I had another RV'er at my storage facility recommend Auto & RV Specialists and I am sure glad we talked. I contacted them to set up an appointment to do a pre-trip inspection and was helped by Ronda. She was very pleasant and professional and set an appointment. I was very impressed with the text notifications and updates on my appointment. When I brought my RV in I asked them to check the shocks when they did the inspection. I was very unhappy with their performance and they recommended an upgrade. I usually would give a 5 star review to RV Specialists. I didn't this time on account that I took my car to get a smog check. I don't use this car very much and my battery had gone low so I jump started it. Not knowing that the system would have to reprogram by being driven for 50 miles. I was charged $39 for that information and was told to go drive it and bring it back which I did. I was charged again the same amount. I was given a $15 discount after informing them I really didn't it was fair to double charge me on the second try. So I was charged $67.50 for what should have been $39. How easy it would have been to tell me go drive your car 50 miles and come back. I'm a repeat customer and hope I can go back with out any animosity. read more

I did a smog check at Auto & RV Specialists after a referral from AAA. However, after doing the check, they said that it failed due to a dashboard panel light on. They charged me $36.74 for this smog check, and then said told me to return later for a diagnosis ($109.50 for the first hour), then repairs as needed (unestimated cost), and then run the monitors for $54.75 or longer, and then do another smog check for $44.99. Thinking something was odd, I took the car to another AAA-recommended garage. They said Auto & RV should have informed me in advance that with a dashboard light on, I could not pass the smog check under any circumstances. Thus Auto & RV ran the first test knowing I would fail, in order to charge me for two smog checks plus repairs. This is unethical, and I have let AAA and the BBB know about this. I would advise people to go elsewhere for their smog check if you think there is any chance of failing it on a technicality. (And even if you can pass, they essentially have no waiting room -- just a chair in the corner. It's not a very comfortable place.) read more

Just going through my receipts and saw this one from July 3, 2020. We were driving up Cajon Pass on our way to Mammoth for our summer getaway with trailer in tow. We had a blow out that tore out all of the gray/black tank plumbing. The 4th of July weekend was upon us and I had to get 4 new tires and fix the plumbing that day or we would have to wait till Monday. I called Auto and RV Specialists and I caught them just before closing. They had compassion for my situation. The mechanic in the shop brought out a box of fittings and between what they had in stock, and what they had in that box, I was able to reassemble that plumbing. They were vested in helping me out and I appreciate that. More recently, about 6 months ago, someone broke into my trailer at the storage and I needed some locks, and a few pieces. The folks who helped me that day were willing to break open some packages and just give me the part I needed. Just good people. I've been meaning to write this up for a while. read more

I have mixed feelings about writing this review. I've brought my trailer here for a few years now, and up until the past month, I've had no bad experiences. They replaced my bearings and checked the breaks on my trailer, and I had an overall good experience. When it came to working on my generator, their lack of knowledge caused a second issue after an initial fix and their unwillingness to fix the new problem left me searching for another RV shop. I wish they would have been more knowledgeable and upfront about the extent of the work needing to be done, and thus avoiding having to do unnecessary secondary repairs which doubled the cost of the initial repair. read more

The quality of the work was great but the front desk should provide every customer with a written estimate rather than verbal which led to a major misunderstanding. $400.00 for a generator they broke, that's what I paid after giving them $6,500.00 worth of business. Generators appear to be a consistent markup sales method for them, or they are just so bad at fixing them; it makes them much money. I base that opinion on other reviews. Read Zack A's two-star review. Could you take note of the comment they left? Don't even have the decency to apologize without trying to undercut their critic; they try to make him look bad, so they look good; thumbs down. The generator had less than 10 hrs. Handicapped RV that pretty much just sat. They started our generator, and apparently, there was a rat in the generator. So then they charged me $400.00 to pull it out. All of a sudden, it was going to be a $1200.00 repair, and that they could get me a used generator and scrap my generator for me. Isn't that nice of them to be willing to dump an un-used generator. Oh, Thanks. I'd rather pay $400.00 to take it somewhere that knows generators and get a professionals opinion. I was waiting to see the outcome of that project, but to be perfectly honest, I don't have time to take my generator all over the place to have it fixed. - We also paid $500.00 for an interior cleaning that was sub-par. - We got brand new tires, one of the tires was flat when I got to the beach. It turned out; they did not change out the valve stem extenders. So when I got back from my trip, I had the opportunity to pay them another $150.00 to correctly complete that tire job. So, be aware, if you let them touch your generator know, they will probably get you in an economic chokehold. Actually, with the prices this place charges, if you bring your RV here, you will already be in their armpit of profit. read more

