Filet Mignon with Shrimp and Lobster Tail

Finally went to try Ruth's Chris on The Row. Now we cant figure out why we hadn't tried it sooner as it was fabulous. Beautiful decor and our waiter Sebastian was fabulous. Very attentive and checked in on us to keep our drinks filled and any other needs. We ordered from the "3 Courses for $60". For first course I had the French onion soup and it was amazing. Not overly rich with great onion flavor and a nice cheesy topping. My date had the Caesar salad and said it was very good. For entree we both had the filet mignon with shrimp. The filet was cooked exactly to my liking of medium rare. Velvety and buttery texture perfection. For sides we had the creamed spinach and roasted Brussel Sprouts. Both were well prepared. The creamed spinach was so good I used a little bit on my filet and it was delicious. The entire dining experience was excellent and Sebastian even gave me an extra serving of the bread to take home as he saw I liked it so much. We are looking forward to a return visit. I highly recommend as we found the prices to be quite reasonable for a high end steak house.

Ruth's Chris is a first class steakhouse. If you can afford it it's worth it. Just remember it comes with nothing but the steak so you need to order sides. Plan on spending a $100. per person.

Imagine this Yelpies The one place where you can enjoy first class food and service all in one. Yes this does exist. But in order for you to understand what I mean you will have to step on in here. Don't worry if the tables are full because there might be a seat at the bar with your name on it. Pull up a chair and enjoy

Pretty good. We walked in at a busy time and sat at the bar. Will definitely return. Had the 3 course $60 meal with several upgrades and it was great! I saw the steak that most people get with the deal and was very happy I upgraded to the 8 oz filet and added a little lobster tail and some shrimp for my wife . Salad was great too. When they brought the check we had to remind the servers we should get a dessert with the deal. The only thing I really didn't like was that I asked for a glass of wine (Faust cabernet) and the bartender upgraded that to a $40 large glass of wine without telling me (the online menu doesn't list large/small sizes but only one price for a glass). If I wanted a $40+ glass of wine I would have ordered Caymus!

We ate at Ruth Chris prior to going to a show at the silver legacy. The restaurant itself was very nice. It has a main dining room as well as a bar and lounge area. The service was very good and attentive. Our servers made sure our waters and drinks were topped off. Our positive experience ended there. My wife got the $60 3 course meal where she started with a Caesar salad. The salad was underdressed and lacked any flavor. For her entree she went with the filet and shrimp with the loaded mashed potatoes. The filet was cooked nicely to her request medium rare. The mashed potatoes were not edible. The amount of butter, cheese and sour cream was extremely excessive. The cheesecake dessert was good. I went with the 16 oz NY strip. It had good flavor but I requested medium rare and what I received was more like medium well. The baked potato was good but not $14 good. That seems to be the theme with this restaurant. It was an okay dinner but for a $240 bill there are so many better options. I would suggest passing on Ruth's for different dining options when in Reno.

I love Ruth Chris's special they have. 3 for 60.00. We were going to a concert and we decided on Ruth Chris. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Our server Jack was fantastic. We will ask for him again. I would put it in the epic category for steaks. Inside silver legacy easy to get to. Just have Valet park your car. A friend ordered just sides and was totally satisfied with it piece of meat. I love that you can do just sides. We were able to have our own checks which makes it easier to figure the bill when there were a few of us. So that was nice!!! Overall I love Ruth Chris. I actually think of it quite often. Might have to go for an early anniversary dinner there before their 3 for 60.00 ends!

