Our waiter (sorry I forgot his name) was very friendly and helpful, he recommended a couple dishes and they were all good. Yesterday, we had dinner at Ruth's Chris, and I noticed that the quality of the food has declined. We've dined here before and experienced great food, but this time it was mediocre at best--nothing special at all. If you're spending $80 to $100 per person, the experience should be worth it more importantly the food. The quality! I would recommend Steak 48 to anyone who truly appreciates good quality meat and food. In my opinion, this place deserves only 3 stars at best. Let's talk about a steakhouse experience done RIGHT. I was out in Pasadena and made a last-minute reservation at Ruth's Chris. It had been years since my last visit, and honestly, I have no idea why I ever stopped coming. First things first--our waiter understood the mission. I ordered a dirty martini and made it very clear: I wanted it stinkin' dirty. And let me tell you, that martini was so perfectly filthy it should've come with a PG-13 warning. A+ execution. Then came the food. That signature sizzle of a steak arriving on a heated plate, swimming in butter? Music to my ears. My filet was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, and the only thing I regret was the asparagus was a bit tough. The service? Top-notch. The atmosphere? Classic and cozy. The butter? Parking: After 6 pm, parking on the side streets in front of the meters is free. Or you can park in the Big Colorado parking structure but there is a parking fee. Chef's special: Lobster Bisque would not recommend it. Kinda tasted more metallic than seafood. House Salad sauce was light and the greens were fresh and cripsy. Would recommend as a starter because the dessert and entree will fill you up. Lobster and Steak 6 oz (medium rare) side was mushrooms. The steak was cooked and seasoned well. The lobster tail was also cooked perfectly. There was a heaping portion of mushrooms for a side dish. Tip: You can switch out the sides for an alternative but it will be a $5 charge. You however won't be able to order the lobster Mac and cheese side. Shrimp and Steak 6 oz (medium rare) side was Brussels sprouts. There were 3 jumbo shrimps and they were so juicy. Brussels sprouts were more on the mushy side not the crispy kind but still good. Cheesecake: One of the best cheesecakes I have ever had! If this review was based on service alone , it would be a 5 star review . All the staff were amazing and very attentive. Destiny was our main server and she took real good care of us . My husband and I decided to ring in the new year and treat ourselves to a yummy steak dinner instead of exchanging Christmas gifts this year . We ended up deciding to try this place since we've never been and heard nothing but good things. Destiny went above and beyond going through the menu and explaining things since she knew it was our first time dining with them. Everything sounded so yummy I couldn't wait to try everything . We ordered 1 ribeye each and shared the potatoes au gratin and creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was very watery which I was rewlly bummed about and both of the sides came out lukewarm so by the time they hit our plates , they were cold. We ordered the ribeyes medium rare but mine came out more medium and my husband's was basically well. I will say that the marbling around the steak was very tasty but once we started to really cut through the steaks they started to become tough. My husband gave Destiny the heads up about how tough his steak was and he's normally not one to say anything about his food if there's issues so I was surprised. Destiny did agree that the steak was definitely not medium rare and offered to fire a new steak for him along with bringing out a fresh batch of the spinach as well(we didn't mention anything about the sides being cold or the spinach being watery so I'm wondering if she noticed the spinach was watery too).anyways , he ended up declining but just wanted her to let the kitchen know . She then offered us some dessert so it definitely helped with the overall experience on top of her taking care of some of the things on our bill . Came in to Ruth's Chris for a date. We got there right when it opened up at 4pm. We ordered Calamari as an appetizer (not pictured) which was delicious. Also, we Lobster Bisque soup which was delicious. I'm not a seafood person but this tasted good to me. For main appetizer we order Filet Mignon and also Ribeye with Shrimp. The cuts were very flavorful and delicious! This is the second time I have the Filet Mignon and it doesn't disappoint. As a side we got the asparagus and it was delicious. For dessert I don't think we got the right one as it was the flourless sin chocolate cake. It's definitely thick and chocolaty but won't order again for sure. The service was great. Our server Jessica was very attentive and friendly. Definitely a highlight. It started horribly wrong but it ended in great satisfaction. They literally forgot about our table for the first 30min, but it was a simple human error, they were busy. Since this was our anniversary, we were not happy about the initial experience. After