egusi soup and chicken paired with fufu (swallow)

First time trying African cuisine and it was very hard to find restaurants in my area. Saaraloge's Kitchen is a virtual kitchen, so it was a little surprise for me and my boyfriend to drive to an apartment complex but it was easy to get the gist after! You can phone in and place your order; I asked for the egusi with chicken stew and cassava fufu, which seems to be popular with recurring clientele. After placing the order, you can zelle and it will be about an hour wait since the food is cooked fresh. The person who handed me my order was very sweet! The food itself came piping hot, and although the $30 price tag is a little dismaying, the portions they give you are definitely worth it! The egusi soup was very flavorful and sort of had the consistency similar to scrambled eggs and the two drumsticks I received were cooked beautifully tender. It's a little oily, but mixing with the warm egusi was really good! On the other hand, the fufu (it's listed as swallow) was soft and moldable just like I see on other review videos. There's not much of a taste to it when eaten by itself except for a slight citrus lemony taste that sort of threw me off. I cannot say I was a fan of that but obviously, it was meant to be paired with the stew, which turned out to be the best part of the meal. I know that typically it's not meant to be chewed, so it took a few bites of chewing. However, I WILL say that swallowing the fufu with the stew actually tastes much better (probably why it's called swallow LOL). Try taking the fufu in small increments and swallow with the stew is the tip! Overall, we were first hesitant trying Nigerian food but this place changed it! Will be ordering again when we're craving it

It was my first time trying Fufu and Egusi. Let me just say, OMG. the Egusi is so flavorful and the order came with a good amount of food. She was also super friendly too! I would definitely recommend

Jollof, rice and chicken and plantains plantain was good that's about it. Everything else was dry.

For the portion I give you is not worth a price I'm always trying to help out striving chef but the cost is getting very costly and very far and I know how to make it. I've just been lazy. Will I recommend this place. No, it left an after taste in my mouth taste like soap. The chicken is dry. I'm trying to help people out here. I tried it what a waste did not taste good I guess I should just stick to Ethiopian food and my own cooking since I'm a chef

Food has so much flavor and dishes are a very good in size. Got the spicy beef egusi and it came with a large portion of fufu. Will be coming back to try the rest of the menu!

The food was fresh, The service was prompt, and the quality was not lacking. I would order from her again.

Warning, they do not answer their phone, but take online orders only using the Toast app. I had to use Google to find the link, new address, and place my order. I had no idea there were any restaurants in this area, much less a Hampton Inn lurking nearby. It was making a delivery to Inn that led to spotting this Soul food spot. Inside it's a vibrant, inviting yellow themed front space and dining room. Very conducive to good moods. I decided that the mini combo, with one side and cornbread, was a good value at $13.99, whereas the full combo adds a second side and costs $17.99. Lots of choices, including several styles of chicken, the smothered pork chops both sounded, and looked good. I saw a plate being assembled before I ordered. And the oxtail also appealed. Future trips will expand the experience. Ultimately, it was the pot roast that I ordered, with rice (or not if you prefer), and the greens rounded out the side choice. I proceeded to devour the entire meal in short order. The pot roast was amazing. Killer gravy, melt in the mouth tenderness, and the greens were another pleasant surprise. Hard to say what I tasted other than absolute goodness! Well done, and the host and her assistant were also warm and friendly. Über Eats, and possibly Doordash can deliver to your door.

You can feel the history there and but don't judge it on its aesthetics. It may look a little run down, but the food and service make up for it. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a warm welcome by the host. The menu was pretty easy to navigate but I had heard this place was known for their fried chicken. So of course I had to get the half bird. The chicken was juice and crispy. I loved that the batter was light but not oily. What really surprised me was the waffle. I normally don't like waffles but this waffle was AMAZING. Literally one of the best waffles I've ever had in my life. I just love that Day Day's felt like a home cooked meal rather than a gimmicky experience. I will note that they do not take card here. They do take cash and Zelle, so be prepared for that. Other than that, I had an amazing time.

