if I knew I was going to get the run around I definitely would not have come here as a first time customer! i brought 5 items total. One important dress shirt & slacks needed the next day. I picked up next day didn't check it at the facility, got the items home & Not even Pressed!! still wrinkled just as it was when I brought it in!! Went back in to show Sam and his response was the items had been worn!?! Items Had NOT been worn!!! I asked for the manager he tells me there's No Manager! Wouldnt even give me his name!! I really like this place. They're friendly, efficient, my only issue with this place is they'll break your buttons on your shirt and then make YOU pay for replacing it. That's the only thing that really bothers me, if I pay you to clean my shirt, you break my button or snap it clean off, then hand me my shirt back...and then charge me to fix it rubs me the wrong way. read more

Way over-priced shoddy work. Took my military uniform to get altered and cleaned. When I got my uniform, it looked to be altered to specification, but when I got home, my fiancée and I noticed double creases all around the pants. Both legs, front and back. Even the groin area had them. The initial charge was $200, but since he felt "generous", was only charged $190. My wedding is in 2 weeks, and I don't have the time or money to buy new pants, and get those altered, in time. For the work that was done, I'd say $100 was too much of a charge. I probably would've had better work, at lower prices, in say Downtown L.A. Only reason I gave 2 stars, was because sizing was correct. Otherwise, the price and quality of work would get 1 star, if that. Plus, his YELP says 20% off for new customers. I was in a bit of a bind and needed a nice dress cleaned in time for Christmas. There is a small parking lot and Staff was really helpful signing me up into their system, informing me that for my first visit, my cleaning is to be 20% off! I had a Dior sweater that got stained and discolored from a previous cleaner. I thought all hope was lost and was going to toss it. However, my man here assured me to bring it in as he could potentially fix it. Well everyone to my astonishment HE DID! No stains , is vanished. The color of the sweater got slightly lighter but it is good as new and ready to wear without shame. He saved a $1300 sweater for me. Came in for 3 suits in a slight rush, they were able to turn around in HALF the time they thought, both jackets and pants needed alterations. The gentleman was so nice that took my measurements and adjusted the suits perfectly to make for an absolutely fit as a result. The results are fantastic and the price was way lower than some tailors I have worked with on bring suits in. Thank you Dr J's! My fiancé and I were heading to a wedding for the weekend, and of course he didn't get his suit dry cleaned ahead of time so, as usual, it was up to me to get the job done. We needed a same day service since we were leaving the next morning early up to Carmel Valley. I reached out to a few places I found on Yelp and Dr J's was the quickest response and reasonably priced. David was fast to respond on messenger here and I was able to drop the suit off in the morning (10am) and pick it up in the evening (5pm). When I arrived at the shop in the morning, David knew exactly who I was and was warm and welcoming. He shook my hand and introduced himself. When handing over the suit, he took extra care to inspect the items and make sure he knew exactly what we needed. When we picked up the garments, David was there to greet us and quickly brought out the suit. He then was very communicative on what could be done on the suit in the short amount of time given. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! I am absolutely appalled with this cleaners. As if we weren't already going through terrible times. I had a couple pieces I mentioned to my bff that I was going to drop off here, literally for zero other reason than to give a local small business some business during this time. I haven't had any dry cleaning needs lately and with most people working from home or not at all I figured it would be nice to drop some things off. When we were walking home, my friend told me to take some things to another small cleaners and pointed the place out. I said no way and that I wanted to give Dr J's the business. I brought two items over - neither actually dirty or needing cleaning. One blouse and one shirt (that was missing a snap grommet so I thought I'd ask if the tailor could fix the snap grommet since I don't have the tool at home). They called saying they didn't have the tool to snap the grommet on, and I said it's fine I'd leave it just for cleaning since it was there. On Monday I was told I could pick up on Friday, which is already an entire week but whatever like I said the items aren't even actually in heavy rotation I was trying to be kind and give business to more local small places. I arrived Saturday to pick up, to find one blouse not packaged up yet sitting on a rack and was told the other shirt was "missing" and they couldn't find it. I knew right then and there something was way wrong. I was told to come back the following Tuesday or Wednesday and maybe it was put through to be cleaned again. Again, the item didn't even need cleaning so there was no way it'd need to be put through again. I called Wednesday morning to play into their "missing" scenario and ask to come pick up my item. I was told they would call me back and would go see if they had it. When they called back and told me I could come get it, I arrived very grateful - hoping, praying that indeed they were honest and truthful and someway somehow this item just got mixed up, only to be told they weren't sure if this came in like this or if this happened there and proceeded to show me where the cleaning process completely ruined the suede/leather on my shirt. Completely torn and ripped from its seam, dry and cracked near the shoulder and all together f*ed up. I'm seriously so sick to my stomach it took all of me to act with grace and placate the entire situation when they ruined a very precious and very pricey item of mine. I honestly cannot believe I trusted them. If they are a dry cleaners, they obviously should know what types of pieces can be cleaned a certain way. We aren't playing a game of hit and miss with peoples property, one would think. I'll say you absolutely with zero doubt in my mind can NOT trust this business with anything you care about because you may or may not receive it back in it's original condition. Skip this place, the dishonesty of something being missing, going a second time through so on and so forth only to be trashed is the most distasteful down right absurd wrong in every way approach to business. I can't exactly put a price tag on my item as it's vintage so ordering a new one isn't possible. Stay far away from this place unless you want to have another reason to be completely gutted during an already really horrible time because they'll charge you a "designer" fee on a $300 St John knit tank and destroy a $1700 Ralph Lauren with complete disregard for you. !!!UPDATE!!! 9-24-2020 I asked David to refund the $60 I paid for an attempted repair since this item is completely trashed and he refuses. I also found an identical replacement on ebay for $255 and asked him to purchase as a replacement and he refuses. He says he can only offer a credit at the store for cleaning. Why on this earth would I trust a business who won't accept financial responsibility for a replacement or refund on repair to clean any other personal possessions of mine??? He refuses to file an insurance claim and will not cover a replacement. Absolutely pitiful! I filed a claim with the BBB because clearly you can't call them and expect any human decency from them, which speaks volumes to the type of crooked ass business their running. He continues to say, this type of thing can happen to vintage items, and when I asked him why he didn't disclose any type of warning of this nature before cleaning the item (so I can have a choice in taking the risk to ruin it), his response is it didn't look old. I had my brother take my shirt to get dry cleaned at Dr J's Cleaners. I needed it by the next day. He dropped it off at around 12:00pm. One of the workers told my brother that it might not be ready by the next day since the cleaning crew ends at 3:30 and they start back on Friday. I brought a damaged outdoor patio cushion in after being turned down by every other alterations services in the valley. Upholsterers would not touch the assignment either - too small. Needless to say, I couldn't find a replacement cushion anywhere. My wife found the fabric at Joanns. Originally, my thought was to patch the cushion, which had been damaged by our puppy.
