These include beef, chicken, falafel, or you can just get vegetables. After this you choose what other toppings to add to it. These include onions, peppers, and tomatoes. It also gets a sauce. These include tahini and vinaigrette. It can also come with a side for extra. My husband and I came here a second time all the way from Powell. The food is truly delicious. We love their gyro meat and mujadara rice with the house sauce. This time I had a craving to have fries as the base. I got all the toppings on it with medium heat and the house sauce drizzled on top. It was so good. It was like a loaded fries platter Mediterranean style. If you crave this but not in the bowl, you can get a side of Greek fries. Overall, I prefer the way I had it the first time around, which is with mujadara rice as the base with gyro meat, house sauce, and all the toppings. The spicy feta and kalamata olive toppings are an extra cost. The combination of all the flavors in the bowls here truly hits the spot. We also got the mezze appetizer plate with baba ganoush, tzatziki, and hummus. I liked the hummus the most. It was really good with the warmed pitas they cut up for us. Even though the weather has been awful I was excited for this Yelp food event with Sababa Mediterranean Grill, which to me was like the Chipotle of Mediterranean food... definitely a cool concept! I came in on a Friday during lunch and there were lots of diners in there but all socially distant. The people at the counter were super nice in greeting me and getting me started with my order. I got the bowl with salad, shawarma chicken, onions, tomato, cucumbers, garbanzo beans, and feta cheese with their medium heat sauce. There were many options to choose from so you could load your bowl however you wanted to! The chicken was made fresh in my bowl and the ingredients looked fresh as well. I was excited to dig in when I got home! I definitely enjoyed the bowl... the flavor of the chicken was great along with the sauce but I'd probably opt for the spiciest sauce in the future. It was just the right amount of seasoning for me, not too much at all. The hummus and the fries looked great but I was stuffed from the bowl alone so if I'm ever back in that area I will definitely go back. Let me say, I love Mediterranean food. Sababa Mediterranean Grill is really fresh food. I stopped by for a Yelp Event and was happy I did! I was greeted by a very friendly gentleman who assisted me in putting together the perfect bowl. I got the lentil rice base with chicken shwarma and added fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, and feta cheese. The flavors were amazing! Stopped by on the way through Ohio and I'm glad we found this place to grab a quick lunch! We had been living off of fast food junk on our road trip so this was a refreshing change of pace. It's kinda like a Greek Chipotle with the line ordering. The staff were super friendly and gave us quick but attentive service. We ended up ordering 2 gyro pitas, a Greek chicken pita and a gyro salad. You have SO MANY options to add! I really like the medium sauce with a bunch of vegetables and chickpeas on my gyro salad. The meats were well flavored with the Greek spices. However, I thought the Greek chicken was a bit on the dry side. My family thought the pitas were HUGE -- Definitely worth the $8. Mediterranean food is some of my favorite food and makes me reminiscent of home, which is New York City. I love all of the harmonious blends of herbs and spices in this cuisine. Sababa is my go-to for this style of food. I admire how you can get a variety of tastes in one easy-to-manage bowl. When I first entered this establishment, I loved how when you first enter through the doors; everything is easy to figure out what you will get to eat. The service is always on point, and they walk you through every and anything you may need to know. The rice, lentils, and all the proteins are all cooked so well. The way that the food is seasoned doesn't overpower your palette, and the taste of whatever is seasoned naturally shines through. To top it all off, everything is prepared fresh for you. If you are a fan of fried, make sure that you get the ones here, they are seasoned and cooked to a crisp perfection. The fried are actually finger-licking good if I don't say so myself. read more

