Went here for a 6 year anniversary celebration and the staff was great. We got great drinks and the 8oz filet medium I had was cooked to perfection. Also had the au gratin potatoes which were delicious and the cheesecake for dessert. I got my steak Oscar style and I guess the meat was so hot the lobster slid right off but other than that the ambiance was incredible and I would definitely recommend and eat here again. Birthday celebration. Excited to finally try Ruth's Chris Steak House. They really go out of their way to help celebrate your special occasion. Adorable birthday confetti sprinkled on the table. Birthday card from the staff on the table. A candle in our cheesecake on a decorated plate. Five stars for this aspect of the meal. Service was exceptional. Alejandro was so very knowledgeable, and super sweet and attentive. Each staff member we encountered was equally attentive and pleasant. OK then...why only four stars, you must be asking. Sadly, it was the food. We both ordered the special, which includes a starter (salad or onion soup), an entree (filet and shrimp, salmon and shrimp, or stuffed chicken breast), a side (mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, or Brussels sprouts), and a dessert (cheesecake or chocolate cheesecake). All of that for $60. The salad was delicious. We both had the filet/shrimp combo. Both ordered medium. One was medium rare. One was medium well. Both were over salted. The medium well steak (mine) was very dry. The shrimp on both orders was overcooked/rubbery. The sides (mashed potatoes and creamed spinach) were both yummy. The cheesecakes (one regular and one chocolate) were both very good. I requested no berries or syrup on my plate due to an allergy. The berries and syrup were served on the plate, but were not touching the cheesecake, so I didn't complain...but still an error that one wouldn't expect in a fine dining place like this. So services and ambience get a strong five stars. Food not so much. Will we return? Probably not. read more

Overall the food was good. But poor customer service follow through. We had one issue that wasn't responded to, after emailing the GM and managers at the location and their corporate office. It's how a restaurant responds to issues, even the smallest ones, that sets them apart from their competition. Here is what I sent with no responses to date from Ruth's Chris. Hello Taylor, Tony and Drew, Yesterday, my wife and I celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary at your restaurant. It was our first time at a Ruth's Cris and had heard good things from people who have gone to your locations in the past. Our appetizers, main course and side dishes we all very good. All the staff greeted us very cordially and our server, Jennifer, was informative and very good overall. However, I wanted to let you know of one issue that occurred that I thought Ruth's Chris should have addressed better. We ordered 2 desserts and 2 cappuccinos. One thing my wife and I enjoy after all these years are good cappuccinos with our desserts. When the "cappuccinos" came out, they had a very thin layer of foam. They were served as Lattes and were not cappucinnos. When we asked our server if this is how they usually make cappuccinos, she stated that the coffee machine wasn't working properly and that she had tried to double steam the milk but still couldn't get it to work properly. She asked us what we wanted to do and we were stumped on how to answer. I thought our server would have provided a Ruth's Cris' solution such as, "I'm sorry, that we were unable to make your cappuccinos, I'll take them off the bill.", or some other considerations. The server's trainee said she would try to redo the drinks. but by the time she came back with them we had already finished our desserts and they still were still lattes. When we got the bill, I was surprised that, at the very least, that the cappuccinos weren't taken off the bill. At an establishment of your caliber that would have been, at a minimum, one of the ways to handle the situation and keep your customers happy. I didn't bring this up yesterday as I didn't want to detract from my anniversary dinner with my wife. The way a restaurant handles issues is what separates them from their competition. read more

Everything here was absolutely incredible from the service to the ambience! I'm so excited that Ruth Chris chose to come to Block 59, the energy of the team definitely brings a needed vibrant change to the area. The food was also phenomenal. The happy hour menu probably has the best value proposition in the aurora and Naperville area among high end steakhouses. This is a nice addition to the Naperville block 59 scene. We arrived at 4:30. There was no wait. But if you want to try happy hour food, you will be seated at the lounge area, which is fine. The happy hour menu has bar type of food like burgers. But the quantity and quality were both good. We ordered a large ribeye. It was enough to feed family of four. The meat was excellent. Cooked to perfection. The lobster Mac and cheese was spectacular. They literally put several lobsters on top of each Mac. Real fresh lobsters! read more