notifying the staff, they really made it up. Exceptional service! The place was busy but good vibe. The food was great, however, they do use a LOT of butter. I love butter, but i figured it may not be the same for everyone's liking. Poke stack was just okay, the cucumber bottom made it difficult to pick up. Overall the ambiance was fine. Wow, I can't believe this was my first time eating here. My parents were in town to celebrate my surviving open heart surgery 3 weeks earlier. Despite the fact I as the only one who didn't order red meat, everything I did have was delicious. We ordered appetizers and cocktails first. The family all had rib eye steaks and we ordered several family style sides to share.I had the crab cakes (delicious!) and lots of veg. At the end, I was served a special dessert that was dairy-free and had "Congratulations" written on the plate, while the family gorged on cheesecake, creme brûlée and bread pudding. The service was truly the best part, though. I pulled aside our server and told her that both my parents are hearing impaired and Mom is blind in the right eye. Everyone who served us was careful to approach Mom from the left and to get both parents' attention before speaking to them. Lighting is dim so may make it hard to see menu or take good food pics. Ha. The 2 servers assisting us for the evening were Cora and Anthony. They were amazing. 10/10 on service. Food was very good but not as great as I remembered. We split a cowboy rib eye, Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese for sides. The rib eye was very good but not as great as I've had at other steakhouses with similar price points. The Brussels sprouts were good but felt like it was missing something. My wife says it needed more balsamic vinegar. I do like that they have a kids menu. My kids had the sliders and the kids salmon from the kids menu. Sliders were tasty but the salmon was a bit undercooked. Overall a very nice experience. They don't have a parking lot. You can park on the street or one of the parking lots nearby for a fee. This isn't my first time dining here. I enjoy their menu items; however, their customer service needs some work. First off before I get into the food and the issue, let me praise my waiter, Alec. All around great service on his part. I don't blame the reduction in stars on him one bit. Excellent and friendly service from this guy. 5 for Alec. Now the food and the issue... I sat in the bar/lounge area as it was nearly a 3 hour wait without ressies. Keep in mind this was at 4 p.m. I thought I'd be the only one dining at the senior citizen time lol but boy was I wrong. No biggie, all the bar tables were open and as stated above. I got a great server. I ordered the prix fixed menu and chose: (1) lobster bisque; (2) creamed spinach; and (3) chef's choice dessert (personal sized cheesecake). I also ordered a side of garlic mashed potatoes because you can't have steak without either of the sides I got. The lobster bisque was nothing to write home about. No complaints, just didn't live up to the best lobster bisque I have had, which was at a wedding at the Bellagio. Now, when they brought out the entree, "the mashed potatoes" did not look like mashed potatoes. When I inquired I was told they brought me someone else's food. Ok, no biggie, not going to make an issue out of it - just fix it. So Alec tells me to keep the steak while they cook me a new one. The manager, however, came to pick up the wrong steak and to inform me regarding the mix-up. So, I was left with my sides until my steak was ready. Not a long time passed but while this was going on, my sides were already sitting on the table. Again, Alec was not the one who brought out the wrong order. Once my steak was brought out, it was tasty and cooked to my liking as depicted. The mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were also on point as they always are. For dessert, I ordered an affogato and had my cheesecake packed to go. The affogato doesn't even require a review - if you've never had one and are a fan of espresso, try one. You really can't mess up espresso and ice cream. I parked valet and had this added to the bill. Keep in mind the sign outside says $14 but I was charged $16 (had them add the valet amt to the bill). You will see other reviews also state valet is $14. ‍ When an order error occurs, it is customary for the restaurant to comp something - an amount off the bill or a dessert. I've never had an order mix up where the restaurant didn't take it upon themselves to do something nice for me. If you're wondering if I asked them to comp me, no and I shouldn't have to - that's what good customer service is all about and I'm heavy on that factor. As you can see from the bill, this was not a Taco Bell priced meal. Do better, Ruth's Chris for your customers (and don't you try to hold Alec responsible as he's not at managerial level). Is the food here good? Yes, I've always enjoyed it. Can the customer service be worked on? Absolutely. Parking tip: I should have thought of this - park at the mall across the street and save yourself the valet charge. You're welcome. read more