I had this shop change out my water pump on 2003 sequoia, which then was told I should have the full tune up done since the water pump is in bedding. I agreed, had the $1200+ job done came home inspected the care and found loose bolts. Had to take the car back, wasted another day because it is obvious they don't check there own work. A little over a year since I had this job done, it starts to leak!!! (in case Auto & RV replies I did take picture of the back workmanship) Took my car to Jack Bystrom's Auto in Rancho (909)466-4036 and was told that the thermostat O ring which was part of the original tune up was never changed out.... Auto & RV response was SORRY YOUR PASSED YOUR 12 MONTHS OF WARRANTY..... After I have been using this shop for my other cars..... Jack Bystrom is an HONEST GUY/MECHANIC and does not price gouge you.... so needless to say Mr. Bystrom's could not believe Auto & RV would lose a loyal customer..... If YELP would allow I would say Auto & RV would receive 0 stars......... read more

Went in for smog and oil change on my motorhome. 2006 National RV 36.5'. The price was decent for theses services. However they failed to tighten the oil filter. Over several days the motorhome leaked out over a quart of oil on my driveway. During the service they told me that my axel seals needed to be replaced, and this was true. They also gave a fair price to do this. I did not have them do this service. They also told me that the engine water pump was leaking fluid out of a weep hole and needed to be replaced. Quoted me a price of $1250.00. They said that most customers don't get the bennifit of knowing ahead of time that a water pump is going to go bad. That I shouldn't risk breaking down on vacation with my family. I knew the water pump price was high so I took it to two other local repair shops for a test and an estimate. Both shops told me they can not find any problem with the pump, after a pressure test. Both shops quoted me arounf $500.00 to replace the pump. I don't usually do reviews, but I feel that maybe people should be aware when getting RV service. read more

This has the worst personal service ever and they completely over charged me. I was charged 47 dollars just to look at my car and charged 757 for parts and labor. I went to a place down the road and was told I only needed 2 parts, was not charged for looking at my car and was 299 for parts and labor. This hurts my heart that places like this still exist. I was having the worst day due to my car situation and they didnt even try to work with me, especially since i didnt live nearby. I would NEVER go to this place for anything EVER!!! read more

