DELAYED PICKUP The…read moreday after Christmas I went with my dad to this location to schedule a pickup from my dad's house. He had a balikbayan box that included food and clothes (some of them mine) that was going to be shipped via sea cargo to his province of Isabela in the Philippines. The cost of having the balikbayan box shipped to Isabela was $108. Mike at LBC provided us with the slip that included the pickup (order) number and scheduled date, which was Tuesday December 30 between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. That day past 5:30 PM I got a call from the driver who said he was going to the bank and asked if he could pick up the box after closing. I said yes, but he never showed up. The following day on New Year's Eve I called the driver. I said to him that didn't come the day before as he said he would. He apologized and responded that he wasn't scheduled to work on New Year's Eve. Also he stated LBC was opened for half a day on New Year's Eve however he said could pick up the shipment later on the day, but in the evening. I informed him I didn't need his service. Then I asked him if I should call LBC. He said yes. I called LBC before it opened. I was directed to customer service. The representative said she would contact the Union City office. A couple hours later I didn't receive a phone call from LBC. I decided to go to LBC in Union City just past 11:00 AM. I talked to Mike at LBC. I showed him the pickup (order) number he wrote. From the counter he called a couple of drivers. He asked me for my cell phone, which I provided him. Mike said he would contact me if he found a driver. About 45 minutes later I got a phone call from Mike. He said the driver Randy (nickname Randyboy) would appear at my parents' house soon. Around fifteen minutes later Randy arrived. He was very helpful. He also apologized regarding the action of the other driver. As an apology he gave two large balikbayan boxes to my dad. Also he charged my dad $90 instead of $108. He mentioned that the office would be closed at 2:00 PM on New Year's Eve. My dad and me were lucky that the balikbayan box was picked up prior to my parents leaving for the Philippines on New Year's Day. Despite the balikbayan box not picked up on the scheduled date I want to thank Mike and Randy for their help on New Year's Eve.

Plus the perishables were missing- lotions, canned goods, coffee, etc. The box looked like someone went shopping on it. We even went to Costco, went to Walmart to shop so we could avail of the customer appreciation day of sending a box for $50 to the Philippines. It was not customer appreciation day, it was actually employee appreciation day cause their employee could go shopping for free from the balikbayan box. It was so annoying, won't use LBC for balikbayan boxes anymore. The staff was giving me an example of a case when it happened before and apparently the niece/nephew took the items. C'mon, REALLY????? Told them I was complaining so they can find out what happened and I was not even asking for any compensation. I was just hoping that it won't happen to other pinoys who sent boxes. Finally, I called their dispatch office and while I was on the phone, the dispatcher called the truck several times and the driver would not answer. After several attempts, she finally told me to call and speak James Farid, the owner. Upon doing so, he asked me to send the video...,so, I did. I followed up with him 4 times and each time he lied stating that his insurance company would contact me but wouldn't give me the name of the insurance company. After numerous lies, I've decided to share how unethical James Farid is as a business man and a human being.
