We have a group of 8 people for New Year's Eve. Has a hard time finding a place that had room. This place was great. When you walk in, you wait in a bar area to be seated. The walls are COVERED in Polaroids of past guest parties. Absolutely everywhere. We looked and saw pics that dated back to the late 1980s so we figured this place had to be good. It's been in business forever. Once we were seated the server was alittle slow to come greet us. She was not super attentive and seemed like she wasn't listening but she got all of the orders correct. The grill ninja guy was great. Loved him. He put on a great show and was very personable. He also did an amazing job with the food. Everything was amazing. We have been talking about it for days how good it was. We are from Ohio so we were just in town for the holiday staying with friends. No one had been to this place and all of us were left very satisfied. They all said they would be back for sure. Best hibachi they had all been to in the area. My husband has a shellfish allergy, which our hill ninja asked about up front, and then left all the seafood til the end to cook up last. The soup was flavorful and delicious. The salads were great. Loved the dressing. There was a lot of it and the flavor was on point. I got steak and glazed honey chicken. They said it was spicy and I'm kind of a wuss but the flavor sounded good enough to try it. I was not disappointed. The chicken was amazing. It had a kick but it wasn't burn your face off. The steak was delicious. The yum yum sauce was delicious. The noodles. Omg the noodles. You get both noodles and rice here. The noodles were amazing. I could have been happy just eating those. My mai tai was decent. Pretty sweet. Didn't seem super strong. But it was good. The group did sake bombs. They were $14 which felt alittle steep but everyone had fun with them. The server showed them all how to do them properly so that was fun. Portions were great. Good was fantastic.

I had been hearing so much about Shogun and its hibachi food that I decided to finally stop by and give it a try myself. Right off the bat, the inside is very aesthetic and there's Polaroids all over the walls from YEARS ago, showcasing all the different celebrations that have taken place here for so long. Even to this day, they snap a picture of you at the end of your meal and give you the picture to hang somewhere in the restaurant, which you can find when you come back! They start off with soup and salad, which is light and refreshing. Theres also tons of appetizer options on the menu, we didn't have any ourselves but a lot of people around us did and liked it a lot. The food consisted of choice of meat, veggies, rice, AND noodles. Most hibachi places offer rice OR noodles so this was a great surprise! I got the chicken and veggie and my husband got the steak and shrimp. I will say that Shogun is on the sweeter side when it comes to hibachi. Every single thing on my plate tasted more sweet than salty or spicy. We did have to order some hot sauce on the side to balance everything out, but if you enjoy sweet, you'll love it. Everything was well cooked, well flavored, and came in huge quantities so there's always tons to take home. The noodles were amazing so I would definitely order extra when you visit because they're so soft and your plate is finished before you know it! It's a great spot for celebrating anniversaries and birthdays because the chefs are always so fun and watching the food get prepared in front of you is such a treat! Would recommend if you're in the NPV area but be sure to get reservations ahead of time!

Best Hibachi in the western suburbs! Staff is great, including but not limited to Lisa, Christian, Tru, etc. The food is on point, and still the best value you can get! They will customize your food and experience to any occasion, so let them know you're celebrating something and it will be a great outing! I highly recommend this place!

Egg yolk shrimp is still as amazing as I remember it 20 years ago.

Great food! Easily the best hibachi in the area, and a great price! I love that they still serve egg yolk shrimp too.

Service was great - the ordering, soup, salad, drinks and refills. But the hibachi chef was sub par - not much show.

My group chose to sit in the sushi lounge since none of us planned to order hibachi. I'd say this place is moderate size when compared to the franchise Benihana. Service throughout was pretty good, at times it was slower. However, I noticed Lisa, our server, was assisting the sushi lounge and hibachi tables. She was busy busy, so I understood why things look a little bit longer. I tried 3 different rolls - Paradise roll, Butterfly roll, and the Spider roll. All are very different from each other, which I planned on purpose. Very tasty and the portion is generous with a fair price. I had plenty of left overs which my husband was grateful for haha. I really like this place and am planning to come back to try their hibachi items too.

Only carry a few soda choices and those are in 20 Oz bottles. The waiting area smelled weird and pretty big hole in a couch where you wait. Noticed lots of air purifiers scattered thru the business . The waitstaff was prompt but they were just standing around waiting for something to do. Way to many chairs at the hibachi tables. Had to move quite a few to be comfortable. Very light traffic for a Thursday night. 2 tables had customers at them. We had 4 and the other table had 4 at it. No mind you the food is not cheap. They dont tell you what the price on say lobster or scallops just says mkp. They charge for everything, If you want garlic breading or golden sauce it not included. They gave us maybe 3 tablespoons of garlic breading.

Our server, Katie, was amazing. She was attentive, funny, and gave great recommendations on both food and drinks. The menu has a wide variety of options, so her guidance definitely helped. We ordered hibachi, which was delicious and a fun experience. The chef put on a great show and even gave us cues for slow motion videos, which made it extra memorable. A few people in our group ordered sushi and said it was really good as well. I had the shrimp dinner and added calamari on the side. The shrimp portion was generous, and everything tasted great. My only complaint is the noodles. They were very thin, similar to Pad Thai noodles, and I personally prefer thicker hibachi noodles. The soup was one of the best I've tasted. The ambiance was cute and spacious, with a cool fish tank and the drinks were a highlight. I had a coconut sake drink that was so good I'd honestly go back just for that. Overall, great food, fun atmosphere, and excellent service. I would definitely return.

So, on a whim, when making a Valentine's reservation, we decided to visit Domo 77. Now, to be fair, it was a holiday, and a popular eat out holiday at that, but the staff appeared confused, unorganized, and frazzled. We arrived at 5:45pm for our 6:00pm reservation, and based on the other 6 we were sat with, we lucked out being sat right away - they had 5:30pm reservations. After we were sat, drinks came quickly, but it took a FULL 50 MINUTES before food was on the grill. Half of our table (a family of 4 with kids) left, because the kids were hungry - and again, while it is Valentine's Day, they had a 5:30pm reservation, and they finally walked out after over an hour. We and the other couple stayed, but after all was said and done, we spent 90 minutes from seating to receipt. The food was good overall - we had gyoza dumplings, and Mai Tais for drinks, both were great. I went with steak and scallops - the scallops were pretty sloppy and underwhelming, but the steak was very well done. My husband had steak and chicken, and it was also quite good. So while it scratched that 20 year itch, it was just ok. I probably won't be back on purpose.
