I love Ruth Christ ! And this was my first time at this location. It's conveniently located near one of the mall's parking decks and mall entrance. They had plenty of reservation time online and it was also as easy to modify the reservation. We got the stuffed chicken ( delicious ) my favorite side the sweet potato pecan casserole and mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The birthday dessert was good but not my favorite. All in all a great chain restaurant to celebrate special occasions.

Pretty decent place , went here for a conference . I thought the appetizers were very good, we had the goat cheese and eggplant as well as mashed potatoes . For entree I had a rib eye which was mediocre but the desert ( chocolate sin cake ) was amazing . The service was a bit slow and I had to keep reminding the guy to bring me cappuccino and some hot tea but overall they were nice

I am severely disappointed by the service and atmosphere in this location. I had high expectations - attached to Short Hills Mall, kniwn for luxury. We came in for an early sunday dinner around 3:30 pm. Even though it was Father's Day, it wasn't busy yet. We sat at the bar. I went into the bathroom before sitting down. A worker was leaving as I entered. It was in complete disarray. Water and paper towels everywhere. One (out of 3) of the stalls was a disgusting mess. Once we were seated for about 5 minutes, a man asked my husband if he wanted a drink. Took his order and left without asking for mine. When a different man came back with my husband's drink, I was asked "want a drink?". No "hi, how are ya" - no personality or friendliness at all. I asked if they had mocktails. He said he could make me a Shirley temple - that was it. I got a plain seltzer. The same man returned and asked "want to order food?". The menu is nothing to write home about. There are very few options and none sound especially appetizing at their price point. $29 for 2 small crab cakes and a tablespoon of diced peppers thrown between them. $70 for a steak thrown on an appetizer sized plate, but my husband said it was cooked well. The mashed potatoes were pretty good. We had to ask for another round of drinks even though it was not busy and there were multiple people behind the bar. I will never step foot into another Ruth's Chris again. I've received better service at a Chilli's. At this price point, there are certain expectations that have to be met. This location failed every step of the way.

    BRUSSELS SPROUTS

I ordered my usual. Food was amazing but i can tell the Brussels sprouts were rushed. However, I do love the sweet potato casserole ! Also service can be better. When i called to place an order i was told orders cannot be taken over the phone and in person only. What's the point of that? Also when i picked up my order the girl with the ombré/blonde hair was rude. She was on instagram the whole time and appeared to have an attitude. Over $100 for takeout... it would be nice to get better service

Once upon a time, I'm sure Ruth's Chris was the place to go but I think it's time it updated a bit. I came here for a birthday dinner for my mother in law because she loves steak. We got a bit of everything, including the steak. Overall, I think the menu is a bit outdated as is the decor. The food was ok. As with all chains, we all know what to expect in terms of food quality. The steak was ok. The soup was good, the crab cakes were a bit disappointing. I will say the service was decent. The waitstaff was friendly and did a nice job. But overall, it's way too expensive for not so great good.

I'm familiar with the RC brand and today I had the pleasure of dining in the Short Hills location. Our server was Emilio and he was amazing. We were his first table on his first day in that capacity. We learned that he worked behind the scenes before. His glowing personality and smile made all the difference. He was very attentive to our needs and made sure everything was to our liking. As usual, the food was good. The portions have gotten smaller in the Chef's Special although the price has gone up :/ If you get the chance, ask for Emilio and you will enjoy your visit as well.

Relatively new Ruth Chris location at short hills mall is a great addition to the chain. NOT ACCESSIBLE FROM THE MALL...IT'S EXTERIOR ENTRANCE ONLY! We usually stop by for happy hour sizzle and swizzle! Great drink specials and delicious food at an affordable price. Full sized appetizer portions...the ahi tuna, and spicy shrimp are my favorites. Also, can grab a cheeseburger or steak sandwich with fries. For those craving steak, they serve a petite filet with either shrimp and cabernet or blue cheese and rose! Service is attentive. Beautiful interior, although a little dark in the bar area! We love it here!

Bougie steakhouses usually do the trick, so we called around to a few nearby ones on our way back and Roots was thankfully open. Off we went down the PA Turnpike and ultimately into Summit. I have a passing familiarity with Roots; I knew a co-worker years ago who was really into it (not sure if it was this location or the Morristown one) but this was a first visit for both of us. Summit is not always the best to drive around in on a weekend but thankfully most people seemed to be down the shore and we were able to easily secure parking on the street less than a block away. Liked the vibes immediately. My favorite kind of steakhouse is an old school one, where you can feel the history and envision someone like Boss Tweed having a stogie in the back or something. Roots isn't old school but it definitely feels like it with the dark wood paneling (very impressed by the bar area in that regard as well). There were a few other patrons in there but we probably didn't need to make the reservation on the way over - we were seated in a cozy booth right off the bar and made ourselves at home. It WAS a little annoying to trek down a staircase to a shared restroom with the rest of the building; not sure they can do anything about that at this point though. The service was exquisite; top notch all the way around. Our waitress was very friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu. One moment we both liked a lot? My chum was mulling over an expensive bottle of wine and the waitress recommended a cheaper one, based on the items we were ordering. Didn't have to do that, and those little gestures go a long way for me. She also had specific recommendations based on her palate and other customer experiences, and cited the special that day, which was a hybrid filet mignon ribeye situation, and the cowboy steak off the regular menu. We ordered each (I went with the latter) so the salesmanship worked here in droves. I was hardcore eyeing the Petite Main Lobster Bites to split but my chum wanted the Shrimp Cocktail so I ended up eating this by myself for the most part. This was AWESOME. It came in the same type of dish that escargot come in (I'm sure there's a very sophisticated culinary name for it) so it was kind of easy and hard to scoop out, if that makes sense. But heavenly - my favorite part by far. So flavorful and delicious. The sides were hit and miss. We got the potatoes au gratin on the recommend of the waitress, who said Roots was known for it. That was really good too, and held up well the next day for leftovers. The Brussels sprouts were not great - they were significantly undercooked and almost hard/raw in the middle despite decent flavoring that seemed almost Asian from the tanginess. For what we were paying, you shouldn't have this big of an issue with one of the menu items. The steak was decent. The Cowboy was a little overcooked (I requested medium rare) but a very solid portion - I think one of the bigger ones on the menu - and the seasoning on it was pretty tasty. Not a mind-blowing cut but wasn't bad. This wasn't bad by any stretch, but when you have the aggressive price points of a high-end steakhouse, you should be graded on a tougher curve. To me, the quality (service excluding) didn't ultimately reach the level the cost demanded. Would have zero issue coming back for that lobster app, but I'd be reluctant to go for a full throttle meal again.

They are also known for their burger, which was solid, Steak Sandwich was also good, but the burger was def the better choice! Then we wrapped up worh the dessert: ordered Cheesecake which was beautiful and delicious. The homemade crust was an absolute 10!!! Then they let us sample their apple pie, which is currently not a menu item but they're testing it out. Also good! And finally, the s'mores bananas split! A unique spin on the traditional banana split. The flambéd bananas were crazy good. Great dish. So, everything was on point and extremely tasty!!! We thought they were joking or making it up bc they're young and tend to play make believe but then after my daughter confirmed she wasn't making it up, I looked under with my phone flashlight. Lo and behold, a little mouse chomping away at a trap. Which means they know about the problem.
