I've been coming here several times a week lately, mostly for my morning breakfast sandwich fix. If you're looking for a solid, reliable deli, Rye Ridge Deli is definitely worth a visit. Plus, being in the Rye Ridge Shopping Center means parking is a breeze since there's plenty of free space in the public lot. Now, for the food. So I probably have had a first cut pastrami sandwich here about 15 times in the past few years..Always the same size..always the same quality...which I would rank as better than average pastrami....I order today a first cut pastrami on rye...The server brings it to me and it's 1/2 the size of the usual $20 sandwich..I say.."I hate to be a problem..but where's the rest of the sandwich..".He was polite and answered.."We measure out 6 ounces of meat." I said.."that's great..so you now serve a thinner sandwich...term it as overstuffed..but just didn't lower the price.."..If I'm going to a PREMIUM priced deli..and I know that walking in for the past 35 years...I have no problem paying whatever your price is for the same "overstuffed" sandwich you have served for those 35 years..But this was pathetic...Of course..when there is an owner..I assume the owners name is Casper..because he's never to be seen...and he is NEVER in his own establishment..He can't be bothered with long standing customers asking why I'm being served a cafeteria sized sandwich...The owner should be an episode of American Greed.... read more

Was quite surprised that a hot and dog and knockwurst came to $18 being that they were not healthy portions but that would have bearable if the sauerkraut was tasteful but it wasn't. it was quite bland. And $5 for a 12 ounce soda was a bit too much. But while I could have dealt with all of that my main problem was the service. I was treated like they were doing me a favor by letting me order. They are definitely overpriced, but they have the best matzoh ball soup in Westchester, so I go for that. The place isn't the cleanest or the friendliest, but the pickles are good too. Parking is easy in the huge parking lot. read more

One of the worst deli experiences I've ever had since living in NY, although this place's outrageous prices and lack of customization basically bars it from being considered a deli at all. I walked in, assuming it was just a regular New York style deli, and ordered three Turkey clubs. The guy, fairly nice, points me to the menu option "the giant club", I say sure and ask to add cheese and for the sandwiches to be hot. He looked confused at first and then I explained and he eventually agreed. In any deli they'll ask you whether you want your sandwich cold or hot, so I expected him to just put it on the grill with the cheese to melt it. I waited a normal amount of time, wait wasn't bad, and then he called me over to pay. My total was SIXTY FOUR DOLLARS for 3 sandwiches. Mind you, the menu has NO prices, and no one in their right mind would expect a deli sandwich to be 19 dollars. When I got home to eat, what I found looked pretty good, but tasted a total mess. The sandwiches were cold and proudly featuring a mound of bone-dry, flavorless turkey piled two and a half inches thick with only a wisp of mayo, altogether an inappropriate amount of sauce for the massive task of being able to swallow the monstrous amount of turkey.It was a huge flavorless waste of space. And knowing I paid 65 dollars for that felt like a punch in the gut. I will never be back. I never give reviews unless I felt truly wronged, and yes I did still tip 20% because I thought he heated up the sandwiches for me, but he didn't so I feel like a chump. read more

So I was at a 80th birthday party for my aunt and the food was horrible. I took out my phone and opened up my yelp app. I had heard my cousin talk about a local deli in the area that had good kosher style food. My wife and I decided to find it and have a bite before we hit the road back home. So they sell everything edible. When entering the establishment I asked the deli man "do you have a steam table for the corned beef and pastrami"? Yes he answers, great! At that point I'm noticed by one of the managers and she seats us while reassuring us that the food is good. While seated another customer and his wife were being seated and I ask "how do you like this place, we are from out of the area"? His answer was not OMG this place is fantastic! It's like they're good? Ok so I'm not expecting Katz's but something good because the price are almost Katz's prices. I ask for a corned beef and pastrami fatty cut not lean I only order one sandwich ti split with my wife. I Did not want to gamble on a bad sandwich and not wanting the other half later. Good call it was dry. Very disappointing. We both had sodas but that's it. I did not have anything else but this is definitely my thought. Not many kosher style delis around and when you find one you you expect a certain quality of food. I ordered the chicken noodle soup and was really looking forward to some home style taste. The first tasting note was sour almost lemon pith not a pleasant taste. The chicken what there was of it was stringy and tasteless. I have bought store made soup that had better balance of flavor. I haven't eaten here since before Covid! However, I arranged to meet a friend here for lunch and felt I had to complement the restaurant in view of the low two star rating shown on Yelp. The location is very convenient, with indoor and outdoor dining, and lots of parking outside. The service here is both speedy, efficient and friendly and offers a wide choice of good menu items all reasonably priced. Additionally the deli offers a great selection of take out foods. I definitely intend to visit this restaurant more frequently in the future. read more

