We had one small issue which is that they slightly damaged a light fixture, but they promised to fix that. I appreciate their effort in trying to resolve our previous differences and would now recommend their services They were called to fix a heating problem in our condo. We weren't up for another two weeks and discovered when we returned that it wasn't fixed, even though we paid them for their work. We called them again and they said they'd have to charge us an extra weekend rush charge to come back, or they could put us on their regular schedule and we'd have wait a few days. It's now been 5 days and they haven't returned our calls to hear if the work has been done. I'd avoid this business based on this experience

Paquette plumbing installed two heating/hot water wall units, and both units had problems with the…read moreventing of the exhaust pipes. Met with Nick the owner of the company, and he acknowledged the faulty installations, and said they could be corrected. However, after the meet, I made three additional phone calls to the office and an email, no one ever call back or reply to my email. According to the installation manual, the exhaust pipe needs 24 inches of clearance below the soffit for hot air to escape, or through the roof. Paquette vented the exhaust pipe right at the soffit, and it caused hot air to drift back into the attic, and hot air condensing into water/ice during cold days. Also, this exhaust pipe supposed to pitch slightly upward for the air to escape and drain the condensed water into the pump located inside the house, however, the pipe was installed pitching slightly downward and caused condensed water to drain outside of the house, alongside of the exterior wall. This faulty installation is causing ice accumulation outside of doorstep, icicles hanging under the gutter, and icicles under the deck and above the first-floor deck ceilings. The first-floor exhaust vent was noticed by Nick, and said it needs to penetrate through the facial board away from the deck. After nearly two months chasing, I lost hope that Paquette plumbing will do the right thing to correct this issue. Now that we're in cold winter time, I have to deal with a pile of ice outside of my doorstep.

I believe we were going to be taken advantage of if Dominic hadn't stepped in to work with us. After receiving multiple quotes from other contractors, not a single VERMONT company informed us about the incentives from Efficiency VERMONT- we had just moved to the area-no one had even mentioned the program to us. Dominic took no issue with downloading and sending us the proper forms. He is that vested in his company, his reputation and sincere commitment to quality customer service leaves every other competitor in the dust. I was told we would need to replace our boiler, water heater, then our heating system entirely- but, definitely need to upgrade our electrical system as a whole. One quote coming back as high as $85,000 for everything- and we supposedly needed everything or we would probably die. (Ok, not really, but it felt like we just might) Dominic walked through our home and in a little over an hour he bluntly stated most of what we were told to replace would be "completely unnecessary." We would, however, need to upgrade a few things- to include part of our existing electrical system, and this is where The Gas Doctors connected us with Duchesne Electric- Jeff Duchesne is one of the best electricians we could have ever worked with to prepare our home for a safe, environmentally efficient future. Quality works with quality- just more proof that The Gas Doctors are the real deal.

When I called the office ahead of time, at the beginning of September, 2023, I had requested that…read morethe tub drain be unclogged, and a new drain cover be installed. I explained to the woman on the phone that I wanted the drain cover (Turn and Lock) replaced with a new one or a trip-lever and strainer cover. What we were left with was a broken tub cover, nothing replaced. See attached tub photos. The plumbers who worked on the job said they had to "order a new part." Additionally, my husband asked them to look at the upstairs small bath and small kitchen faucets for water pressure issues. What we got were two aerators removed and nothing replaced. And now the bathroom faucet leaks because something broke off when they removed the aerator. See Attached Sink Faucet Photo. I called the office on 25 September 2023 to inquire about this unfinished job and the status of the part on order. I was told by the man that answered that he was busy and would call me back. That never happened. So now I have had to hire someone else to complete the job, a new tub cover and a new sink faucet. This is disappointing - to use a term that is as polite as I can get. I don't know who they sent, and I don't know who took the original request for service, and I don't know who answered the phone and told me he was too busy and never called back, but I see this as a serious customer service issue.

My experience with this company was marked by poor communication, missed commitments, and billing…read moreissues. I first met with them on 11/3. Prior to that appointment, numerous messages asking for a time went unanswered. On 11/3, I signed a contract for $5,900 for a chimney liner and hearth installation and paid the required deposit. The balance was paid in full shortly thereafter. I was told the project would be completed by 12/18, or sooner if they could "squeeze me in." A chimney liner was installed on 11/24, and I was specifically told the 12/18 completion date for a functional wood stove remained unchanged. The company was aware from the first meeting that the wood stove was my only permanent heat source. On the morning of 12/18, after multiple phone calls, texts, and emails asking when they would be arriving, I finally received a text stating that I was actually scheduled for 12/19. At that point, I was also informed that they did not yet have a plan for the hearth and had not even ordered it. Later that day, I was told the hearth was on backorder and that the delay was not their fault. However, documents later produced by the company showed the hearth was not ordered until 12/22. The hearth was finally installed on 1/14, nearly a month after the promised completion date. To make matters worse, I later received a separate bill for $855 for the hearth despite receiving no prior notice, authorization request, or approved change order for additional charges. There was also an $800 allowance in my estimate for chimney tear-out work that ultimately was not required, and a $250 charge for sealing around the chimney that was never performed. Mistakes and delays can happen on any project. What I found unacceptable was the lack of communication, the shifting explanations, and the billing disputes that followed. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

After having committed to purchase a fireplace insert from another company in…read moreChittenden county VT., I discovered that the company was unable to offer a chimney inspection and cleaning before installing the unit. In order to make sure my chimney was safe for install I contacted several sweep Companies. Northeastern not only was the first to respond but they were able to schedule service at a very reasonable price within four days of my contact. The team that responded was meticulous and professional and even agreed to do an additional inspection and cleaning of a second flue in the building on the spot for only a nominal additional charge. Back at the office, Dillion the manager also invested considerable time and effort in helping me consider other available insert options that might be available through Northeastern should I change my mind on the first option. While I decided the original insert was still my best choice, based on the exceptional service Northeastern demonstrated, I chose to have them handle the install and I was not disappointed. The install team not only picked up the unit, an exceptionally heavy one weighing in at almost 600 Lbs from the other retailer, but as a team of only two moved it up over a set of stairs and into its final location. In conclusion I would recommend this company highly to anyone seeking chimney services and will continue to use them in the future for not only routine inspection and maintenance services but any other that is needed!