Made reservations for my birthday at my favorite steak place in Reno. Although I've already gave a review to Ruth Chris already, I wanted to compliment how great this birthday dinner was. For those thinking to celebrate an event here at Ruth Chris, when you make a reservation on OpenTable, letting them know what occasion it is, the management here at this Ruth Chris had our dinner in a booth with a birthday card on the table with the staff acknowledging the special occasion. So we ordered our favorites which consist of Spicy Calamari as an appetizer. It's a sweet chili sauce that's mixed with the breaded calamari. Very tasty. 5 stars My wife ordered a lettuce wedge and the soup of the day which was French onion dip. We shared a 16 oz ribeye (Medium) and when it came, they split the steak into two plates which was 500 degree, one for my wife and one for me. Ribeye was our favorite. Arrived hot, right amount of salt. Ruth Chris prepares the steak the best and we've never had a bad experience here. 5 stars The sides were garlic mash and grilled asparagus. Can't go wrong with these! 5 stars But wanted to compliment the whole staff here at Ruth Chris Reno! Our waitress was Ashley- very sweet and bubbly and we were very pleased to have her serve us. Another shout out I have to give is Aaron. He wasn't our waiter but walked around and cleared our table whenever we were done with the sides. First time he came over was seeing my wife taking selfies and offered to take a photo of us. The pic turned out great by the way. Aaron also came by later to put our calamari in a box and bag for us to take home. One of the thing we noticed was as we left, waitresses and servers who was working and that we were passing by to leave, made a point to say goodbye to us. You don't see that often and as we left the entrance, the host also wished us a goodbye. Both my wife and I agree, that management here at a Ruth Chris trained the staff well and the little details of acknowledgment while leaving was impressive. Staff and service - 5 stars For sure when we have plans to celebrate a holiday or an event, we would choose Ruth Chris in Reno.

Went here when visiting UNR. Somewhat pricey and we had to wait a bit for our server to return at times. Decent sides and steaks though. Desserts were good.

Pro's: Everything...excellent food, ambiance and service. Con's: I can't eat here every day. Go back?: Regularly More... I have reviewed Ruth's before and will always likely give it 5 stars. Specifically for this review, I wanted to call out their "Port of Manhattan" cocktail. It was Manhattan but with Fonseca aged port, instead of sweet vermouth. It was something a little different and a delicious surprise. Our servers were excellent and it was nice of Michael, the manager, to stop by and say hello. Excellent evening, as usual, at my favorite Ruth's Chris.

Came here for a work outing right when they opened and had a really good experience! It was a little hard to find at first if you're not familiar with the casino layout, but once we got there the service was great and super attentive. I got the lamb chops and they were really good. A few others in our group ordered the meal deal option and seemed happy with their meals too. Great spot for a group dinner, I'd definitely come back!

We had a wonderful experience here on Mother's Day! We made a reservation a few weeks in advance online and had many options to choose from. Upon arriving we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. The waitress and staff were outstanding. Our waitress, Shaw, is a gem and she had a very vibrant personality and was very good at anticipating the table's needs. The entrees took longer than usual to come. The manager, Michael, was very apologetic and comped our appetizer due to the wait - he came over to our table on his own without us requesting him or complaining. They were very aware of the situation/wait times at each table. We started with the crab cakes - one order comes with two. They were tasty. All four of us ordered filets and we split the following sides: au gratin potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, and asparagus. It was enough for 4 people. My filet came undercooked and our waitress took it back without hesitation. They were prompt and my meal ended up being delicious. They comped our dessert for the inconvenience which was very kind. By the time we got to dessert, we couldn't pick just one so we ordered the chocolate sin cake x2, bread pudding, and famous creme brûlée. The bread pudding was by far my favorite - I can't explain it other than it's perfectly flavored with a great texture (not mushy/soggy). All desserts were great! We loved our experience here and will be back. I would love to have Shaw as our waitress again!

We went to celebrate my partner's 60th Birthday. We had a 7:15 reservation on a Saturday night. It took a few minutes for them to setup the table. We were a bit slow to realize they added Happy Birthday confetti on the white table cloth. A thoughtful touch. They brought good bread and butter and they refilled it! The birthday boy ordered the Ruth's classic, starting with a steak house salad and it had a nice serving of blue cheese as the dressing. The six ounce fillet was on a 500 degree plate. It was a good piece of meat with little marbling. The 3 shrimp were just okay. He ordered the side of garlic mash which was a personal serving. It tasted ok. The chef's dessert selection was a personal slice of cheesecake with a sour cream topping (?) and came with berries. It was a nice presentation. My son and I shared the porterhouse for two. It was thick and pre-cut before it made it to our table. The platter and plates were 500 degrees with melted butter and salt & pepper. They served us with one piece of meat from each side of the bone. We ordered it medium rare because we knew it would continue to cook. It was a bit fatty, only one piece was super fatty but delicious. We've shared a porterhouse at another steak house and the size of this one was so much better. The birthday boy enjoyed the porterhouse too. We ordered a side of creamed spinach. It needed more salt but the saltiness of the meat helped. We were surprised they served Lavazza coffee, one of our favorite Italian coffees. We also ordered a slice of the chocolate sin cake. It was a pretty normal flourless chocolate cake slice. Once in a while you have a bite of one that wows you. This had the pretty touches, flared strawberry with a big squiggle of strawberry sauce and it was good enough. House of Prime Rib is like our gold standard. They have a small menu but they do almost everything well. Occasionally, the salad can be off, the spinach too salty, the potato not soft enough and the chocolate cake can be dry. Ruth's Chris has a bigger menu, more cuts of meat, more sides, more appetizers and more space between tables. Service was good. The Manager came by and said hello. I like servers but I never remember anyone's name. A good server always makes the meal nice but they won't make my meal the best. I also don't like complaining about service unless it's absolutely terrible. A change is always nice! We hope to be back!

