I've been here many times and there has been a high turn over. Quality and service decreased over the year. Ryan may be a very nice and funny guy, but once you leave your keys with them it's a different chapter. I dropped off my car to get my break pads replace, he said it would be done by end of day. End of day comes, he reported being busy and will take a look the next day. Day 2, still no answer. Day 3, diagnosed the car and suggested that I should replace the rotor since is wearing out, and I agreed. Day 4, picked up my car. I drove my car on the freeway and I knew that the rotors was not resurface due to wheel wobble when I press on the break. I called to report the issue and he made an excuse to charge me for a comeback to resurface the rotor. His excuse was that he forgot to charge me for another part that was added to my car without my knowledge nor consent. Dude, if your going to run a business be honest to your customer and acknowledged your mistake. read more

There's a lot of snakes in the auto industry and I am so glad Ryan isn't one of them! Ryan was recommended to me by my family as we had gone to him before for one of my parents vehicles. I got so many quotes around the area - everyone claiming they're the lowest, where Ryan really was the best quote I had gotten! My Prius needed a new hood and other work done. Ryan made my car look brand new! He even went above and beyond and replaced my headlights. I don't even recognize my own car anymore. He's very thorough with his services while being honest and friendly. We also had him inspect my dads vehicle (another fishy auto man told him he needed work done) for a second opinion and lo and behold, my dad doesn't need that work done. If you're looking for an honest and reliable mechanic then Ryan is your guy. He speaks both English and Vietnamese and is very knowledgable about what he's doing. My car got hit in a parking lot and I took it to this auto repair shop. Ryan helped me contact my insurance and assured me he was able to fix my car. After I left my car at his shop, he talked to the insurance/appraisal agent and got to work right away. In the mean time, he also help get a rental car. Looking at my car now, it looked as if nothing has happened to it. That's how amazing Ryan is at his practice. He is a trusted mechanic that I would recommend to anyone. He also does oil changes and all that good stuff. Edit: I still continue to go to Ryan even to this day. I get my oil changes here and he does an amazing job. Today was another instance of how great local shops can be. My Mazda battery died and I had to change it to a new one. When that happened my radio died and wouldn't turn on. I took it to Mazda and they quoted me $128 just off the bat to take a look at it. They also said the would have to add more for parts and service. That was then I felt like they were just trying to make money so I took my car to Ryan on (08/23/17). He made time for me and fixed my radio problem WITHIN 2 minutes. Disgustingly slow service... we were under the impression( because one of the mechanics told us so) that we'll wait 15 mins for the queue and 30 mins for oil change, it ended up being an hour wait just to get to BE serviced. Then another 40 mins for just a regular oil change. The mechanic didn't even explain the difference in each oils( synthetic etc) like bro, seriously.. I wish there was half a star, not even a star they need to have like a dwarf star for the poorest of service and performance from a business. read more

Yes all of the cars they have help us ether maintenance or repair especially our 2 Z which we abuse so they need constant maintenance Ryan and his employees are all nice and honest and has help us when we were stranded I knew them even before I had my own car when I was 10 years old my dad's truck piston blew so I walked around and found them they walked with me back to the truck and brought the truck back and repaired it for us don't be afraid to ask them anything but please don't low ball them as I have seen them got low balled after they work on other people's cars they usually charge really low for labor and I do feel sorry for them so please don't bother them about a low price just because there good people if you can't afford repairs ask for an estimate. And people with super cars/exotics yes they work on those too I've seen Aston Martins to JDM legends Supra and NSX so they know what they are doing. read more

I was referred to Ryan's by a friend of a friend after being screwed over by a dealership in Buena Park. I had some serious grinding when I would brake, Ryan advised I needed new rotors and brakes. This is what I had thought before I brought it in so I researched prices. Ryan quoted me the price and advised $70 for labor. I was expecting to pay $300-400 and was only charged $245 so I will DEFINITELY be coming back. He didn't try to rip me off because I'm a girl or try to tell me I need 900 other things done to my car like I've experienced in the past. How do you find auto repair shops? You ask a friend for a referral, right? Same here. My friend happened to be an appraiser for an insurance company. I asked for a shop where (1) the repairs were going to be done right, and (2) the price was gonna be reasonable. Now, I worked for years as an appraiser for an insurance company, but that was in a different state so I didn't know the shops out here. So who did my friend recommend? Ryan's. I was glad that he did. For many OC folks, Ryan's auto body is gonna turn them off as it doesn't have a posh waiting room w/ marble tile and a spotless bathroom and overpriced receptionists. But maybe that's because I'm a countryboy and to me body shops are messy places where real work gets done. I distrust fancy body shops - after all, who is paying for all that tile work? Ryan was friendly, and his crew knew what they were doing. My car was repaired right, for a great price, and yeah, I did have to wait an additional 30 mins longer than what I was originally told, but while I waited Ryan took me over all the damaged parts explaining what was done and why, and then demonstrated the repairs. Will I go back? I hope to never have to, but if my car needs some work, I'd go back without hesitation. read more

I just went to Ryan again because my car broke down last Saturday as I was driving down to San Diego. I love going to Ryan... He takes good care of his customers really well. When I got there to drop off my beaten up car, I was picked up by a car rental agent that Ryan refered me to. I rented the car for a decent price as Ryan fixed my car at pretty good speed so I didn't have to pay too many days for my rental. Ryan was very fair with my rate of getting my alternator, belt bearing, and belt pully all replaced. My car drives so much better now after going to the car doctor Ryan. Ryan (Anh Tu) is very professional and really knows cars. I am very meticulous and won't let anybody touch my car, but my dad has trusted him to work on my dad's Mercedes S550 so I had Ryan help me with my BMW Z4M. He found an electrical problem that pestered me for 3-4 years for next to nothing in labor and parts cost, which I thought was a battery or alternator problem that would've costed me hundreds of dollars (BMW dealer and mechanics said those were the problems). If I could give them no stars, I really would but yelp requires a minimum of one star, which is generous in this case. My mom's front bumper was hit by someone else about 3 weeks ago. The damage was not that bad. We took it into Ryan's Auto Center for repair and was told it'll take a week to be finished. After the week almost passed without an update, we called and they said it would take 2 weeks. At that point, we thought, "okay... 2 weeks is quite a while." We wished they would have given a more accurate estimate on time, so that we could have arranged for a car rental. Last night, the shop called and said my mom's car just needed a wash and we'd get it back asap today. They'd call us whenever it was finished. At 4:00 pm today (3/26/16), we called to ask when it'd be done, knowing very damn well that they close at 5:00. They said that her car was being washed and it'd take only 30 minutes. It is 5:18 and we're still waiting for it to be washed. They keep coming back and saying it'll take a few more minutes. We should have taken it to another shop that would've given us a more accurate time estimate. read more
