I have visited many Ruth's Chris across the country and have always been very satisfied with food, ambiance and service. This was the first time I felt compelled to comment and caution others. But, let me first start by saying that all the food was prepared perfectly, no complaints there. First, we had reservations, and when we arrived, the greeter basically just pointed to a table as if we were arriving at a breakfast diner. Second, we (2 couples) were seated near the bar area when other seats further in the restaurant were available. Third, they seated us directly next to a table with a very large and rowdy party when seats further away were clearly available. The noise in the room was deafening. After just a few minutes, my ears were ringing as if I was at a heavy metal concert. This was a dinner meeting and we were barely able to talk. We proceeded to order drinks, appetizers and entrees. Fourth the entire time we felt rushed to the point we had to tell every wait staff person to stop, give us few minutes and even ask them to go away. For example, taking plates away while we were still eating. Some of the staff clearly did not understand English, they would just smile and continue to take the plate requiring us to grab the plates from their hands. It was just a very strange experience. Needless to say, we will not be visiting this location again. read more

Five star treatment from start to finish! We decided to dine here on the most romantic and busiest evenings of the year, Valentine's Day! We couldn't have picked a better time to come because everything was spectacular! RC was offering a special Valentine Menu: soup or salad, entrée, and choice of vegetable or potato. Complimentary curbside valet parking in front of the restaurant greeted this party of 5 as we pulled up. We were whisked away to our reserved table on the upper level of the restaurant upon entry. A very cozy and quaint version of Ruth's Chris, not like the one's I've visited in the past, but very nice none the less. Our server, Danny, was very professional and did a wonderful job taking care of our every need. We were here celebrating my mom's Valentine Birthday, and since she and my father had never been to Ruth's Chris before, we sort of went nuts with the side orders and ordered a bit of everything. Everyone ordered a steak and when I say our steaks were melt in your mouth, jump up and down delicious, they were! Whew! Let me also suggest, if you're coming here, you should order a steak. Yes, they have other great options, but it's nothing better than a steak from Ruth's Chris! We each ordered a side to share and of course we had to order cocktails to wash all of this goodness down. Granted, my mango strawberry mojito was watered down and I wondered if it even had alcohol in it, but I guess you can't have it all. We were treated with so much warmth and respect that we're already planning our next trip back. Tremendous service, the birthday girl had a marvelous time, and the food was spectacular! Unfortunately I can't recommend this restaurant due to their policy allowing children during dinner hours. The last few times eating here, it has felt like a Chucky Cheese. Just last Friday, two children under the age of 5 were playing their iPad loud enough for everyone in the restaurant to hear. Then there was an infant crying at another table throughout dinner. If this was Applebees or Cracker Barrel I wouldn't complain, however Ruth Chris in my opinion albeit a chain is a nicer restaurant. I have enough common sense to leave my kids at home with a babysitter or I don't go if I can't find a babysitter. I have respect for other people who are celebrating a special occasion or having a date night. Unfortunately, a lot of parents just don't care and that's why the restaurants should have a policy of no kids. I invite everyone to join the boycott of this restaurant until Ruth Chris changes their policy to no kids allowed. read more

My family goes here every year to Celebrate our sons birthday. Believe it or not, we took him there for the first time when he was five years old and he ate a steak. We just celebrated his 21st birthday tonight! But it's become a tradition, and something we look forward to every year. The service is impeccable, and the food is delicious. The staff is incredibly accommodating and super professional. I have some physical limitations and they have always made sure that I still have a fantastic experience. We have always gone to the Annapolis location, even when the Odenton location opened. Odenton is closer to us, but we have grown to really appreciate and enjoy the environment at the Annapolis restaurant. Yes this is a far pricier meal than most, but for special occasions it is something we definitely feel is worth it. read more

Was lucky to be invited to a holiday party for a local company. Private dining room, beautiful decorations, lighting and tableware. The food was out of this world fantastic! Seared ahi tuna and bang bang shrimp for appetizers. Caesar salad for my starter. I had the "petite " ribeye that was anything but. A huge steak perfectly cooked medium rare. Sides were yummy sweet potato casserole, sautéed mushrooms and roasted asparagus. My dessert was the "personal" cheesecake with fresh berries- it could easily feed 3. The service was also outstanding! Attentive and polished professional. My family and I decided to make reservations at Ruth Chris specifically for the menu pictured. I asked if the special would be available when I called to make reservations and was told yes. Once we arrived, our waiter claimed that he never heard of the special even though it's advertised on the Annapolis location website. Furthermore, our waiter was extremely rude and over talked me when I was trying to explain. I spoke with a manager and was told that the special is available every other day or on select days, I can't remember which. Either way, this was not specified on the website. In the end, we were offered three free appetizers and accepted. To add insult to injury most of the food was strange and bland. The goat cheese and artichoke dip was just weird. The combinations of flavors didn't go together, though the garlic bread that came with it was good. The Rockefeller oysters had hard pieces of something in it. Upon closer inspection, it looked like tiny pieces of glass. And again, the combination of flavors was weird. We had the crab cake as well and that was bland too. My mother wanted to order the crab fried rice with her chicken but didn't want peppers in. The waiter explained that the rice was prepackaged. The food at this restaurant is way too expensive for anything to be prepackaged. I ordered the crab beignets and crab fried rice as an entrée, and both were absolutely disgusting. I knew better than to order the crab fried rice but wanted to try it. It tasted like the boxed Rice-A-Roni at the grocery stores. My mother, sister, and I wanted cheesecake to go. My sister asked the waiter if the cheesecake was homemade, and he said yes. My sister said so it's not store bought, just to verify, and the waiter said do you want it or not in a snarky tone. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for me, and I said something to him about his bad attitude to which he claimed he didn't have an attitude. He did give us a discount on some of the items which surprised me. Because I try to be a good person, I tipped him $20 though he really didn't deserve it and my mother left him a good tip as well. I ate my cheesecake when I got home and that wasn't good either. The filling itself had 0 flavor and the crust had a weird after taste. I've been to the Fairfax location on several occasions and never had an issue with the food or service. I won't be back. read more