Okay, I want to make it clear that I am not her to frivolously review a neighborhood restaurant…read more Small businesses are the backbone of our country, specially important and black, woman and minority owned. So here's my good and not so good. Good: the service here is amazing, friendly attentive and I watched every dine in customer receive extraordinary care. The portion sizes are huge and the whole restaurant felt like you were in someone's own kitchen on a weekend morning with all of the right smells in the air for a great brunch. Here's the not so good: it took 4 minutes shy of an hour to get lunch for 2 (2 order of chicken tenders, side of red beans and rice and an order of hush puppies ) prepared. Although the booths were full, most of the tables had their food, so it didn't appear to be a lot of tickets stacked up. When my order was finally delivered, and I took the10 minute drive back home, I opened the bag to fund 3 brown paper bags, wet, soggy and soaking in grease. Because the food hadn't been allowed to cool a bit and it was placed in a plastic bag with no way to vent out steam, every item was soggy and falling apart. The fries were wet and soggy, the chicken had all of the dry coat falling off and most the seasoning was pulled off of the batter that was left because of the water and steam. Additionally, the red beans and rice were so wet, they were almost soup. One of the orders had potato salad as a side, but to received overcooked soggy fries instead. The hush puppies were way over cooked, they had passed the golden brown cook level and were a black brown color and were sort of flavorless and really soggy from the heat of the plastic bag. I'm sure that most of this could have been avoided if I hadn't placed a to go order. But I'm leaving this review so that when you order from this little gem, you consider dining in or asking for the foot with plenty of lead time so that they don't rush, improperly pack the food for transit (let it cool off a bit) and have the time to make sure the order is correct, and cooked to a standard that best represents the business. Pomona needs Day-Days as a locally owned, black owned soul food restaurant. Switching from plastic to paper bags and giving the food time to vent will go a long way with quality for the customer. In the end the food tasked good, I'm sure was prepared with love, but fell flat on the delivery. All of that said, patronize this restaurant!!!!

I originally popped in just to pick up a house salad to go to pair with my leftover pastas at Home, but I ended up dining in thanks to the terrific Gourmet Hospitality displayed by Server Carlos and the new Manager Evan! While waiting for my To Go Salad I was so mesmerized by all the fun and flirty Visual Communications like their Dessert Menu and Happy Hour Specials like the $4.50 Beers and $9 Half Cajun Pasta Specials :0) I initially decided to just stay at Georgia's and try their Sweet Potato Pie along with a Hot Tea instead of moseying over to Starbucks like my original afternoon Game Plan. Carlos took the time to make my Sweet Potato Pie look extra elegant and fancy and the Black Lemon Tea he served me had such a unique and refreshing elegant flavor! I felt like a British Barbie having the most heavenly Afternoon Tea Time Recovery massage after enjoying that incredible Artful Genius Pairing ;0) After the Manager Evan stopped by to follow up on the satisfaction of my food he encouraged me to capitalize on the Afternoon Happy Hour Specials on the Weekdays too from 3-6pm. I saw that my favorite Cajun Pasta was on the Happy Hour Menu and decided to order it with Shrimp along with a glass of Kona Big Wave to celebrate the theme of my Moana Movie Day :0) My Cajun Pasta tasted just as amazing as I remembered it to be and I ended up returning last night to order the full size on the weekend to enjoy outside on their beautiful Patio! I also tried their Fried Green Tomatoes Appetizer which was so good and a personal recommendation from my Coworker Bartender who raves endlessly about it. The Lemon Aioli sauce included with the Fried Green Tomatoes is so good and I LOVE their Seasonal Green Apple Sangria which is an absolute must try too!! Thank you to the whole Georgia's Team for going out of your way to make me feel so comfortable, relaxed, and at Home with great Food, Beverages, and fabulously cozy Company! I really admire the Company for consistently adapting to professional challenges by investing in smart and speedy technology and coming up with better Service Systems to help Guests relax and get settled in faster. The new Happy Hour, Cocktail, and Mocktails specials are so romantically charming and gives me lots of reasons to come back and along with the vibrantly fun and interesting personalities that make up the Service Staff!

I came for lunch and was offered complimentary cornbread, which was soft, buttery, warm, and so delicious. The fried shrimp basket and Southwestern salad were fresh, yummy, and well-portioned. The French fries that came with the shrimp basket were perfectly fried and delicious. There was a great balance between crispy and soft. There was also a generous amount of shrimp in the basket, and the breading was so flavorful. The Southwestern chicken salad had a good amount of chicken and perfectly complemented the shrimp basket. The servers here are friendly and help maintain such a bright and relaxing environment. After just one visit, my group and I decided that we would have to make weekly visits to Georgia's and try all of the amazing dishes on the menu! Although there are other locations, I plan on returning to this one because of my fantastic experience in Eastvale. Overall, I highly recommend Georgia's Restaurant and can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

The menu did not say the gumbo was spicy or I would've never ordered it. I paid extra for crab, but it was not in the gumbo. I ordered the large gumbo but received the small container. I paid $115 which was very pricey, especially since the portions were small and the oxtails were all fat and WAY too salty. The greens were tasty and I loved the yams and cornbread. I didn't care for the negative comments written on my to go containers, one of which was written in bright red marker and said "GREENS ARE SPICY READ THE MENU!"
