It's been about 20 years since I've been to an Outback Steakhouse. Saw this one was somehow still open so thought I'd stop by for a throwback dinner. Plus, since it's still open, they must be doing something right. As soon as I entered, I was very surprised how many people were there dining. The restaurant wasn't packed but it was busier than I thought it would be. Ordered the famous Bloomin' Onion. It was good and the dipping sauce was made it better. It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be-I say that about a lot of things now. We were only able to eat half because it was very greasy. Greasy outweighed the yummy. Ordered one of their cocktails-The Wallaby Darned but only drank half because it was too sweet for my liking. The chimichurri filet and that was good, I thought. The steak was a good cut of meat and cooked well. By far though and above everything else, the service was the best!! I haven't had good service in a restaurant in so long. My water glass was always full, the food came out immediately and didn't sit. And our server brought another complimentary bread loaf. Service was the ONLY redeeming quality! Steak was dry and overcooked. Pasta was cooked adequately but the alfredo sauce was bland and clumpy. I had to ask for bread, as it is not automatically included, and we were given one small cup of butter... I guess the dmaller loaf nowadays does not require 2 butters. We ordered the blooming onion, shrimp on the Barbie and wedge salad while enjoying the complimentary bread and butter. Elias was great. Checking in on us regularly. The food is always great. Out on a dinner date with my husband - Decided to go to Outback. It has been a while since we had been here. The restaurant was busy but there was no waiting to be seated. It was a quiet evening. We ordered drinks...blueberry desert pear burst, and smoked old fashion And for food we decided to share a dinner since we don't eat as much as we used to and we wanted to try one of their desserts... So we got the ribeye and grilled shrimp combo With a salad and loaded baked potato The ribeye & shrimp were cooked perfect and the baked potato was delicious as well. The salad was nice...need more tomatoes. I prefer hard boiled egg & shredded carrots-no cheese instead, but it was good. It's been a couple years since I've been here. So many options in Reno. It's hard to revisit some places. But my wife and I had a wonderful evening. Bree was our waitress . She was extremely nice and entertaining. Sometimes you go out on a date night with your wife and you want some privacy, sometimes you want some entertainment. Bree seem to realize that we wanted some entertainment lol. What we ordered: Smoked whiskey, old-fashioned Castaway cocktail Ribeye steak with a baked potato Salad Chocolate thunder under down under The food was out pretty quick and I gotta tell you for the price. It is one of the best steaks around. There was a time when outback was the most expensive place to eat, but post Covid. We went in early afternoon instead of prime mealtime! A group of senior ladies that takes time to order and talks a lot! Our waiter was very friendly, and patient--making good suggestions about the menu. Food arrived in good time and HOT!! Always appreciated! He checked back on us without interruption. Went to this location for lunch. We sat in a booth in the bar area and the server was great. Always checking back on us for refills. We both got the 5 oz steak lunch meal. We had the baked potato soup, wedge salad with ranch dressing, grilled salmon with rice and mashed potatoes and also the mac & cheese. So I decided for 2026 that I wanted to revisit some of the locations I hadn't been to in a long time. Today we decided to revisit the Outback steakhouse in Reno, located off of South Virginia between Moana and Peckham. There is ample parking both in front of the restaurant and a large parking lot behind it. Upon arrival we were greeted by the hostess, who quickly directed us to our seat, the service is very good as our waiter was attentive to our needs. We ordered the Ahi sashimi appetizer, unfortunately not pictured. She ordered the teriyaki steak skewer, medium rare and mashed potatoes along with the potato soup. I ordered the Delmonico ribeye with baked potato and French onion soup. Everything was has expected, the food was good, cooked as ordered. We both commented that it really hadn't changed since the last time we were there which was many years ago, it was nice to see the consistency. The ambience is Outback, that is the same regardless where you go. At the end of the day if you're looking for a reasonably priced and good quality product this is a place to try. read more

Service with a smile is an understatement here. We loved our time from the moment the host greeted us right up until we walked out the door, and it's all credit to the exceptional staff! We came in last Friday around 630, 3 adults and two kids (3.5 and 6.5), and the little ones were famished after a long day at school. Sensing this, the host offered some crayons and kids menus and engaged the kids in a coloring contest and they took to it! Shifted the wait from what would've been intolerable, into enjoyable! Our server was also incredible from the start. She was smiling, seemed genuinely happy to be serving and providing guests with a great experience, and she was authentic in her approach and engaged with everyone at the table. I went for the coconut shrimp and sirloin. The 9oz was a bit much after the wedge salad and famous brown bread, but they cooked it very nicely and the marinade is sweet and tasty. Loaded baker was a good choice for the side and I liked the salted skin. Kids had cheeseburger and mac n cheese, both slightly above average in quality, and both enjoyed by the boys. Overall a better experience than I expected. Food ok but service really sets this place apart. read more