We brought our RV here twice for repairs and maintenance. The owner seems like a nice guy and we try to support local small business whenever possible, so we really tried to like it here. But.....no. really. No. Honestly, I don't remember details about our first visit, so let's just assume it was okay. I don't remember being thrilled, either, but we brought our rig back again anyway. This time around, my husband had called and made an appointment a week before we actually dropped it off, and then we left it there for two weeks while we were on vacation. We were promised a call would be made to a family member to okay the estimate for an oil change, brake replacement and repairs to the leveling jacks, and ALSO promised that repairs would be finished by our return, as we needed to use it two weeks later. We returned from vacation and no calls with estimates, nothing. Five days later, we called ourselves and were told, gee sorry, we really got slammed and we'll take a look in the next day or so. Keep in mind the rig had already been sitting there for almost three weeks, so slammed by what exactly? Burning wreckage from incoming enemy aircraft shouldn't have taken that long. We translated that to mean "you weren't here to bug us, so we caved in to other pushier people that wanted to cut in line". And everytime we drove past, sure enough, there were bigger, shinier rigs in the service bays while our RV was still sitting there getting dustier by the day. Ever gotten ignored at a fancy restaurant where you have reservations while hotter and trendier people sweep past because they're more annoying than you? That's about how we felt. The owner finally called and gave us an estimate for repairs, about $3200. Not cheap, right? We put it onto a credit card then and there, so you'd think things would start to move along. Nope. A week later, oh darn, we ordered the wrong parts and it will take another week to get the right part in. Apparently they're brought in from Cambodia via camel. Now I'm really getting ticked because I needed the damn thing BACK and this runaround was really getting old. The owner got the message and actually had the repairs done by the end of the week (about two weeks or more past when it was originally promised). So guess what, I go to pick it up and get handed another invoice for an ADDITIONAL $1900. Are you friggin' kidding me? No phone call, no requested additional repairs, no signed work estimate, just an oh-by-the-way-you-owe-me-another-two-grand. Holy sh*t. They didn't even mention it when they called to say repairs were finished, just surprise-here-you-go when I actually showed up. I was about ready to faint, so let my husband handle it and got told, 'gee, the parts ended up costing more than I thought and yada yada yada". Then how about a friggin' phone call, friend? I'm pretty sure we had the legal right not to pay for the additional unapproved expenses, but we did, although the owner fairly sheepishly took $500 off the invoice by the end. Still, I don't know if they're trying to pull a fast one or are just incredibly poor business managers. And when we did finally get it back, the coach batteries were dead flat from being left parked forever without being plugged in or the batteries disconnected, AND whatever they'd done had blown the power supply to the backup cameras. More repairs needed, but take it back here? Nope. Sorry. I gave at the office and then some. If you bring your RV here, bring a really big credit card and don't expect them to fulfill any promises. But bet they'll still be really friendly. read more

The work was done professionally and in a timely manner. The last time we took the unit to them - they were unable to find a leak in the master bedroom windowThe. I problem might have been that some of the workers were too inexperienced to find where the leak was coming from. Their prices are fair and they accept extended warranty insurance for payment. The also have a secured lot on their property which is really great - no worries about our property being stolen. All in all, they are our favorite place for RV repairs. read more

My Jeep died on me last week and I was out of my area. I was referred to this place by my cousin so I gave it a try. AAA needed to tow my car there as it wouldn't even turn. I called to let them know and make sure it was ok, as it was near closing time, the woman on the phone was extremely kind and said not to worry they would wait till my car was dropped off. They had my car for a few days and ordered the necessary parts to get my old Jeep going again. They kept me in the loop with everything, always asked permission before doing anything and we're transparent with the pricing. I'm very happy with the service they provided me and my car. I brought my RV in for a routine oil change, AC service, and smog prior to our summer camping trips. I wanted To have the AC checked cause when driving in the afternoon the air just didn't feel cool enough. All in all a standard service trip. I received a call in the afternoon that when the techs removed their testing units from the AC the two valves broke and now were leaking. They wanted to charge me an additional $300+dollars to repair an issue I didnt have until now. Feeling a bit frustrated I commented "When I brought My RV in there was no leaks. I understand Your techs may be trained but to charge me for something that became an issue in your shop is not good business. My RV is getting old, and it will need service from time to time. I hope you can resolve this. An hour later they called me back and said they will fix without the additional charge. In my opinion, a stand up ownership. It's been awhile since I have reviewed this business yet my recent first hand experience continues to give it high marks for quality of work and customer service. If you own a motorhome or RV trailer this is the place to take it for ongoing repairs and/or routine maintenance. No more having to wait at dealerships for weeks on end for needed fixes or service. Have an extended warranty for your rig? No problem, as they coordinate with the insurance company directly for necessary repairs. Their office staff of Victor (communicator elite), Tammy and Geraldine are phenomenal in sharing status of repairs and the ease in scheduling appointments. The work quality is second to none and the technical expertise of Josh and Mark, among others, are a source of comfort in keeping our Class C on the road, as it should be.
