We hired RZ Remodeling in 2023 for a patio cover/balcony project and sliding door installation. The project was completed in 2024. After completion, we experienced serious water intrusion and leaks during rain. We contacted the company, and while some workers were sent to inspect and attempt repairs, the issues were not resolved. In 2025, a worker who inspected the project identified multiple construction and safety concerns with the structure. A repair was scheduled but never started, and communication from the company eventually stopped. We later learned through the City of Santa Clarita Building & Safety Department that the project permit had been canceled. We have filed complaints with the CSLB, and the matter is currently ongoing. We are sharing this so others can make informed decisions and recommend doing thorough research before hiring. read more

Beware! They advertise themselves as specializing in many things but they they don't do the work themselvesand dont guaranteethe quality of work being done. They will sell you a gate, and then hire someone to put it in who's never installed a gate before. They will do work without requesting proper permits and then try to hide it from you. They are unprofessional, messy, and aggressive. You'll get yelled at for even daring to ask a question. They pray on veterans and families, selling services they can't professionally offer, but promising the world. Be careful when you see picture-perfect reviews. After careful consideration, I'm updating my review for RZ remodeling. Upon initial hiring for our pool remodel, I was assured the company knew how to remodel a pool, but I was wrong. They weren't able to remove tiles properly which resulted in it breaking and needing an entire retile. Then came the jacuzzi remote with the controller that was installed in the jacuzzi. After multiple times asking to not close the remote because we won't have access to the jets, the remote was still covered with tile surrounding the jacuzzi. Which I then had to purchase a separate remote for 800$ to buy myself which doesn't have the jet pool settings on it. They claim I have one year warranty with them, tell me why every week someone new comes to check the pool and do absolutely nothing. Same thing during the remodel. Rz Cost me another 300$ with a shed company who was working in the property at the same time because they couldn't get their scheduling in order. The tile guy they sent initially wasn't even up for the job. Cussing me out on camera for 3 days until I finally asked for a new guy. A list of incompetent people nevertheless showed up each time. Fast forward to today, it's been 4 weeks I've been telling them how important it is for them to come touch up a crack on the side of the skimmer that they didn't fill (when the last day of work I stated this would be an issue in the future). The last 4 weeks every week someone is again coming and looking at me and this pool. All it needed was to cover a little crack with epoxy. After finally having had enough and expressing my concerns and being upset, they're upset with me for not being understanding. I've been nothing but understanding. And today after finally chasing and chasing I've had enough today. From my experience, this was dreadful and it put a serious stress and burden on my family. Costs that could have been avoided if they had cared and were tentative to the issue. After all the run around they still didn't fix it. I have to hire someone to fix and finish the job they started. I called to set up an estimate and they said someone could come out the next morning. Then, they asked if my husband would be home. When I said it would just be me and that he was out of town, they said I had to wait until he could be present. Then is realized...I had never even mentioned being married!! I usually do not write negative reviews but the services that I received from this company forced me to write one so that I can help the community. I contracted this company to do concrete work in my backyard and build a patio cover. I atleast spoke to 10 different companies and decided to give the contract to this company as they can do both patio cover and concrete together, otherwise I would have worked with 2 different companies to get the patio cover and concrete. The process stated in July. We had couple of meetings with their representative, Sam and he was initially very responsive. I had couple of main requirements like a) no single drop of rain water should come inside the patio b) where the post of patio should be to maximize the space, c) the patio cover widths should extend by 2 ft more as compared to the mainhouse's roof so that they will also prevent rainwater to come in and I paid for this and d) the project should start and be completed in such a way that the place is accessible for most of the time except for 1-2 weeks when the project is getting done. In July, they removed the temporary patio cloth cover, lights that I had to get the concrete done, however there is significant delay in getting the patio cover done as the Company said they're waiting to hear back from the city on the approvals and city has requested few amendments to the design but they dumped the raw materials to my place for almost a 3 weeks before they starting building the patio and as such, we could not access the backyard at all. Sam came to me in Sep to discuss the design, and I said, as I'm not into details, and as such he should make the call but my requirements like no rainwater, 2ft extended should be considered. After multiple follows up and when I offered to talk to the city on delays, I heard back from Sam that the city approved. The permit was applied very late (Aug 29) and approved on Sep 24 as per the website. I was told that permit has been applied for in late July. Then there was delay in starting to build the patio cover which started almost after 16-17 days getting the city approval. This is when I asked Sam to meet me in person and discuss the next steps and he never took any effort to meet me in person until the project was done and he wanted his final payment. After they build the patio, I noted that there is a fault in design and water will come in, the patio cover is not extended by 2ft for which I paid, cracks in concrete, rain gutters are not installed as it was discussed, debris are lying for more than a week after patio has been build. Sam is responding to texts but avoiding meeting me in person. He is coming to the sire when I'm not at home and he also did not talk to my wife properly. I escalated all these to the owner of the company too but honestly, I did not get the help I was expecting from him which was very disappointing for me. They provided solution but not a perfect solution to my concerns and told me that they build a bigger patio than what was in the contract to which I never consented or was discussed with me and I said I owe them more money because of the bigger patio. The owner argued that it is also not said in the contract that we'll remove the debris but we are so just accept what has been done..lol. They never offered me any compensation for the flaw in design, concrete. There is a lot to write but I do not the patience and time. Please think twice before contracting them. I'm really disappointed and I believe I lost lot of money and time on the project. read more