Visited on Sept 19th (9/19/21). Bought a slice of Oreo cake and a can of soda. It came out to be almost $11 and worst part is that the cake was inedible. The man who cut the cake for us, took the cake out of the freezer holding it like it was a frisbee. There was a thick yellow slime on top and it tasted like freezer burn. Despite it being a regular cake, it was as hard as a rock. My girlfriend and I ate one bite each and we threw it away after. If you're charing $7 for a slice of cake, I would hope it's edible. Damn it, this is what happens when you try to save time and be "close" to your next destination. But please help me figure this one out. The food was average at best and they had so many waiters on hand yet slow to service it's ridiculous. However, as I sat and sat there, more and more people came in and this place has an average of 2 stars which is dead in and I agree with. I'd go with 1 1/2 stars and I'm in a good mood so far today so I'll round up to 2 stars. So I don't get it. This place has gone so downhill over the years. We have been coming here for decades, and today we vowed to never come back. The wait staff was incredibly bad again - we thought last time was an off day! My Mom and I tried to get lunch today and the food/service was abysmal. We had to ASK for a menu, ASK them to take our order, ASK for our side dishes, ASK them to take the order back when it was wrong, ASK whennn were they were going to bring the food back, and ASK again for the check! No one should have to flag their waiter down that many times just to get a couple of sandwiches in a restaurant that wasn't busy! And now I know why they aren't busy- the food! Mom ordered an open sandwich with a baked potato. The waiter asked do you want gravy? She said no. Her order came smothered in gravy! The waiter was indignant and took it back. When the order finally came back the meat had obviously been rinsed off and microwaved! Let's not even talk about the old dry reheated baked potato... I had a club sandwich and the almost burnt bacon was in a big greasy lump the size of a lemon wedge! This place used to be a little gem in the old days. However, the cupcake we picked out was one of the worst I've had, super dry. There were sliced peanuts on it as a garnish, not sure why. The frosting and marshmallows were fresh. There are so many options here that it will make you go dizzy. It is kind of like a diner with both booth and table seating. You can order eggs, sandwiches, salads, and backed goods. They have cupcakes and chocolate covered pretzels for sale as well. You can have it all. The place fills up for lunch so get here before 1pm to get a good table. It is great if you are coming to get work done. The wifi works great and although it is a little loud it didnt bother me. I went with the cilantro lime chicken salad with chipotle ranch. The salad is massively but also not cheap at $15.99. No way anyone can finish that in one sitting. The salad is a little bit of a mess. The ingredients aren't incorporated so you have to do that yourself. It is sort of hard to eat but whatever. The flavors are ok but everything tasted the same. The weird part was everything was different temperatures. The beans are ice cold, the chicken is warm, and the cheese is cold too. I should have went with a sandwich. I also tried the cupcakes. RIP OFF! I decided to give this deli a shot; 1st and last time I will ever go here. I seriously just paid $25 for a ham and turkey sub; yes $25!!! When I questioned the charge at the register the nice man who made my $25 sandwich laughed. Now I understand why there are no prices on the menu. I can go to a half dozen places 1/2 mile away for half the price. At least I got a pickle for $25. And to make this more insulting, their bread is crap!