I was already a huge fan of Ruth's Chris. Their food is fantastic, the value of Ruth's Classic is one of the best deals out there, and the staff is always great. That being said tonight's experience took it up 10 notches. How much is a notch, I have no actual clue, but my point is my family had one of our best dining experiences ever. Wally was the absolute greatest right from the moment we sat down, and Robert was also super attentive and helpful. I mention their names because anyone reading this should ask for them when you dine at this location. What made our dinner so great tonight was that we were welcomed into the restaurant and treated like family. Not like a cousin you're not sure you like and barely see, but like a favorite uncle or sibling. We had a large party for a birthday, and Wally made sure to acknowledge that many times, take care of my parents, my brother (whose birthday it was) and everyone else at the table to ensure the food was to their liking and came out quickly. Everyone left with a smile on their face, and although this location is definitely not the closest to my house, I would come back specifically because of the A+ experience we had tonight. The Anaheim location has an open air feeling to it. Bring $8 for valet parking because honestly there's no where else to park. The bread is fresh and hot with whipped butter. The appetizers our server Terri recommended were great, we had the BBQ shrimp and crab cake, but she also enlightened us by recommending the pomegranate martini which my husband claims is the best martini he has ever had and even ordered a second one (which he never does). Terri also had great suggestions about the rubs and different steaks to utilize them on. You can't choose wrong, both the bleu cheese and the truffle rub are delicious. Alberto got us back on track, and a few old fashioneds later, dinner was amazing. The atmosphere was lively with several celebrations and dinner parties. We got an awesome booth facing out to the dining room and Colorado Boulevard. It was the best table in the house. My compliments to the host for coming through with my request. For the meal, we startes with an okay wedge salad. The saving grace of this meal and dinner, besides Alberto, was the porterhouse for 2 cooked to perfection- tender, beefy and melt in your mouth bliss- and the sides. The always delicious sweet potato casserole cruated with candied pecans, wowzers! Lobstah mac n cheese that actually has lobstah in it (sorry Fleming's... step your game up)! One of my favorite upscale chain-steakhouses! Ruth Chris isn't "top-tier" steakhouse compared to some trendier spots in LA , but still better then anything you'd find at a lesser tier steakhouse. Here they serve USDA Prime beef. They DON'T serve Wagyu beef nor do they DRY age their beef. It is wet-aged and cut in-house. What is wet aged?!I had to ask our wonderful server Cora. It's was explained to me that "wet-aged" beef involves refrigerating meat in a tightly-sealed bag until it's time to cook; the results are tender and juicy meat, and the steaks are never frozen. Depending on the cut, Ruth's Chris ages its steaks from 14 to 28 days. I love that the steaks come out on piping hot plates at 500 degrees! Seafood and poultry can be found for non red-meat eaters. Side dishes are huge. It's family size and meant for sharing. The menu here is pretty simple. Walk-ins are accepted, if space is available. However, they strongly recommend reservations. Reservations are not required for the bar. Dress code: Not strict. Parking: Valet or street. read more

We came here to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We had a complimentary appetizer, and shared a great tasting Tomahawk Ribeye steak, we also shared the Chilean Seabass, it was all SUPERB!!! Our waiter was excellent, made sure it all was to our satisfaction. And I must say we were very impressed with Dylan Lewis, the Manager. Wow. How disappointing. I hadn't been to RC for decades. I promised a loved one a great dinner. The service was stellar. Absolutely perfect. But I was so surprised by the food. The crab cakes were (over seasoned) squishy lumps. Couldn't taste the crab. Flavor and texture were both sub-par. The scallops were perfectly cooked, then ruined afterward. The saucing was harsh, and didn't honor the delicacy of the scallops. This kitchen has gorgeous ingredients. They are cooked to perfection, except for the lobster tail, which seemed harvested from a Maine Rubber lobster. But all of the dishes were quite destroyed by the over-aggressive saucing. The lobster was spared...maybe because it was overdone and someone felt remorse. I assume they're cooking for people who drink, and therefore have diminished taste faculties. But they start with such terrific ingredients, which have lovely flavors of their own before they're wrecked with over strong reductions. Too much salt, too much garlic. The garden salad was inedible. Too much garlic on the salad, on the scallops, on the creamed spinach. The potatoes were buried in way too much cheddar which was overpowering. Sorry if this is brutal, or if you have enough cocktails that your tasting is impaired. But such high-quality ingredients deserve respect.
