Took my 1998 BMW in for Smog. When I got it returned the driver side door handle was RIPPED off Told Bob, the guy doing the smog said he pull on it to shut the door and it came off and then added he thought it was that way when I brought it in. When he drove the car up to return it he did even set the E-brake there by letting the weight of the car catch on the transmission, I told Bob and he said they don't require the E-brake to be set, Bob said they would not accept responsibility for ripping off the door handle. Also when I turned on by radio it was on a Mexican music station. I gave no permission form them to touch my radio. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I'll be alerting the BETTER BUSSINES BURROW. read more

We have taken our RV to this company a few times for repair and maintenance. They have always done a great job and we have never had to return it for follow-up on the same job. Rob, the Service Manager, is very courteous and helpful. We also just recently took our motor home and both cars in to be smog checked. It took less than 20 minutes to have it completed. I am surprised at some of the negative remarks as we have never had any complaints. Would definitely recommend them. read more

Friendly Service, but at way too high of a cost! I was recently recommended here by AAA for a smog check for my truck. All the gentlemen that helped me were courteous; they charged me $30.00 for a smog certificate. I thought that I had finally found a mechanic that was decently priced and honest. Honest they were, but when I later recommended a family member that needed work done on an intake manifold gasket we were astounded at the 900+ estimate we received from these guys. This was significantly more expensive then even the dealer's quote. The bottom line: why would we pay more than the dealer for after-market parts and service? We left (out the $100 dollars they charged us to diagnose a problem that we had already diagnosed), went to another AAA recommended shop, and had the same work done at almost half the price. All in all, these guys were still honest. It's a shame though because they lost my family's business and in a poor economy, with so many crooked mechanics we wood be more than obliged to pay a little more for extra service. But at the end of the day, a price mark-up over the dealer though is just irresponsible business and not a way to gain loyal customers, period. read more

I have taken my RV to them on several occasions for smog testing. The first time I took my RV in for a service related issue, they wanted to charge diagnoses fee and this fee would not be waived if work was done there. They should have told me that 2 months ago when I scheduled the appointment. They seems to be very "petty" in helping to customers to learn how to problem solve concerns, "time is money..rush, rush, rush.." The concern was corrected by telephone when I called the dealer, on the phone, and they verbally told me how to correct the problem. Auto & RV Specialist lost a loyal customer today... I guess that is why so many business are down-grading. Take care Bob as you know, I will not be coming back. read more

Since this review is very long, I will break it up into several small reviews. During the four weeks Auto and RV Specialists had my newly purchased, but used, 1977 Dodge Brougham RV for general servicing, they drilled into the roof air conditioning unit. They replaced the entire air conditioner, but did not inform me of what they had done. It wasn't until I picked up the RV, that the mechanic, told me what had happened. I also noticed a hole, punctured in the exterior siding near the rear door. When it was pointed out to Rob, (the manager) he denied they were responsible. I showed him photos I took on my iPhone from two days before when I took possession of the RV, and there was no hole in the siding. Another mechanic said not to worry, it would be an easy repair. They installed an external outlet to cover the hole, but did not connect the power cord to it. They said they didn't have time to connect the cord to the outlet, and told us they would finish it when we got back from the Houston road trip we'd planned. They also replaced the two roof vents during the same service order. A couple days after the installation it rained, and the front vent leaked onto the overhead bunk. The work order also had them change ALL the fluids, grease and lube the entire chassis including the rear differential, check all lights and replace any that were faulty and connect the speedometer cable. On our first road trip to Houston, Texas, we got as far as San Simon, Arizona when the left rear bearing froze up. We had the RV towed to Dick's Tire & Auto in Willcox, Arizona. Gary, the owner of Dick's said it was a fairly easy repair and should take about an hour to replace the bearing. It took an hour just to remove the axle cover due to rust and corrosion. Thomas, the mechanic, put a drip pan under the end cap to catch the oil. He removed the cover and there was no oil in the axle. Of course we took pictures of the axle and bearing. There hadn't been any oil for a very long time because there was rust built up inside. The paid repair invoice from RV & Auto Specialists charged us for a complete lube of the chassis and drive train. After another hour Thomas got the bearing cover off and discovered the bearing had become "welded" to the axel. The two units were fused together and were a solid piece of metal. I called Auto and RV Specialists and spoke to Rob, the manager. Rob told me they were not responsible because they had done their due diligence by lubricating the chassis. I told him there was no oil in the differential. Rob insisted they lubed it, so I let Thomas speak to Rob. Thomas informed Rob that there was absolutely no lubricant in the differential. Only after Thomas told Rob we had photos, and his eye witness account, did Rob finally accept responsibility. We were told it was going to take time to locate a rear axle. The first two nights we had to stay in a motel. The third day we rented a car and stayed at a friend's home in Scottsdale, Arizona for the next week. I called every day to check on the progress. They could not locate another axle anywhere. We told both Dick's and Auto and RV Specialists out vacation was over and had to get home. We had to leave the RV in Willcox and returned to Los Angeles. Over the next four weeks, they could not locate a replacement axle. Auto an RV Specialists told me they found, and purchased, an identical RV from a junk yard. They told us they would remove the rear axle, drive it to Willcox, repair the RV and drive it back to Los Angeles. When they got back to L.A. they said the RV ran hot and the radiator needed to be replaced. I asked if it was proper to drive a vehicle if it ran hot. Rob thought I was joking and laughed. This is only the beginning. Is it possible to screw up installing a radiator? You have to see this to believe it. Continued in my next review of this incompetent RV service facility. read more