They were not extremely busy on a Wednesday night. We usually go to one of the other steakhouses in town, but a friend of mine and I decided to come to outback. My steak was on the dry side, even though it was pink, and I wanted to add a add-on, which did not apply apparently to the Wednesday no worries steak deal, which you got one side to it. Our waiter said I could do an add on for 2.99. When I got the bill he gave me the 2.99, but instead of 13.99 it jumped to 17.99 + the 2.99. I could have gotten the 21.49 steak with 2 sides and dessert. So I feel I was a little scammed on that one. I was just not overly impressed with our dinner at all I probably will not go back to Outback . My friend's burger, which was on the 14.99. Special., was actually raw when she said medium well and had to send it back. So it was not an overall great experience except my company with my friend that I hadn't seen in a while. Will definitely go to our regular steakhouse food their special steak dinner with more choice on their special. I will not be going back to Outback. read more

Overall, it was a pleasant dinner. We made reservations and were greeted and seated promptly. I asked not to sit in the first booth, which was offered to us. The torn cushion could snag pants. Our waitress was very attentive and helped with choices. We both had steaks. One ribeye cooked to perfection and one prime rib. I needed to send the prime rib back as it was overdone. The manager apologized and said it should have never been served. The next one was wonderful. The salad sidedish was amazing. The restaurant was a little loud with TV's in most diections. Wow! What happened to this restaurant! We got there and nobody came up to seat us for a long time. Finally a waitress came up and apologized said she didn't know where the hostess was. Then seated us said Terry was our waitress. We waited it felt like 15 minutes but i believe it was around 10 minutes. We went here for dinner on my Dad's last night here before heading back to Texas. We had a great time and the food was delicious! Our waitress, Tina B, was great and very attentive. There was 5 of us in our party and everything we ordered came out perfectly. Not one complaint. The NEW Bloomin Shrimp were so good. I will definitely be ordering them again. This is one of our go to restaurants. The Teriyaki Filet Skewers, a new menu item, is fabulous and I highly recommend giving it a try. Not a huge fan of teriyaki but these are very tasty with the filet being perfectly cooked. Service is always excellent at this location with friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Until recently the atmosphere has always been warm and intimate, but the lighting changed and is now much brighter, more irritating less cozy and comfortable. We've been here a few times since it changed hoping it was temporary but it looks like it's here to stay. Maybe we'll try the Outback in Sparks to see if it has kept the same cozy ambiance. read more

I use to frequent the Outback when I lived in the Bay Area but then for some reason kind of stayed away. I was never really that into their steaks. As a kid I just remember going there for the full loaded fries. That was about it for me. We were greeted by the sweet hostess and walked to our table. It was a quiet evening. Not too many people in the restaurant. It was quite nice. Immediately as we were seated this gentleman (Jesse C) came over with ice water and offered us something to drink. He had menu advice and drink choices. Of course I had an ice cold beer while looking over the menu. You guessed it, I ordered them fries topped with melted cheese and bacon... I kindly asked Mr.C to see if they had green onion to top all that and they did!!! This was a perfect start to my meal. It really was, I would have been content to walk away now but I went in for steak. I ordered their rib eye steak rare plus expecting not the best outcome because other than Bimini Steakhouse all the other restaurants never cook my steak right. I also got green beans and a dressed baked potato to go with that. Well, my steak arrived perfectly cooked and the green beans did too! Mr. C made sure he gave the kitchen the right information. Green beans were not floppy overcooked at all. Imma have to say I liked the green beans here better than at Bimini's; Yep, I said it. Drinks were constantly filled and Mr. Jesse kept checking on us to see if there was anything we needed. Had dinner at outback this evening which usually is beyond reproach, was built for several items that we did not have called to ask how I would resolve that situation Brian Rafael, who said he's part owner told me there is nothing he can do about it because we already closed out that credit card With an overcharge of about $25. If that is the way you do business in Reno Nevada it's probably not gonna fly here. I don't appreciate that up charging and tacking on charges that were not incurred. Double charging on drinks double charging on. I don't know games not certain what that was. We weren't watching the games. We were celebrating my baby's birth. Thank you for your time. Not only is the food amazing, (highly recommend the Kingsland pasta with fettuccine alfredo steak and shrimp), but the staff is always friendly and personable. Worst location on S. Virginia in Reno (!) but that is my only negative comment. For those of us who are fans of Reno restaurants, this is well worth the effort. Just look for the driveway next to Lucky Beaver ( good location but horrible name for a restaurant!). Lots of parking back there, great food, drinks, and excellent service. Thank you Brandon P! GO TO TEXAS ROAD HOUSE! Despite Outback Steakhouse being mostly empty, service was slow. I ordered a steak medium and it came out raw. After sending it back, it was brought back, re cooked but still undercooked and purple. The charge was removed, but steak should be cooked correctly and safely the first time as well as even the second time! The cuts themselves are also poor quality for the price. I've had much better, more consistent experiences at Texas Roadhouse and will be taking my business there from now on. read more

Our food was the typical, nothing was wrong at all. My food was amazing. So the most important reason I wanted to leave this review is because my step dad lost his wallet. He didn't realize until thanksgiving and it was closed :( We called the next day and they had it! The only kinda sad thing was my step dad left quite a big cash gift for the person who found the wallet and the manager said "if we can't find him we will have a pizza party for the staff" Of course it would be easy to find him, I gave the date and time but ok!