Glorious! We have enjoyed dinner at many different Ruth's Chris restaurants. Each has its own unique character & design. The new one in Naperville is so upscale. The decor and lighting and colors and textures lift your spirits. It's so rich and luxurious. The food is decadent. I love that steak is hot from the beginning until my last bite thanks to the piping hot plates they serve it on! The service is beautiful- so attentive! Our server, Julia- was a delight! Upon entering the restaurant we were warmly greeted by the hostess who knew we were celebrating a birthday. That was a nice touch. The atmosphere was pleasant and the ambiance was a modern contemporary decor that is pleasing to the eye. All aspects of service were stellar. From the waiters to the support staff and a brief visit by a manager, to wish our birthday girl a happy birthday, felt like the training on communicating to customers a consistent message of genuine appreciation for us dining there was at the top of their list. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu items and gave us his honest opinions of the choices we were contemplating. I must admit he was spot on. We ordered the 8 ounce filet and scallops, the lamb chops and crab cakes entrees, the tenderness of the filet felt like butter and perfectly seasoned. Scallops were tender and beautifully seasoned as well. The lamb chops were robust in size and so tasty my that my friend was literally sucking the bones. Crab cakes were filled with 90% meaty crab and very delicious. We also ordered a wedge and Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was prepared with homemade Caesar dressing. Very tasty! Wedge salad dressed with blue cheese crumbles and bacon was also tasty. For the appetizers we had the spicy shrimp and calamari. Spicy shrimp reminds you of bang bang shrimp. It really wasn't very spicy but the sauce it was prepared with made it a go to appetizer. The only disappointment in the meal was the calamari. The flavor and the tenderness were pretty standard for fried calamari, but the sauce they poured over it ruined the crispness of the breading making it unpleasant to eat. Couldn't finish it. Overall, it was a pretty good experience and the food tasty and presented on 500 degree plates is a nice touch I have not seen in other steakhouses. I was looking forward to my first visit based on rave reviews from a relative. I was very disappointed. I don't eat beef so I ordered the salmon and shrimp with lobster Mack and cheese. I was really excited to check out the new Ruth's Chris location in Naperville on Saturday, March 21st at 6 PM. The plan was to enjoy a night out with friends--good food, drinks, music, and catching some March Madness. The restaurant ambiance is beautiful, and the bar area is a nice size, though it fills up quickly. The waitstaff and hostesses were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which definitely added to the overall experience. The food was decent--everyone in our group agreed it was good, but not quite "wow." My seabass had to be sent back as it wasn't fully cooked and lacked flavor, but the rest of the meal was solid. The bar, however, was noticeably slow, with long wait times despite having multiple bartenders working. That said, Tiffany and Magic truly stood out--they were the highlight of the bar experience and provided great service despite how busy things were. Overall, we had a good time and would consider giving this location another try. However, one aspect of the experience was disappointing. During our visit, we encountered a manager named Laura (who I later learned is from the Rochester location). Her demeanor came across as inconsistent--very warm and engaging with some guests, while others experienced an extremely noticeably different, less welcoming, friendly and unwilling to help and assist approach. Hospitality should feel inclusive and consistent, especially for guests coming in to relax, enjoy their time and spend their hard earned money. In today's environment, where people are spending their hard-earned money to unwind, great service across the board really matters. I'm hopeful this was just an off moment and that future visits will reflect the high standard Ruth's Chris is known for. If you stop by, I definitely recommend connecting with Tiffany or Magic at the bar--they'll take great care of you! read more

First day of service so I expected a few glitches - there were none. The place is beautiful, with walls that can be moved for private parties. The service was perfect. The server, David, was very knowledgeable about the menu and the types of steaks. He was attentive and made great recommendations. Took family here to celebrate my wife's bday. When we arrived, everyone wished her a happy bday without prompt. There was a nice card for her on the table with confetti. Food was great. Steaks are all prime, cooked perfectly. The brusselsprouts were delicious. They provided us with bday cheesecake (so kind). The bread pudding is worth trying...so good. The place is new, exceptionally neat, well-staffed, and pleasant. We were there on a Tuesday...not sure how weekends will be, but advise making a reservation. read more

We have been a fan of Ruth's Chris for decades and we're excited to try the Naperville location for my husband's birthday. I loved that they decorated the table a bit for the birthday and all throughout the dinner, our server Bryan and others, called us by name. Nice touch! Food was top notch. We started with stuffed mushrooms. Had a simple salad and then treated ourselves to a tomahawk steak. So tasty! Sides of a gratin potatoes and asparagus were also tasty. The whole night was wonderful and we look forward to returning. Our only suggestion is that the bar get a better selection of additive free tequilas. read more
