Can't wait to return to the Annapolis Peter Chang restaurant. We arrived just after opening and were quickly greeted and provided a seat along the back wall. Our server stopped by our table within minutes of sitting down to greet us and take our drink We stopped by for their first weekend dim sum and happened to be the only guests for the majority of our meal. Every item we were served came out hot and flavorful from the oolong tea to the bubble scallion pancake!

There are a variety of Peter Chang locations, which are fundamentally similar but do have notable menu variations. The chain trends more towards Virginia than Maryland, so I was mildly surprised to drive pass this one in the Annapolis suburbs. But I was glad I stopped in for takeout, because what i got was excellent. A fried tofu and pepper dish rendered with what tasted like cooking wine and some savory sauce was mouthwatering. Where applicable, their menu had options to check a box for vegan preparation to eliminate any doubt. I note that one thing common to Peter Chang locations is that rice is not included, so you do have to order it for a small charge if you want it. Adding some green-filled dumplings was a good choice as well. The location was small, but buzzing, and I could see why.

We had a very enjoyable evening for Peter Chang's soft opening in Annapolis, MD. First night serving food. They did not disappoint. The menu was extensive with many choices from tapas, Dim Sum, and main dishes. A huge plus, they have Soup Dumplings! The seafood crispy noodles were a favorite. I loved the shredded cabbage, so flavorful. The scallion "blow up balloon" pancake was really fun to share and dip into a savory sauce. Finally! A real Chinese restaurant in Annapolis. We will be returning often. Go check them out asap!

Peter Chang absolutely exceeded my expectations. Every dish we ordered was packed with bold, authentic flavors and beautifully presented. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The dim sum and shareable plates were perfect for trying a variety of dishes, and each one somehow managed to be better than the last. The atmosphere is modern, welcoming, and great for everything from date nights to dinners with friends or family. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations that we probably wouldn't have tried otherwise. Annapolis has needed a restaurant like this for a long time. If you're looking for Chinese cuisine that's far beyond the standard takeout experience, Peter Chang is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu!

Wow did this knock our socks off for dim sum! We went on Sat afternoon around 2:30...and it was still lively ambiance. The restaurant was brand new and still had some things wrapped in styrofoam. Our waiter was super attentive and courteous. He made sure to check in on us and was patient with us while we made our selections. We got so many small plates, but what stood was the bubble pancake (especially the turmeric dipping sauce), pork shu mai, dry fried eggplant, honey pork ribs, and crystal shrimp dumplings. Everything came out quickly and hot and fresh! They don't yet have the AYCE dim sum yet, but maybe next month after they get the kitchen staff to keep up with the demand. Definitely recommend! And next time we will get the roast duck!

You need to have the duck. Peter Chang knows how to cook a mallard. Wow. The king pao chicken and shrimp are awesome too. All of the dishes are unique and delicious. This location is pretty new so they only had tea and soda cans for beverages. I love the lazy Susan on the table for eating family style. Try clean and attentive staff.

    Very reasonable for lunch

We visited this new location of Peter Chang's today for lunch, and we will be back for more. My friend and I decided to share some dim sum/tapas type items. She had a cup of hot and sour soup. We shared the spicy dry fried eggplant, which was cut into sticks. We saw orders of the puffy golden scallion bubble pancake going by, so we had to try that. It came with a little pot of a nice curry sauce, which the server said they make in house daily. The vegan Dan Dan noodles were very tasty, with little crispy cubes of tofu. We also tried the pork and shrimp shumai, which were yummy too. The lunch prices were extremely reasonable. We waited a while before our server found us to begin with, but then he took good care of us. I will definitely go back to try more items.

We came as a party of 2 on a Saturday afternoon, around 11AM to try to beat the brunch/lunch rush. Dim sum is mediocre. The kids who push the cart around I feel like didn't grow up going to dim sum at metro chinatown (NYC, NJ, Boston, etc) in the 90's on a weekend yum cha spot when its literally organized chaos at best. The dim sum is ok, gave off kind of pre-packaged vibes. Which is fine... if it didn't cost $6 a dish. We didn't want to shell out more on mediocre dim sum so we decided to get a pho bowl each, which was a mistake because we overate by the end of it. The pho was wonderful, nothing special, and tbh I think is the stronger suit the restaurant should lean more on Like the old adage - jack of all trades or master of none - they do both things mediocre (the pho performing a bit better) but they don't do either one of them really well - which IMO makes a difference because there are literally SO many other options in the area yuo could pick from

This was my first time eating Pho and the waiters took their time to explain to me what it was. They shared different ways to make the food taste better and brought me condiments to accompany the meat, which they had recommended. With all the debates going on about tipping I think it's important to note when service is exceptional and worth much more than the standard tip. This experience was and I made a point to telling the waiters and (over)tipped accordingly.

Ordered everything we wanted and every dish was flavorful and delicious. Only thing is some dishes need to be tweaked a little. Har-chaw dumpling skin is a little too thick for me. Shrimp ball is too mushy and sticky rice was a little dry. But everything had the right amount of seasoning. No soy sauce or chili oil needed. The cherry on top? The silk tofu dessert. One of the best ones I've had so far! Would definitely come back.

Really wanted to give this place a try but the service was lacking considering we were one of the few tables there. Some selections came out cold/spoiled tasting so we ended our meal short. Unfortunately I got food poisoning soon after. The moment I saw the cart sitting out I SHOULDVE ran for my life, but I was hopeful since I saw some good good reviews. I'm thinking it's only worth it weekends since most of the bad reviews are made for their weekday service. Side note the host was watching Chinese tik tok/dramas even when we went up for assistance/did not care for us. We wanted to try ordering food instead after an underwhelming dimsum but just gave up. If you were to dine in just go straight to ordering from the menu. The tables that ordered off the menu seemed to have a better experience... Truly an experience. I'll give 2 stars only because we only had a couple items but not sure if we want to risk trying this place again. The workers were nice but they just seemed confused or bored.

The orange beef had a pleasant orange flavor, but it was so strong that it completely overwhelmed the flavor of the beef itself. The chicken with mixed mushrooms had the opposite problem--it was surprisingly bland and lacked seasoning and depth. What was especially frustrating was that the entrées arrived without rice. I have absolutely no issue with rice being sold separately, but the online ordering menu should make that clear. Had we known the entrées did not include rice, we obviously would have ordered it. Instead, we discovered it only after the food arrived, which made an already disappointing meal even more frustrating. Given NiHao's reputation and price point, I expected much better balance of flavor and a more thoughtfully presented delivery menu. Unfortunately, this experience did not live up to those expectations.
