I hosted my 70th Birthday party on the rooftop patio last night. What a great event! The weather was so beautiful that we opened the patio up and were able to sit and watch the sunset at the fire pit tables. We had a stationary charcuterie, shrimp cocktail and then enjoyed pass around Hors d'oeuvre's. Wine and beer, a few signature cocktails and cake. It was perfect! Stephanie, the Catering Director was amazing and helpful and definitely talked me out of spending$$$$ on things I didn't need to have. She had my interest at heart (not many would do that.) The rest of the staff was terrific as well. Chris, Nick, Kati and our bartender, Jason were attentive and personable to my guests. I would absolutely recommend having a party here. We went to Ruth Chris last night for happy hour. I ordered the steak sandwich, which was a very big disappointment. I expected the steak to be sliced and carefully set on the brioche bun. When it was brought to the table, the steak was actually cubes of steak, and not sliced. The steak was tasteless. There was a sauce that went over it, but the bun was dry, and the sauce did nothing to help the fact that the steak was tasteless. We often go to Ruth Chris for their steak dinners, and I never expected to be disappointed with a happy hour steak sandwich. Having said that, our waiter was wonderful, an hour drinks were delicious. I was just disappointed at how bad the steak was. I hope they can improve on this or take it off the menu. read more

Three years in a row we have came here for our anniversary and Amy is our server every time ! She is absolutely amazing, attentive and provides a 5 star service. The Rockefeller oasters are to die for and the filet is so tasty and the martinis are delightful!!!! The out side ambiance is so romantic with fire place tables and a view of the river. 5 star experience! Beautiful river view. We were seated very quickly in the formal dining room. Interior is very nicely decorated. Servers were friendly and attentive. Fresh bread and butter are provided right off the bat. I ordered the 3 course meal special. My starter was a tasty seafood gumbo. The salmon entree with a sweet n sour glaze was excellent and cooked perfectly. My wife had a steak that was thick, tender, and practically melted in your mouth. All of the side dishes sounded good, but I chose the creamed spinach (great choice). Dessert was carrot cake with a small side of ice cream. Best meal I've had in at least the past year. In our second visit, the lobster Mac and cheese was undoubtedly one of the best we've ever had, along with the shrimp appetizer. Petite filet steak was cooked to perfection, was just a little under seasoned in the middle due to the thickness of the cut, so no fault there. Also best carrot cake in the world! Outdoor seating on the patio is the perfect setting for a romantic or business dinner, with a great view of the river. Staff goes above and beyond to accommodate everyone. The first time we came in we weren't very satisfied with our meal, so Kevin (the GM) personally reached out to have us back in for redemption. I spent the weekend in Wilmington and was craving a delicious steak the day after Christmas. I noticed a Ruth's Chris across the street from my hotel. My first thought was, "I didn't even know this old, overgrown chain was still around!" I know it has been bought and sold many times over the years and is currently owned by the Darden Restaurant Group, which also owns Olive Garden, LongHorn, and Capital Grill. I managed to get past the awkward entry--one of the worst I've ever experienced--and took a seat at the bar, where I was greeted by a couple of very friendly bartenders. I ordered some cocktails while browsing the menu, which included a filet mignon, baked potato, and a great Cabernet. The service was stellar--great teamwork and genuine hospitality. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection, as was my baked potato; I have to say it exceeded my expectations. I also enjoyed a delicious Bailey's and coffee, along with carrot cake for dessert. Absolutely the best service I've experienced! The staff made our 28th wedding anniversary meal a highlight.

We just went here for a special dinner celebrating our honeymoon! We've never been to Wilmington, so we decided to honeymoon there and wanted to have one fancy dinner as newlyweds. The staff was wonder to us! We got to our table and were surprised with red rose petals on our tablecloth and complimentary champagne to congratulate us. Our waiter was absolutely phenomenal! He explained the menu to us and guided us through the best options and was very kind and attentive to us. He even showed us a few places around the area that we should go explore! He wrote them down for us. I still have his list, along with a few of those rose petals, in a keepsake box to look back on and smile. The food was unbeatable! It wasn't just a dinner, it was an experience, all thanks to our wonderful server and the fabulous staff. Right as we were leaving, the heavens opened up and there was torrential downpour, and the staff guided us out of the restaurant safely and showed us the quickest way back to our destination to keep us as dry as possible. This is our first time at Ruth Chris and we were surprised how great it all was. Places that are so hyped, and chains, can be over rated. However, I can't imagine any are as beautiful as the one here! They have a huge outdoor patio for dining while overlooking the river and the sunset. The bar area is open as well and it is a beautiful bar! The service was impeccable and you never want for anything while there. We were there for a special bourbon and cigar event and they served a six-course meal and it went flawlessly and every course was out of this world. Four of us went ( with reservations) on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was relaxed, but elegant. There was a jazz singer/ pianist , which was a treat. The fillets were cooked per request and the wedge salad, potatoes, lyonnaise and their signature, classic cocktails, and wine, rounded out our meal. Our salads were crisp with just enough dressing; steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were more than ample. My husband had the bread pudding for dessert and it was huge. You could tell the holiday season was well underway as rooms were set up for large parties and there were people everywhere! If you are new to Ruth's Chris, just remember not to dress like a beach bum when you come here. Don't wear your ball cap, ripped jeans, underwear hanging out of your pants, etc.. You don't have to wear a suit (I do) but at least do business casual. Expect the bill to range from $150 to $200 for two adults. That's with ordering the cheapest wine. You can cut this down by skipping the appetizer and cutting back on the sides. Note, the sides are sold separately but feed at least two people. If they offer sparkling water, hell to the no. Tap water is fine with the Tim man. Not paying extra for carbonated water. As far as this location is concerned. Service and food were as expected from Ruth's Chris. We came on Valentines Day and they were jammed packed. We ended up in an overflow section of the hotel. The menu was paper stapled together. I guess they didn't have enough regular menus due to the demand of the day. While we were there, the fire alarm went off for several minutes. Ruth Chris, it is a staple of chains and for us has always been good. They are in a new spot across from the hotel now, and the staff seemed pretty spot on. I have to admit 2 things just to get them off my chest, they had just opened and the enclosed dining area they placed us in, appeared to have not been cleaned, the floor was littered with old food, paper, etc. and the manager Jeremiah came to the table to introduce himself and that was great, it went awry in mentioning Covid Protocols with his states Governor and the current states Gov, and this did not set well with my wife. Brittany,was wonderful and informatve and her team or servers and assistants were spot on, till it got busy and then what started out great became a waiting game, leading to an additional 35 minutes of unnecessary sitting and waiting, not her fault, nature of the businesses post Covid, staffing issues etc, but.... All in all the Service was good, food excellent and we will return. They do have Valet Parking in the Garage but...No one Mentioned you had to get validation for the restaurant, so I tipped the Valet only to have to pay $5 for parking because no one asked. My mom worked for Ruth's Chris Steak House in the 70s. She always said how great it was but I'd never eaten there. My husband and I went to celebrate our 30 year anniversary. The food was pretty good. Steaks were good. French Onion Soup was fabulous! Onion rings were great! Sides were ok. Dessert was awesome!! The restaurant comp'ed our desserts as an anniversary gift. The dessert chef wrote on a large rectangle "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate sauce with the desserts. So beautiful and thoughtful! Ambiance and Service, our servicer was Jeff, were wonderful.
