I have been a customer for many years, but unfortunately their customer service has consistently…read morebeen disappointing. I recently ordered 170 gallons of oil, and their online portal quoted me $471.24 (which works out to about $2.77 per gallon). That seemed unusually low compared to the local average of $2.99-$3.09, but since their system confirmed it, I placed the order. When they delivered, they were only able to fill 134.8 gallons, but instead of honoring the quoted rate, they charged me $3.09 per gallon -- over $424. This was a huge discrepancy compared to what I should have paid based on their own quote (about $373). When I questioned it, I was repeatedly told the system was wrong and was essentially dismissed. Even a manager implied I was "confused," rather than acknowledging that their online pricing system gave inaccurate information. Mistakes and glitches can happen, but the way a company handles them matters. A respectful resolution -- even honoring the day's posted price of $2.99 -- would have gone a long way. Instead, I was told my confirmation screenshot "meant nothing" and that they would not stand behind their online system. Because of this, I can't recommend ordering from them. Their online pricing is not reliable, and their customer service is unwilling to work with customers when issues arise.

It was easy to reach them and they cared. Since being acquired by Superior Propane, they have become the WORST. I started with them in 2012 and as of today, they have lost my business permanently. I spoke with a rep who told me that she has had many long term customers express the same disappointment. I used to recommend this company but now I strongly suggest you steer clear.

The third time I got through and was told I would get a call back, nope, never happened. The fourth time I was on hold for 3 hours, connected with a representative, was told she needed to transfer me to "new customer set up" but looped me back to the same prompt system I was on hold with for 3 hours. After being on hold for another hour I was connected to a rep and again transferred to another agent, this time in Canada. I don't live in Canada. She asked me to hold and she will connect me with someone in the USA and guess what....disconnected. I've never in my life had so much trouble trying to give a company money for service. Stay clear of Rymes Oil and Propane and consequently the parent company, Superior Oil. The worst. -Mike in NH

Libby, W I have been with CN Brown for Almost 25 years…read more Have had decent service up till about 2 years ago. Not any more. Supposed to have automatic delivery. About 1 or 2 months ago, I had to call for a delivery because I was under 1/4 full and wasn't due for delivery. Asked them to shorten times between deliveries because I, more than once, had to call because I was way too low. Was told they would change schedule. That happened on next delivery and hasn't continued. Called before 9:00am Monday (1st) to tell them the tank was on EMPTY. Expected them to do something about it. Was I ever wrong. Called again about 7:00pm and told them I had no heat and was told that I would get a call back. Another lie. I have a credit balance of about $500 or more because I pay ahead when I have the $. Do this year round so I don't get hit all winter but have it prepaid. It's 7:00am Tuesday and still no oil, no phone call, and cannot, after all these years, trust this company. I am changing to someone who appreciates a customer who never owes them any $ because it's been paid for already. Any suggestions who I should try. I want someone who is as loyal to me as I am to them. I will request whoever I buy from to use me as an example (even if it is in the Conway Sun, to warn others. Someone got to big to care.

I called C N Brown to schedule an oil delivery. When I called, I was told that they were pretty…read morebooked and that they wouldn't be able to deliver oil to me until the following week. This was understandable and what I expected. I made sure that I would have enough oil to last me up until the day that they said they would deliver and I scheduled the delivery. The day that they told me that they would deliver comes, no one shows up, and no one calls to let me know what is going on. So I called the office. I didn't get home until after their office was closed and I got the answering service. I left a message, requesting that someone would call me back. I received no call. I called six more times, each time leaving a message to have someone call me back, each time my request went unacknowledged. The next morning I still did not receive a call back! At this point I was livid! I called and requested to speak to the manager. As luck would have it, the manager, Gina, was the one that answered the phone. I explained my situation, told her that I was now out of oil, and requested that I get the delivery first thing in the morning. She informed me that she could not guarantee that I was going to get a delivery in the morning. She said this with a great deal of attitude. I asked her to refrain from giving me attitude and I told her that this answer was unacceptable. I was out of oil, it was -19C, and my two dogs, my children, and I were now freezing in our home. She said: "If you need oil so bad, maybe you should cancel the delivery and call a different company for oil." WHAT?!? What manager, in her right mind, would say this to a customer?!? Gina, in my opinion, should be fired but until then I will not be going back to C N Brown for oil. I suggest that you do the same. This company is a joke. They do not know how to gracefully handle their customer's complaints and they are not organized enough to scheduling deliveries. If you choose to go with them anyway... Don't say I didn't warn you.

Being concerned about the expensive local plumber I have used in the past I went on the web! Not being comfortable with the label "PIPE DREAMS" I bit the bullet as he was very local and had a high "yelp" rating so I gave him a call the next business day about 9 am and left a message. He called me back about 10am from out of town but requested if he could stop by about "noon' time: and HE DID 1pm! He took one look and started taking his first of many trips to his truck and came back with a ladder and camera and found a leak at the 3 clock side of the connection. It was a very difficult repair. The steel ring holding the toilet was totally rusted out. But he had the tools in the truck . He not only had the tools in the truck he had all the parts to return the entire toilet to NEW CONDITION and rolled out at 2:45pm and I had a new toilet for HALF THE COST ANTICIPATED . I WAS STUNED. as a register professional engineer he exceeded my highest expectations . He knew what to do, how to do it, prepared to do it, and pleasant and friendly doing it. I CAN HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PIPE DREAMER

The next day I called as something was still leaking and he found a crack in the toilet as well as the bowl - Al had dust and signs of having been there.
