oil sign and walked away. I refused the service and went to Stratford car care and they happily and carefree changed my oil without it being synthetic. I do not recommend. read more

It is only speedy if you have a monthly membership. I waited in The cash and credit line for 15 minutes while the staff at the front sold memberships to people in front of me. Once again... a disappointment. Thank god they stopped selling me on the monthly fee plan... The machine does a fair job of washing the car but my rims come out filthy... and I need to bring a rag to the gas station down the road... pull over... dry the car... and wipe my rims that look like the machine did not even spray water on them... Perhaps $8.50 is inexpensive but I have to vacuum, dry, clean my rims.. Perhaps VIP for 17 bucks and they do all that is a better deal... read more

I've used this location for a few years now and it's always good. I'm glad that they made their monthly subscription more reasonable. The guys are great and pretty good looking...which is always helpful. Unfortunately, I don't know all of their names but Leonardo has always been cool. The Brazilian guy is really great too. I tried to get the oil change and car wash and after looking at my car for ten seconds was told I have a huge engine problem and would be wasting my time getting an oil change just because they seen something splashed around under the hood. It was actually power steering fluid which was an easy fix. They are unprofessional and have a statue of an African American male who looks like the man from the creep show movie who says " thanks for the ride lady" and I find this racist. read more

I never agreed or "signed up" to future monthly billings when I had my car washed back in September 2019, so I was surprised and angered when I subsequently saw billings for October and November, even though I never had any car washes performed during October and November... Although the management was recently willing to credit my account for the October and November charges, I made it clear that I would no longer be having my cars washed at this car wash company... I hope this helps any customers become aware that they may be "tricked" into being billed for future car washes that they never agreed to... read more

Came here once to have a quick oil change done. They ruined my oil pan (stripped threads) and used a crude replacement plug. Told me that "it was already like that" when I came in when I knew for a fact that it was not. They flat out denied doing any damage and I wound up having to get my oil pan replaced. The company would not reimburse me for the damage they caused. Stay away. read more

I needed a full detailing of my car, inside and out. I called russell speeders in shelton CT and asked for pricing. They couldn't tell me because the manager who deals with detailing was not there, but he'd be there the next day, so to call back tomorrow or call him on his cell phone. Called his cell phone, got no answer. Okay no big deal. Called russell speeders the next day and asked to speak to the manager who dealt with detailing. I was told he still wasn't there, but the associate could help me with questions. We discussed in great lengths, the difference between full interior detail, and full detail. I was quoted at $100 dollars for a full detail non-member, and $90 if i'm a member which I happen to be. I reiterate this was assured to me at least twice if not three times. I left my car in the AM for the full detailing and was told that it would be $175. I explained that's not what I was quoted at, and was told I could discuss it with the manager later when he came in. Came back and asked to speak to that manager. He wasn't there. Instead I was handed a phone to speak to him. He told me that they're an outside company who does detailing and they're not apart of Russell Speeder's and that I was quoted wrong because they'd "never give it even to a dealership for $100." I asked him to honor this since I was misled because quite frankly if I knew it would be $175 i'd have opted out. He said "it wouldn't be fair to him if he had to do that." I paid 150 because that's all "he could do". I tried to speak to a Russell Speeder manager and no one was available to speak to me. If I could give this place a zero I would, don't recommend this place to anybody. Go somewhere else if you need your car detailed. Better yet, save money and do it yourself. read more

Air filter. To the dirty oil pan. I continue to come back for the convenience but wish the costs were lower and they didn't use the sales pitch on me and others. My brother is a mechanic and does my work just don't bother him for basic oil changes. And one man needs to smile more. He is a bit rude. Somehow along the way they decided to use high-milage oil in my vehicle rather than the basic service I had asked for. I was pushed to change my power steering fluid that "needs to be changed every 30k miles"... I was here 6 months ago and had this service done, my car just passed the 36k mile point. No thanks. While I was in the waiting room the technicians kept approaching an elderly woman who clearly did not know anything about cars. they kept telling her that they needed to fix A,B and C and replace X, Y and Z on her vehicle... She checked out before me and her bill ran close to 300$. Clearly the employees here are creating fake Yelp accounts and giving themselves 5 stars. Total ripoff. Went through and got the mid grade ($10.75) wash. After I got through I had to come back because of the globs of wax in the door panels. After I told the attendant what happened he told me to drive around front there another worker gave me a rag and walked away. I had to go get some cleaner from the bay myself and spend 10 minutes clearing it off. I still have to clean the windshield and bugs off the mirrors. Should have gone to Splash Car wash. read more