    Cesear Salad (1/2 order)

We have always enjoyed Ruth's Chris Steak House, having been to several but never at the Reno location. Located inside the Silver Legacy, the restaurant is conveniently located and quite nice inside. The decor is upscale and relatively quiet. On this day we were there celebrating a birthday. Although we had a larger party, Collin, our server was "on the job". He was friendly, welcoming and one of the best waiters we have experiences. Well done young man. Ruth's Chris offers, what they call "Ruth's Classics". This is a Price Fix option, with a number of selections and upgrades. This was very popular with our party with 4 couples choosing the Ruth Classic. For our selection, we "upgraded" the steak and lobster for a 16oz Ribeye and Lobster. We split the plate, so the pic is essentially a 1/2 order. Starting with a Cesear Salad, the salad was fresh and delicious, served with fresh parmesian and croutons. The steak was served on their signature 500 degree plate. Our steak, ordered Medium Rare, was cooked to perfection. The steak was rich with flavor, juicy and tender. In fairness, I was disappointed in the lobster. It looked more like a sad limpy prawn than a majestic Lobster. It was just terrible. For sides we ordered the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Both well executed, exactly as I was expecting, delicious. For dessert, they brough out the cheesecake with fresh fruit. The cheesecake as "meh", more decorative than delicious. All in all, we were delighted with the restaurant. Could not have asked for better service and the steak was perfect.

Charge an item to celebrate a special event though we did not order.

Ask the Community - Ruth's Chris Steak House

Is the bar doing happy hour from 4:30-6:30pm again?

Is this restaurant too fancy for a baby?

It's fancy and upscale, but not too much for a baby. I used to take my babies, but I was always aware of their behavior and without being asked, willing to leave if need be. The food and service is fantastic--not much better place to learn to how to…

Due to covid, are they accepting outside wine or champagne and charging corkage fee?

Yes. The corkage fee is a reasonable $15.

Do you need to dress up, like wear dress slacks, long sleave shirt, sports coat and leather shoes? Or would jeans and a t-shirt be acceptable?

I didn't see a dress code. As long as your not naked should be fine.

The long tables lined with bottles feel almost like a curated gallery, and the garage-style doors let in natural light that makes the whole place feel alive without being loud or overwhelming. What really stands out is how intentional everything feels, especially the wine list. It is handwritten on a large chalkboard, which gives it a relaxed, neighborhood vibe, but the selection is thoughtful and globally inspired. You will find a mix of Old World staples and boutique producers alongside well-chosen California options. The list includes everything from crisp Picpoul and Bordeaux Blanc blends to approachable Pinot Noir, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with more unique offerings like Loire Valley blends and Spanish varietals that show they are not just playing it safe. The pricing is another highlight. Most glasses land in the $9 to $15 range, which feels more than fair for the quality. They even offer a carafe option, about two and a half glasses, which is perfect for sharing and encourages you to settle in and enjoy the experience rather than rush through it. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a wine bar. It is relaxed, conversational, and effortlessly refined. It is the kind of place where you can catch up with friends, go on a date, or simply unwind and end up staying longer than you planned. What truly made our visit exceptional was our server, Kate. She went above and beyond in every way. She was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the wines, and genuinely warm in her approach. She made thoughtful recommendations, checked in at the right moments, and created an experience that felt personal rather than transactional. It is clear she cares about what she does, and it made a great environment feel even better. Black Rock Wine Co is not trying too hard, and that is exactly why it works. It is curated, welcoming, and just the right level of elevated. We will absolutely be back.
