Weaverville is a historic gold rush town. I stopped by this candy store. This shop was full of sweets and some nostalgic cash registers and weighing scales. They sold shirts and some apparel, unique goods and made in America souvenirs. Aside from seeing all the vintage candies (Pop Rocks, Bottle Caps, Charleston Chew, 5th Avenue, Tootsie Rolls, etc) they had a little section with lots of... yup! stickers! Yay! After this last visit I had, I don't know that I'll be going back. On top of my (very basic) drinks being wildly disappointing (and as I said, this is now expected) the service was appalling. While I was ordering, the unenthusiastic barista seemed flat out annoyed. Whatever. But while I was waiting for my drinks, there was an older couple also waiting, who went for what they thought were their drinks at the bar. One of the baristas, very rudely, let them know that those were not their drinks. They were somewhat confused and asked a question and the barista YELLED AT THEM??? Telling them that it was someone else's drinks, and they would just have to wait because "making drinks takes time" and "just wait, ugh" with an exaggerated roll of the eyes. These are literally some of the sweetest seeming older folks I've ever seen, and I can't imagine treating them or any other customers this way. Get some therapy and treat people with kindness or don't work in customer service, thanks!

Papa Dogs has a real, lived-in feel, a kind of cute and quaint charm that still feels authentically small-town. They were out of chips so I skipped on that (obviously) The folks working there? Solid. No fuss, no fake smiles, just genuinely kind and efficient. But let me tell you, the true salvation, the damn highlight of this whole pit stop, was that patio. We peeled off our helmets, stretched out, and let the Weaverville air wash over us. It's got that easygoing, unpretentious vibe that just screams "kick back." After hours of white-knuckling it through twisty mountain passes, that patio was pure, unadulterated bliss.

The scrambled egg was the only thing worth eating. It was soft scrambled. The sausage patty was very thin and so overcooked I needed a knife to cut the one tiny bite I had. Tasted cheap. The hashbrowns were the reconstituted kind which is fine except these were like mashed potato inside, just mush. Hard to fuck up an english muffin....except if you use cheap margerine instead of butter. My partner had biscuts and gravy with a side of bacon. The biscuts were hard and tasted like nothing so much as microwaved. The country gravy had bacon in it but super cheap salty bacon. Made the gravy taste bad. So the side of bacon was so gross we didnt even eat it. Too bad. Service was pleasent but not pleasent enough to bring us back.
