Accompanying this dish I had one single buttermilk pancake with what appeared to be fresh maple syrup. Good stuff! I'd like to point out that there is a pleasant, clean restroom, which is a testament to customer service and integrity. Something that I always appreciate.. This is a roadside diner feel located near the Good Earth grocery store, which is also deserving of a visit when you're in the area. The Shoreline Cafe has a very competent, efficient, and friendly staff that knows what they're doing. I genuinely don't understand how this place has maintained its reputation for so long. The food quality was extremely disappointing and I was especially put off by the oils and my food was served cold--they did not seem consistent with the quality I would expect at this price point. What made the experience worse was the attitude of the staff. Instead of feeling welcomed we were made to feel as though we should consider ourselves lucky to be eating there. That kind of attitude might be easier to overlook if the food were exceptional but it wasn't. Even though this place is tucked away in a hidden parking lot area, it gets pretty crowded on weekends. I went early Saturday morning with a friend, and we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly everything moved we were seated right away! The staff was so kind and welcoming, and they gave us great recommendations. I had a breakfast salad that I absolutely loved I enjoyed every "leaf" of it My friend ordered the chilaquiles divorciados, and we both had coffee to go with our meals. The place was bustling as we came in, seems to be a local favourite and on a nice warm morning the vibes are great to stop for a bite Hash browns were pretty standard, what more do you want from it? My main was the pork belly salad. Unfortunately this is a pretty small dish to be considered with the other breakfast mains, and for its price tag. This would make side salad at best, ingredients wise there are few, the pork belly either was too small to get a good mouth feel or just lacked flavour. Just outstanding! Came here after hiking with a few folks and we were able to get a nice table on the patio. The service was excellent, everyone was very friendly. I ordered the Mexicali Blue Burger and it was probably one of the best burgers I've eaten. The meat was perfectly cooked, the cheese sauce was just incredible, and even the bread was the right texture. We ended up at Shoreline when there was no parking at another emporium across the street which shall remain nameless. The five star rustic bread which was either house made or purchased from Panorama (no one seemed to be certain) would draw me there constantly if I lived in the area. Alas, we were only visiting for two days. The crumb! The chew! The crust! My grilled rustic bread was filled with grilled poblano peppers, Cabot cheddar, tomatoes and avocado. Yum, yum, yummy!! The fries were great too. My honey had the avocado toast (on THE bread) and he loved it. We met many dogs on the patio, always a plus, and service was friendly in this old style breakfast (served all day) and lunch restaurant. The music is as vintage as the ambiance. Got quickly seated in a booth, diner coffee was great and had a classic American breakfast with eggs, hash browns, bacon, toast and a pancake. Service was friendly, food came out hot and fast. The bacon here was exceptional. Will definitely return when back in the area. They also have outdoor seating. We live in Mill Valley and had never eaten here-we never thought to, but after a nice walk at Muir Beach, we decided to head back into town for breakfast. My burrito was incredibly bland, but very filling. I did, however, liked the way they toasted the tortilla. The filling was dense, but the lack of flavor made the experience okay/meh. My friend had huevos rancheros and he proclaimed them one of the worst versions he'd ever eaten. Soupy and saucy and yet not very flavorful. "I'm not eating here again," he said. Yeah, me neither. There are other places to eat or I couldn't have stayed home and eaten some granola or an apple and enjoyed that more. read more

Luckily, the service and food largely lived up to that initial impression. The servers made me feel like a regular on my first visit and I felt right at home amid the old school diner trappings. My kale salad did almost everything well, but 1) I wish they offered a vegetarian protein add-on; 2) I wish the tomatoes were cut more thoughtfully than what you'd find at a cafeteria; 3) the dressing wasn't spicy as advertised on the menu. Food was ok, like another review says, the portions are absolutely tiny and somewhat pricy. I had the eggs, hash browns, bacon, sourdough toast, and coffee, which I enjoyed but again was a pretty small portion. My partner had the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The grilled cheese was fine but the soup was a really strange consistency, like they had puréed it and then added random chunks and bits back in. Neither of us wanted more than a bite of the soup. They agreed it was one of the best in memory, and it was enough to carry them through an afternoon hike. Cute outside patio. Inside looks run down, but it's clean as a whistle. Very friendly, fun servers for a chill weekday lunch. Parking was fine on a weekday. Very nice outdoor seating with umbrellas for shade, and definitely dog friendly outside! I got the BLT and was pleasantly surprised that the bread was amazing and the tomatoes were so juicy. I had a hard time initially deciding what to get, but when I saw how nice the bacon looked at the next table over, I had to get the BLT! We had a delightful brunch here with friends today. The service was excellent from start to finish- we were able to park right in front, were seated at an outdoor table on their dog-friendly patio, and waited on promptly. The servers were friendly, and the ambiance was warm and welcoming, with lots of families and dogs hanging out and having a good time. After some deliberation (there were more than a few options on the menu I wanted to try- I guess I'll have to come back for more :)) I decided on the stuffed brioche french toast and a mimosa, both were delicious. My only regret was not ordering a side of fries (a friend did, and they looked absolutely yummy). The food was ready fairly quickly after ordering, and the overall experience was very enjoyable. I live within walking distance of the Shoreline Coffee shop and have walked by it hundreds of times over the past couple of years and FINALLY stopped in for breakfast over the weekend. It was hard to decide what to order given so many things on the menu sound delicious. My niece and I both ordered the Santi's Huevos Rancheros. The eggs and beans were cooked to perfection and the dish had great flavor overall. We went at 9am and it wasn't too busy so we were able to get a table outside. We appreciated that they offer Stumptown coffee and enjoyed a mocha and a latte. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. It's a great local spot and perfectly situated for locals and tourists who are either heading up the mountain or to the beach. There aren't a lot of coffee shops like this around any more.
