I have needed Steve's and accessed them through AAA multiple times. I have NEVER been dissatisfied with the service, timely response and/or technician knowledge or care. Most recently I lost my key and the locksmith wanted $500 to help me and I felt him rude and unhelpful.n Fortunately, Gabriel with Steve's rescued me. Gabriel showed up in a VERY timely response time, especially for a holiday! My car and I were transported to my home where I was able to recover my xtra key. Gabriel was knowledgeable, caring (I'm a senior), and shared my options and his know to help me. I've been blessed to have Steve's help me on multiple occasions, including a freeway accident. I had an extremely disappointing experience with Steve's Towing, specifically with their front…read moreoffice staff. From the very beginning, we were treated with condescension, arrogance, and a complete lack of professionalism for absolutely no reason. The staff seemed irrationally upset that the vehicle they towed did not have full coverage insurance--as if that had any impact on them whatsoever. Instead of simply assisting us with releasing our vehicle, they chose to be rude and dismissive throughout the entire interaction. After multiple calls, we found a collision repair shop ourselves and provided Steve's Towing with the exact address to have the car transferred. Despite giving all necessary information for the repair shop, when we arrived in person, the situation only escalated. An older blonde woman at the front window told us that our "insurance company was rude" and that they were "done working with us." This made absolutely no sense, especially considering that they never needed to communicate with our insurance at any point--we were paying out of pocket. At no point did we ever behave in a rude, disrespectful, or inappropriate manner toward the staff. Despite this, they chose to treat us without the basic courtesy, dignity, and respect that all human beings deserve. What was most disturbing was the underlying, yet very noticeable, prejudice in how we were treated. It was completely unacceptable, uncalled for, and frankly abhorrent. No customer should ever be made to feel this way. I strongly advise anyone who cares about the moral and ethical behavior of the companies they do business with--not to give their business to Steve's Towing.

So, as newbies to Fallbrook, when I realized my truck needed servicing (running rough) my husband…read moresuggested we look up reviews locally and find a new mechanic locally (our current mechanic is in San Marcos). Costello's seemed fine, so my husband made an appointment. First issue, some work was done before we approved the work. Then when my husband was told to come pick up the truck, we were informed that the engine needed to be replaced, that he had done an oil change and tune up, but the compression was failing in the engine. His wife picked me up in the truck, and it was running much rougher than when we dropped it off, plus I heard a roaring noise outside the window as she drove us back to the shop to pay for the work done. Her husband told me I had better look for another vehicle. I asked if it was safe for me to drive to Temecula, and he said "local only". When I told my husband the deal (I had already cleaned out the truck, and was planning on vehicle shopping), he said, "wait a minute, let's get a 2nd opinion". So he dropped it at our regular mechanic in San Marcos. First question: Did the other guy replace the coils? Nope. Our mechanic replaced ALL the coils, replaced several vacuum hoses that were failing (the roaring noise I'd heard outside the window), checked the compression, which passed perfectly. Bottom line, my truck is running perfectly now and we didn't have to replace it. Perhaps Costello does excellent work on other vehicles, but on my 2004 Ford Expedition, he obviously got it wrong. Word to the wise, don't go to the first mechanic that's available.

When I call dispatch out on it, I get fed the classic "that's just the nature of the business, nothing I can do, we don't run things like that" excuse. So which is it, guys?
