Old fashion drive through ( but we ate at the picnic tables) . We ordered deluxe dbl meat with cheese and chicken burger meal. Fun stop!

Rusty burger

We ordered the Rusty burger and fries. The burger is not as flavorful as some but more flavorsome than others. This local favorite will not leave you wanting for more as it is packed with plenty of meat and fixings. As with most burger places they could have a much better product by just adding a shake or two of a pepper or spice blend to the meat after cooking. Maybe we should all start bringing our own. The Rusty is very close to great - just missing that little something.

Large swirl ice cream!

After a Veterans Day walking through Cashmere, exploring Pybus Public Market in Wenatchee, and driving through the Wenatchee Valley area my aunt, my uncle, and I came to Rusty's Drive-In for lunch. We each got a large soft serve swirl (vanilla and chocolate) ice cream. They were even offering a discount for Veterans, so we got a deal on the ice cream since my uncle is a Veteran (United States Marine Corps). We chose to take the drive-thru to place our order. The ordering was quick and the wait brief. The worker we interacted with was kind and we got our ice cream and headed to a nearby parking lot to park the car and people watch as we ate the ice cream. Normally I do not find ice cream filling enough to be a meal. But I have a soft spot for soft serve ice cream and the servings were a lot. By the end of eating my bowl of ice cream my belly was full and happy. Flavor wise, neither the vanilla nor the chocolate were overpowering. The ice cream itself was smooth and not watery/icy as some soft serve ice cream can be. Fun place to stop for ice cream near my aunt and uncle's place in Cashmere.

Not terrible, but not amazing either. It's a decent burger for the area. Remember this place is not speedy...like at all. They cook to order so it's fresh. I would give em a shot. I was disappointed because I wanted a hot dog and Mac n cheese balls and they were out of both. The guy working was absolutely pleasant and very helpful. He didn't rush us while ordering which is always nice.

Baby's first Jr. Rusty Burger!

Every year we head over the mountains in the summer to go camping, and every year, we stop at Rustys. My go to growing up we're the pizza pockets. Me and all my cousins all got the same thing, and we loved it. Now, as adults, we get the junior rusty burger.... and a pizza pocket to go. Haha. My teen decided to get the four patty burger this summer and it was massive! But, he wanted to give it a shot. Also worth mention are the Mac and cheese nuggets. I love them! The kids love them! Finish it off with a root beer shake! You will have a wait, especially on summer weekends. You will wait an hour for your food. So, go to the back lawn and find a table and enjoy the shade. Most of the staff are local teens, so they can be hit or miss with attitude, but it's never anything terrible. Rustys has been, and always will be our family camping staple.

Tonight, the Winter Olympics from Milan Italy were the topic, but my son and I were more interested in having dinner. He eats here often and recommended their Smashburger (see the pic). Nothing about them was smashed--they were humongous burgers--well worth the price, with all the garnishes, and fries. Seriously, you can't leave here hungry! Most of the menu is café and backyard barbecue type food, but the 12 ounce ribeye with a dinner salad and a loaded baked potato really stands out. I posted their current menu, 2/18/26. I'm impressed with the seating-- all solid wood tables and wrap-around chairs with armrests--very comfortable, especially if you're watching the TV for an extended time. One combo-waitress-bartender handled 20 patrons effortlessly--service with a smile! And of course there is a full-service bar in the main salon with a pool table, darts and gaming tables on the side, and lots of offstreet parking. Four stars for sure, maybe five!

All the food was fresh, hot and delicious. The tomato bisque was exceptional! Terry, the cook, came out and said hello, asking me how I liked the meal. I let him know that I'm a trained chef, and his meal was fabulous! The waitress said he's worked there for 15 years, that his specialty is prime rib, served every Saturday. I will definitely be back for that. This bar has been here 85 years, and I moved here 30 years ago but had never been here till this evening. I'm guessing the food here is better than most of the restaurants in Wenatchee. The decor is plain and simple. The ambience is what you would expect in a local bar with a long history and a loyal local clientele. Nonetheless, the service was excellent and the staff was friendly. Even being charged a 4% credit card processing fee, food pricing is better than other restaurants. So are the quality and portion sizes. New tables and chairs with cushioned seating fill two dining rooms. And there is plenty of offstreet parking. All things considered, it's worth the 20 minute drive from Wenatchee down to Rock Island, just to enjoy the food and the drinks. I don't think anyone gets turned away here. What's not to like? This was a five star experience for me.

| Room to Grow, Hoping for Better Next Time…read more We came to Petey's with high hopes. As a long-time Wenatchee resident who moved away in 2017, I was excited to try a new spot after recently moving back. I remembered this location as a family-run Mexican restaurant and was intrigued to see what Luis had done with the place--I've met him in the past and wanted to support the venture. First impressions were promising. We were greeted warmly by a friendly young man at the front, and shortly after sitting down, someone else brought us water without delay. The service started off strong and professional. Then our waitress arrived--and unfortunately, that's where things shifted. She didn't greet us or offer a smile--just asked if we wanted anything besides water. We placed our drink orders, but her demeanor felt cold and unwelcoming. When she returned with our drinks, the energy didn't improve. We placed our food order and hoped for the best. When our meals arrived, they looked good--but we were missing a couple of items. We let her know, and she corrected it quickly, which we appreciated. Still, she seemed frustrated and disengaged throughout. To top it off, while I was still eating, she returned--not to check on how things were--but to ask if we were ready to cash out. I let her know I wasn't quite finished yet. About ten minutes later, I motioned that we were ready, and she dropped the handheld payment device on the table without a word. No "how was everything?"--just silence. It was clear she was ready for us to go. Despite the lackluster service, I still left a 15% tip--because everyone has off days. And I genuinely want this place to succeed. The food was good, and the environment shows promise. We'll be back to give breakfast a try, and I'm hopeful the next visit reflects the pride and care that I know Luis wants this place to represent. I don't leave critical feedback lightly--but I know Luis will see this and take it as an opportunity to improve. - thanks for reading my review

When she brought out the dish, there were two large ones on it because they're normally larger (!) and she wanted us to have the equivalent. It was hot and delicious and between the three of us, we polished off 2/3 of it right away. I ordered the veggie pesto hash. Soooo yummy. I ordered mine without zucchini because it's just not a breakfast veggie to me lol. I did not notice or taste any pesto in the dish but the hollandaise was excellent on top. I tried their gravy to determine what bread I wanted (biscuit was an option) and it was so good. I'm such a gravy snob and this was quite flavorful with a creamy texture. I could barely finish my hash so I didn't touch the biscuit and gravy but our daughter will have it for leftovers this week. Randy ordered the pig and vine bene with hash browns. The bacon on his was crumbles instead of actual pieces of bacon so that was disappointing and he said the hash browns were cooked inconsistently with some of it being overcooked and all of it lacking flavor. Corina ordered the three meat hash and liked it a lot. She could only eat half - the portions are large - so more leftovers for her. This is a super cute place with indoor seating and what looked like a covered patio dining area. We will definitely be back.