So if your looking for the best steak ever then this is it. I ordered the 14oz Ribeye steak and it was so juicy and tender. Had so much flavor it was just delicious. It should be against the law to have a steak so good. I also had mashed potatoes and creamed spinach and that was fantastic, they both had a great taste. For dessert I had the white chocolate bread pudding and let me tell you the bread pudding is just fabulous and probably my favorite. I attended a wedding dinner in one of their private rooms this past weekend. I don't know how much my friends spent on the event so I am only writing the review based on my food and service experience. We were served ahi tuna, stuffed mushrooms and spicy lobster bites as appetizers. They were all very tasty although the ahi was spicy too so for those who don't like spice, they had to stick to the stuffed mushrooms. But all were tasty...I was worried I wouldn't have room for the main course if I continued eating. Next we had a choice of either gumbo or the wedge salad. The salads were huge! Knowing Ruth Chris is from New Orleans I chose the gumbo and was not disappointed. It was also a large portion so I didn't finish it knowing I had the lobster tail and filet for my main course. I tried a bite of better half's ribeye and it wasn't as good as my filet. The filet and lobster tail were outstanding! Sides of asparagus, mushrooms and mashed potatoes were also served and those went well with everything. I pretty much didn't have room for the fantastic chocolate sin cake and cheesecake. I did try several bites and they were crazy good and easily would feed several. Service was fantastic throughout the entire event. Our wine glasses were constantly being refilled. Everyone was really friendly and going out of their way to make this a special event. If the Ruth Chris in San Diego is this good it's time for a return visit! read more

I decided to pick this spot for Father's Day. It was extremely crowded and busy. They had valet parking, gotta love it at your service due to being in a popular area of Annapolis. I was seated fairly quickly based on my reservation. They do have a dress code however they didn't enforce it which was cool because I had on the dad jeans look lol. My waitress was super cool and knew the menu like that back of her hand. I was impressed! I decided to order the 32 oz and man I bit off more than I could chew. It was so good very flavorful I went with crèam spinach for a side along with the lobster Mac which wasn't bad. During my visit a table next to me had a medical emergency so I assisted and support. I must say the gentleman behind me must have noticed because I went outside and came back and my check was paid in full. Instead of the food coming from my 5 min away Odenton Ruth's Chris, which can be sometimes be great and other times meh, it came from this location. Holy smokes the odenton location cannot touch this place if it could! Best juicy flavorful steak I have ever had! Wedge salad so fresh it crunched! And the bacon? YUMMERS! This was my very first experience in a steakhouse. As someone who doesn't eat red meat, the two options on the menu were absolutely fantastic. I wish I had gotten a picture of the tower of onion rings, but they were simply amazing and we both attacked the plate when it came to the table! Our server, Deidra, was super nice and made sure we were taken care of. The host came around and made sure we were well taken care of which was so sweet. Food Review: Stuffed Chicken Breast: a little dry, but super rich and yummy. Spicy Salmon: was my winner of the night. The Thai chili sauce set the salmon apart from everything on the table. Roasted Brussel Sprouts: we're just divine. A little too oily, but again, fresh and delicious. White Chocolate Bread Pudding: I don't think the custard was well soaked before baking, but it was rich and super sweet with the white chocolate drizzle. Creme Brûlée: this was my first creme brûlée. It was too sweet but perfect with the tart berries on the side. I would recommend checking this place out. Parking was daunting, but the complimentary valet saved the day! read more

This was the worst dining experience we ever had. There is no reason to go to Ruth Chris in Annapolis. We told the manager that we sat there for 20 minutes and our server never came back over after the appetizers. Never got any bread and sat there with empty glasses and the plates from the appetizer. Asked her three times for sweetener for my ice tea. Finally I went to bar and got from the bartender. I asked the bartender if they were busy and she said no. She knew we sat there for a long time. The manager was a nice young guy who said he would tell the GM and he would make it right. Well 4 days later and we haven't heard from anyone. So they obviously don't care about their customers or their poor service. There are so many better places to go in Annapolis with much better service and who do care about about their customers. I am a Ruth's Chris loyalist, believe that what separates them from out chains is the service, and have gone to many in my travels. Let me start by saying I'm a huge Ruth's Chris fan. I regularly go to my local location and thoroughly enjoy it. So I came to this location for a work related dinner. I arrived early and the valet was very swift (both arriving and departing). I went to the bar area because our room wasn't ready upstairs. All of the seats at the bar were taken, but they did have tables within the bar so I sat down (as I have many times at other locations) without a host giving me the table. I sat there for approximately 10 mins until a coworker joined me. We sat for another few mins until my coworker went to the bar and asked if we could order drinks. The bartender sent over the waiter. He seemed annoyed that we only wanted drinks and was not helpful in the slightest. My coworker even looked at me and said "I'm not getting the best vibes". To which I agreed. Conversely, our drinks were very good. Soon after we got our drinks we retreated upstairs to our business dinner. The servers up there were much more polite and accommodating. My steak came a little over cooked, but nothing to complain about. It was still super delicious and the event had 40+ people so no need to be a problem customer over a small detail. All and all an ok experience, but I'll stick to my local usual location. read more

I highly recommend this location as you will not leave disappointed. My only drawback to the experience was we had a 7:30pm reservation and we were not seated until 8:30pm.