Mine of my favorite places. Set up like Chipotle but Mediterranean food. Fresh and yummy made just the way you like it - portable sandwich, rice bowl or salad style. One of the few places I will eat falafel. Schwarma seems to me very popular but I have never tried. Gyros are great.For lunch today I wanted to go light since I knew I was having a big birthday dinner out. I got a Greek salad - my way - with lettuce , cabbage (fora nice crunch ) , red onion, cucumbers, tomato's,chick peas/garbanzo beans, and some feta. It sure hit the spot. The Yelp effect works!! I went hear for a Yelp elite event and couldn't stop thinking about it. I happen to be in the area with a friend a few weeks later and told her we had to go there. I LOVE Greek food and this place is perfect. You can make whatever bowl you would like, customize it to be perfect for you. The price point is great for tons of food that you get. My husband thought I may like this place because I love Brassica so I went in being a bit judgy. I basically thought I would hate it because it wasn't nearly as fresh and unique as Brassica. To be honest it was better than I anticipated. The chicken was great, I kind of wish it wasn't giant chunks and more so shredded so I get more in each bite (so I did that myself and liked it so much more). The hummus wasn't bad either. Not amazing but it was good! I hated that the toppings weren't anything special except for the cabbage, that was a good addition. Feta and olives were extra. Kind of annoying in my opinion because they were actually considered Mediterranean. We may have also ordered it wrong because we didn't get rice. We wanted the pita on the side so I'm thinking she thought that was our base. The menu was super confusing so that was fun. I walked way really confused and the lady helping didn't actually ask if it made sense either she just left is confused and had some other guy check us out. I'd probably give this place a 4 if it wasn't basically the same price as Brassica. Not worth $18 in my opinion. Maybe if we shared a bowl and ordered it right. I have been here many times as it is right down the street from me. I typically get a gyro salad with the spicy sauce. It's sooooo good, especially for people like me who enjoy spicy food. The only reason I give this place 4 stars and not 5 is because: 1 - They don't have curbside service 2 - You can't order anything on the phone 3 - I got the greek fries once and they were terrible, won't be ordering them EVER again. I love the idea of all the fresh toppings and appreciate again the bite size chop on them. The fries were good, nice and crisp not raw in the middle. The baklava is excellent not too dry and is nice and flaky -l wonder why l didn't get two pieces. My only suggestion it that some brightness is needed in the restaurant. I know we are in a CoVid situation but there need to be some greenery or something to cheer up the place a bit. I really like the artwork on the walls. We had a wonderful early lunch yesterday here after bookmarking it due to great reviews. By the time we left around 12:15, the line was to the door. So glad they appear to be doing well shortly after their grand opening. I think it helps to be in a busy shopping area and near a hospital. We got free samples of the dips and pita along with our orders. I had the salad base with falafel and veggies. My daughter had a gyro with lamb. All wonderful and reasonably priced. I had this place bookmarked for a while so I wanted to visit it so many times. My friend even told me how great it is. This place used to be a Steak Escape and how I would know that is my sister would come here all the time. I'm assuming she is still coming here even with the name change because my family loves Mediterranean food being brought up with that food in our culture. Let me say I first came in clueless as to what the menu was like and it took me some time to think about what I wanted. I let several people go in front of me as they were coming in just so I could think about what I wanted. Let's just say I want my first experience to be good that I will want to come back no matter what the situation is. I saw Yelper Greg and it looked like he was enjoying his meal. Finally, I make up my mind within 20 minutes and say let's just go with a simple salad. Although I asked for gyro meat inside I don't mind I got the mild chicken. When your a clueless customer anything sounds good as long as the restaurant has left a good impression on you from the service to the food you receive. I was pleased with the service as the man working there apologized for my wait even though I did it purposely to look through their menu and give myself some time to understand what I really wanted. The atmosphere is like a Piada or Chipotle fast and you pick you base of rice, salad or pita . Next you pick your protein of gyro, greek chicken, chicken shawarma, falafel or veggie. You then choose your toppings and sauce. When you pay the dessert is on the side of baklava. Someday, I will learn to make baklava myself so that I don't have to buy it at a restaurant not that I don't like it there. You have your choice of fountain drinks, bottled water, iced tea or San Pellegrino. So you definitely have a wide array of options available to you. I have been here a dozen times since my work place is 5 minutes.
