We were so happy that this place opened up, and we love coming here a lot. From breakfast to lunch and some good ice cream, we are down. Everyone is super welcoming and good with my allergies. The food is good, and the ice cream is so delicious, even in the middle of winter, we love good ice cream. The theme is fun as it's a train, and it's nice and decorated with all the sticky notes and bar stools to sit on inside. There are also picnic tables outside to eat at. This review is for a breakfast sandwich. Disclaimer- we are for the NYC area so we are comparing to Brooklyn bagels and fresh Pork Roll. Unfortunately our sandwich featured neither despite ordering such. The bagel was round bread, not a boiled bagel. The Pork Roll was stale and left us wondering if it was safe to eat. The egg was somewhat fresh and cooked fine. Unfortunately this place is dead to us, despite being super excited to have found a taste of home. read more

S&S is a fun place to eat. The selection of vintage candies brought back many memories. We came here for breakfast and was very pleased with the food. After ordering, the food came out quickly and well cooked. Mickey waffles are always fun and piggie in a waffle blanket is tasty. Well first I am from NY and it was not a NY bagel second the cream cheese was dripping off the bagel I guess they thinned the cream cheese to get more for their money. Great addition to Chapin! This locally owned treat is finally open and it was worth the wait! They have a limited menu at the moment but I'm pretty sure that it's going to expand, and there's still plenty on there for everyone. It is a combination of an old-school candy shop, coffee shop, café, and ice cream parlor. It's a perfect business for the town. It's in an historic building that only adds to the charm. The owner is really nice as well! We both had the bacon avocado sandwiches, which have waffle as the bread. The waffle was a little bit plain but the flavor of the sandwich was quite nice. I definitely recommend getting the onion rings because they were excellent! The fries were pretty good too. They were waffle fries which are always nice. The unsweet tea was perfect, not bitter at all. Also, the coffee is most excellent! The caramel latte is a great way to get your caffeine fix with some flavor! read more

Went in to give this newer place a try because with their limited days and hours open couldn't get there easily. Anyway went in December and was surprised they had no seating inside at all! Cute place... was finally in Chapin when it was open on Sunday afternoon. Tried the hush puppy and the Buffalo loaded fries. The hush puppies were terrible was disappointed that they were described pimento cheese stuffed but they were actually super dense burnt corn balls with pimento cheese mixed into the batter. But the loaded waffle fries were outstanding and an amazing deal! Crispy fries, good balance of toppings and sauce. Will definitely be back for treats and more if the loaded fries! read more

You will not find anything like it. I've had the pleasure of having a few meals here including the breakfast. The breakfast sandwiches are awesome. Lunch has a great variety as well. Many of the items on the coffee and ice cream list have local named themes and are original recipes from the owner. The ingredients to the meals are top notch and it shows. Very disappointed. Ordered 'crispy chicken' (expecting fried chicken) sandwich and got this strange coated chicken (boiled? baked?) The coating was slimy and the chicken was overdone and chewy. To add to all of this, the concept of a sweet waffle and a savory piece of chicken was just revolting. The inside of the store was charming and the candies were very cool but the whole effect was ruined by having to walk outside in the weather to get our 'sandwiches' from a food truck. Nice for something different. The big thing is waffles and old time candy shop. Glad they let you know time it will take to make food because made fresh ~10-15 mins. Kids meals had good variety. Veggie sandwich was very delicious but expected a little bigger for price. My 11yr old got the chicken and fries basket ~$12. Expected a drink with it. He said it was very good. And 7 yr old liked the chicken and waffles. Expected the celery to be a bit more. There is a little seating inside. The ice cream very yummy but did not try. Great place for a nice lunch on a sunny day. The lobster roll was on an authentic New England square cut hotdog roll and was delicious. The shrimp and grits were creamy with nice crunch from bacon bits and good sized local shrimp mildly seasoned. The dining car decorations are very cute. Next time we will try the ice cream! read more