My husbands Nissan Quest broke down and this was the closes AAA service center. The Van was previous serviced for the fuel pump by another AAA service center. Rob charged us $99.50 to diagnose the problem than called and said he would need to charge for the time he spent calling the other repair shop and Napa auto! Rob was charging a total of $300 before any work would me done!! Than he said it would be another 2 hours before he would be certain about the diagnosis! I asked him who do we contact regarding his lack of customer service!! We than put a halt on all additional services and called AAA!! He noted our receipt in detail to cover his butt! Avoid this place like the plague! This place is a total rip off!! If I could give them no star I would!! read more

Had a big issue with my car dripping oil. Thought it was something really serious. Turned out it was the ring around my oil pan. These guys diagnosed and fixed it fast and at a reasonable price. That was last year. Now, I have a ticking coming from the right side of my tire. My boyfriend fixed it last time but does not remember what he did. I'm going back to these guys because I know they will treat me right and I trust this place. read more

I called and spoke to them regarding my air conditioning not working. I have a 2012 travel trailer. They told me to bring it in and they would take a look at it and check everything out. I took it in the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend knowing that I probably would not get it back till after the holiday. Lo and behold I got a call for hours later and told me that the AC was fixed. Evidently it was a loose ground wire, a very easy fix. He also cleaned my coils tighten down the shroud cover and did some AC ductwork due to he said I was losing air out of the roof. The price was extremely reasonable and they went over and Beyond and did extra things I had a loose bolt on my step and when I went to go pick it up my step wasn't loose anymore I asked them if they fixed it and they said yeah we took the old cold out and put a new one in at no charge. Their staff are very knowledgeable and very willing to go the extra mile. I will definitely be back for all of my service needs. I did see some of the ask comments about the staff but I think they must have gotten new staff since then I would highly recommend this place they did a great job on my travel trailer. I took my 1972 Volkswagen bug in for an oil change and for them to look at a suspected oil leak. I also wanted them to look at my blinker as it was working only sporadically. After examining my car they said they would have to lift the engine. It cost 100.00 to lift my engine and another 100.00 to replace it. The estimate they gave me was greater than 800.00. Yet wanted an additional 100.00 to look at my blinker. I asked them at least 4 times if they would also check my fluid levels in my car; brake fluid, water in battery etc. They assured me that was standard. Of course they would do that. After talking to my son he said for me to get the car out of there. Unfortunately they had already lifted my engine so I had to end up paying 350.00 for an oil change only. I took car to new mechanic, and he checked car over. My fluid levels hadn't been checked as I had almost no brake fluid and next to no water in my battery. So they didn't even change my oil satisfactorily. Do not, I repeat do not take your vehicles there. There prices are outrageous and they don't even do the work they say they will do. How they remain in business is beyond me. Very dissatisfied. Please pass this on to other potential customers. read more
