This is a beautiful restaurant inside and then you can sit on the patio for lovely sunset views. Every time I go there the service is always above and beyond, even if they are busy they make sure to take care of you. Last time we ended up sitting outside and even though we were out of the sight line of the restaurant windows they still took care of us and brought all our wine and snacks out promptly. If you love a charcuterie board they make a wonderful one here. But what brought me so much joy on my last visit was their focaccia! I normally don't order this because it is hard to do well but they made a moist and fluffy focaccia that had a lovely punch of saltiness. First of all, this a hidden gem in Reno. A friend of mine wanted to capture the experience of drinking a wine and the ambiance is not being too loud. Viola! We found this spot that secluded, that has great view of Reno mountains. We greeted by Andrè maybe I shall say a wine expert. He has this relaxing dark voice that you just want to listen to his wine explanation. We both got a tasting meny wine: My friend got a usual suspects and mine is Whites around the world for $30 each. It consists for wines that they all picked. I dont have much knowledge about wines, but mine exceeded my expectation and they a beautiful curated. André explained each one and where it came from. It was also labeled which is also really nice just in case you forget about it. It was a hot that day, we decided to inside with their aircondition blasting us. Everyone seems to love the outdoor seating, it was packed. which is really nice. The place is cleaning, inviting and smells good too. The restroom is well maintained. For our food, unfortunately that they are out of proscuitto. We ordered a caprese burrata, sausage crostini and a side of nuts. The nuts was flavored it has sweet and spicy herb taste. The food compliments the wine! A good pair for the wines we had. Andrè checked on us, my friend did really liked the Rosé they offered to us. He gave us a sample of recommended on his list. It was perfect! Overall, my friend and I had a great. We enjoyed the wine, food and good conversation. I was craving a moscato (unusual) and wanted to wear a dress, so decided to look up wine bars. I haven't been here and with such great reviews I wanted to try it. I was alone and greeted by, who later introduced himself, Andre. He was busy pouring flights and let me know he'd be right with me. I perused the menu and found what I was looking for although it had a much fancier name. Andre immediately gave me water and got to pouring my muscat. I wanted to sit outside, looks like they have a nice patio, but it was packed out there so I chose a little corner area that had an edible Reno Tahoe magazine that I enjoyed reading while drinking. It was fine but not my favorite and reallllly sweet which yea it WAS listed under dessert wines lol. I am not a wine connoisseur so I may have ordered incorrectly. But that's okay I'm trying new things! It was a peaceful environment but maybe due to inside not being too busy. Andre had great customer service and I observed him talking generously to everyone. When he came by my table he informed me they had live music Sundays Mondays and Tuesdays. That sounds like a lot of fun and would love to come then to try some flights with friends. read more

The wine selection is excellent, with something for every palate, and the owner really knows her stuff. If you're a wine lover, it's easy to appreciate the thoughtful curation and depth behind the list. They also host some fantastic events--but here's the problem: you'd probably never know unless you randomly stumbled in. Communication is seriously lacking, not just to the public but sometimes even to their own staff. It's frustrating to miss out on great experiences simply because no one was told about them. The service is where things really fall short. While the staff is friendly, the wait times can be painfully slow--even when it's not that busy. It takes away from the otherwise relaxed atmosphere and can get pretty frustrating if you're on any sort of schedule. As for the wine club... it honestly feels like an afterthought. There's a lot of potential there, but right now it doesn't offer much value or engagement for members. Zephyr could be a top-tier wine bar if they tightened up the operations and communication. Wow! This place is awesome! Doesn't give off uppity vibes. The owner is very approachable and welcoming. His friendly demeanor and professionalism were welcoming-- especially given that we came in an hour before closing on a Sunday. The environment is relaxed and comfortable without being overly posh, but still high end enough to add to the romance if you're out on a date. I personally thought the wine prices were incredibly generous. We didn't order food but the prices were on par with what I'd expect for a wine bar. I heard they have live music on some nights. Mostly easy listening but occasionally people dance?! Sounds pretty fun. I have to end with reiterating how impressed my husband and I were with the owner. He is a Reno native and was engaging but not overly so. It was clear he is not burnt out, but rather seems to really enjoy his job. He also wasn't overly involved/annoying (I'm sure you've all experienced business owners like that). He was awesome. Type of guy you wish success on. I believe he said his name was Andre. I appreciated that he was so generous with my lack of wine knowledge-- refreshing as many in the wine industry can be a bit condescending. Zephyr is such a hidden gem, with an extensive selection of high quality red, white bubbly and rose wines from local wineries in California and Nevada. Their menu also features an all day tapas menu with charcuterie boards and tasteful small bites, as well as small dinner items after 4 PM. With a beautiful view overlooking the hills, a classy yet comforting ambiance, and even live music by local artists on Sundays from 3-5 PM, this spot definitely evokes fond, nostalgic memories of Napa wine country. The decor is just gorgeous, clean and sleek. I was here midweek and it wasn't crowded, just a handful of patrons but I hear it really cranks up on the weekends. Sunday there is live music in the afternoon and I'll bet that's fun. Our server who likes to be know as "the retired guy" was too good to be true. Very attentive and knowledgeable and just as nice as could be. The wine list has some very interesting selections. I started with bubbles and decided at some point to mice to a nice Merry Edward's Pinot. Bummer, they were out. Jim guided me to a nice Anderson Valley pick and I was not disappointed. The views from this place are wonderful and the outdoor seating will be full I'm sure pending better weather. They offer wine dinners and other educational classes that pertain to wine of course and sounded very intriguing and I intend to look into that at some point. There is plenty of natural light coming in (depending on time of day, of course) and you don't feel squished in with other patrons. Our first time here and Jenn was awesome! Recommended some great pairings and bottles. we ended up ordering the brie pistachio crostini's (seen in my photo) and they were delicious, highly recommend. we also tried the hummus (also seen in my photo) and that too was delicious as well. The staff is very accommodating and welcoming. we cant wait to be back to try more of their menu and wine library as well. She also mentioned they will be doing some pairing classes as well which we look forward to. Ambiance and décor is very well done and very spacious as well. Love the "wine library" as you walk through the front door-leaves you no doubt as to exactly what type of goods are sold here and sets the mood. The interior has groups of comfortable seating choice and a nice bar but the patio looked so inviting with a wonderful view of the pending sunset so that was our choice. Plenty of heaters and an outdoor fireplace made the cooling autumn temps very comfortable. Our server was outstanding and helped us through the menu. We love the Ancient Peaks Winery in Paso Robles so selected the rose which went perfectly with our cheese board. The small cheese board was a perfect size for 2 people and was delicious. What a wonderful first experience at Zephyr Wine. I joined some friends for the Ukulele live music afternoon, which was wonderful. The wine/bubbles list was fantastic and they had a great tapas menu too. They have some flight options. They also offer non-alcoholic beverages, which I thought was really cool. I started with the Lunar Estates Pinot Noir and loved it. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. They have a fabulous sommelier on site. This place is truly going to continue to become more popular. Arrive early on live music days to get a seat. It's very open with options of tables, couches, etc. They have a cute patio with some nice seating and the view is gorgeous.
