People who move to Marin from the city love to complain about the Marin food scene. When I hear that, I ask if they have been to RS2Go. I don't know what magic Ryan and his team use to turn out such a wide range of incredible options from such a small space. Fried chicken sandwich? Banger. Huevos rancheros. Banger. The pastrami cured tri-tip. Banger. Chocolate chip cookies? Two snaps and a twist. The flavors are creative, the portions are on point, and there are plenty of options the kids will love. Ryan Scott 2 Go is a food truck operating in a vacant corner lot in a largely residential area of San Anselmo. They've outfitted the lot with chairs, tables, and toys, are open Friday through Sunday only and (on Fridays) they draw a sizable crowd from the nearby high school (despite the prices). At all times, if the weather is nice, Ryan Scott 2 Go is a real draw for the community; they've created a popular little hub of activity and created a destination in the most unlikely of locales. The menu is large, a bit up-market, and based on my order (an Avocado Sandwich shared by 2) the portions are more than ample. But all that said: I did not like the Avocado Sandwich. The person with whom I shared the sandwich felt the same and though she'd been here several times, she admitted that the food - described as "California-inspired cuisine bursting with local flavors" - was too rich for her palate. The Avocado Sandwich had too much going on and the inclusion of tomato jam was not at all welcome. That said, you can like this place for may other reasons: there's a lot more menu to sample, they feature plenty of coffee drinks (and products from Breakaway Matcha), and it's just a cool spot to know of given the unexpectedness of the place. After my experience with the Avocado Sandwich I'm not too keen on trying much more of the menu but would be totally up for a latte on a return visit. read more

The cutest pink trailer whipping up I love smoothies that remind me of Erewhon but better and their salt and vinegar hashbrowns are next level but holy moly is it a wait. Took 45 mins from ordering time to getting a latte and a hashbrown. It's very busy and great for families but I think due to increased popularity it just hasn't improved the efficiency of their increased demand. So if you do go definitely go when they open or be prepared to wait. Very delicious though. Just hope to see them adapt with the popularity and success of the cafe to accommodate. Thats my only complaint. Again the quality and concept is fresh and I appreciate that and such a great edition to San anselmo. read more

Ryan Scott's team catered a small dinner party event at my home in Napa Valley. The experience was perfection from start to finish. I was a little blown away when Ryan himself arrived with his sous chef and team of servers. From TV screen to my kitchen, he was personally supervising a family style dinner as if it was his own personal dining room and kitchen. No detail was left unattended. Perfect table settings, attentive staff, literally not having to lift one finger from appetizers to the super cool dessert cart that was brought table side for our guests to enjoy. Every dish was unique, memorable and perfect Napa Valley comfort - precisely what I had asked him to create for us. I cannot recommend his team more highly. I really love this place -- it's close to home, so it's a treat to walk over on weekends. The food is consistently delicious, though it can be a bit heavy for my taste, especially the breakfast items. That said, it's perfect for those craving something hearty -- or easy to share if you're looking for lighter bites. I appreciate how creative and playful they are with the menu, even if some dishes can be a bit hit or miss (especially the cookies and pastries). My go-to favorites are the fried chicken sandwich and the kale wrap -- both are always solid. This is a great spot to bring kids -- there's space to play while you wait, which you'll definitely do since it's a tiny truck operation and things move slowly. Ryan and his team catered our 115-person outdoor wedding at a remote venue in west Marin this summer and we couldn't have been more pleased. We were hesitant at first as they were more expensive than some of the other caterers we were considering, but we were sold after the (incredible) tasting. Our guests RAVED about the food. It was certainly a highlight of our wedding. The presentation of the apps as well as our family-style dinner was beautiful and creative, all of the food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. I especially appreciated that the salmon and steak were not over-cooked -- absolutely perfect. What a great surprise this morning to find the cutest pop up food truck on my way to The Good Earth in Fairfax. The chef de cuisine is the award winning celebrity chef Ryan Scott and all I can say is WOW!! I opted for the Mac n cheese spring rolls and the Quinoa and fresh Brentwood corn salad. Both selections came with perfectly matched dressings. Portions were ample and very reasonably priced for such deliciousness. We hired Ryan Scott to cater our wedding and it was truly the best decision we made. All throughout the night people raved that it was the best wedding food they've ever had, some even saying one of their best meals of all time. Three months later, and I still get people asking and complimenting our food choices. Our venue did not have an onsite kitchen, so Ryan Scott's mobile kitchen was the perfect solution. We had a consultation prior to our tasting, and explained that we didn't want the traditional American wedding food. Our favorites were Asian street food and Southern BBQ, and we asked if there was a way he could combine them and have it be served family style. He perfectly captured our request and we served candied bacon, a cured ham and Parmesan sopapilla, and empanadas as passed appetizers. For dinner, the meal was plated in large sharable dishes around each table consisting of a sourdough bread with harissa butter, miso-glazed sweet potatoes, coconut-caramel corn, cider brined ribs, and drunken shrimp. Attended a birthday party in Oakland on December 4th and Ryan Scott 2 Go catered the event. I already knew the party was going to be great because I'd heard the band, Annie Sampson Band, before and they are fantastic. I had no idea how awesome the food was going to be! Luckily I met a nice guy in the catering line and he said to me, please make sure you leave room on your plate for the lobster tails, rock crab claws and prime rib toward the end of the beautifully laid out food options. After I made my food selections (and I did choose some vegetables and wonderfully prepared salads in addition to the aforementioned tasty items) I then sat at a table with friends and the guy I met in line came up to me. He gave me a wonderful whipped egg w/spices small dish and said you have to try this. I did and it was to die for! All the food was awesome! He and his staff served up a most delicious BBQ buffet lunch perfect for a group of 50 Zendesk employees after a game of soccer at Golden Gate park. My company gets catered lunches from this place. Overall, I'd say the food is bad. And pretty unhealthy. When the food is done, the trays are left with a pool of oil. I thought that you couldn't make salt and grease taste bad but I was wrong. Also: We're in San Francisco. Leverage what we've got going for us: Awesome fresh produce. What do we get instead? A pretty consistent brown sauce with some kind of solids floating in it. I would generally prefer simpler, more delicious food than so-called "gourmet" food executed terribly. What else? I don't think the meals are paired very well. Each day we get four or so courses. Today, three of the five courses were effectively "cake". Cookies, banana bread, and french toast. So yeah, I wouldn't pay for this stuff, but it's free, so I shove it in my piehole every day anyways. read more
