I've been going to Sabatini's since the 1980's and worked there for two years in the 1990's. The pizza has always been consistently good and remains so till this day. First time there and the service was bad. Saw my waiter one time and that was to order. Had to bother a different waiter just to get my water filled or just for anything else. The guy at the counter didn't seem to pleasant. Thinking the service there is just rough all around but, the food is excellent. Guess ya gotta get the good with the bad in this case. read more

One of the best places to get a slice in the Wyoming Valley. The service is average-to-good, while the pizza is excellent. Sabatini's also serves birch beer, which is pretty rare to see around here. If you like eating amongst the lord of the flies, this is the place for you! Service is terrible. The food was like left overs from another place...my old elementary school cafeteria in 1984. The lady serving it also reminded me of the lunch lady. Not the cute cuddly one either...the one with the mole who smoked and coughed lot. I paid $50 for a small pizza, a small cheese-steak w/ fries & flies, a bowl of OK pasta and sauce & 3 cokes w/ 3 flies! I can't believe this place has gotten so many good reviews! I live within a mile of this place, and after trying their pizza about 5 years ago we never went back. We got their pepperoni pizza, and it was absolutely disgusting. Nobody at our table could eat more than a few bites, that's how bad it tasted. White thin crust pizza is thin and crispy; Could use more rosemary tho. Red with thick crust is different because it is a traditional round instead of Old Forge or Sicilian style. Asked for a sample of a beer that was on special and was told by bartender; he could not do that! We could purchase a 4oz instead!? Did not make sense to purchase that if the sale price was cheaper per ounce if we liked it?? Their was four of us and we spent $$ that night. Wow! I do not understand why no sample taste!! Went to sabatini's for dinner today at 5:30. Took my parents who still live in the area. I Haven't been there in years. My father always raved about the pizza. Well here is the scoop. First of all, the service was terrible. The waitress was a miserable human being who could not have cared less. She served my husband a beer with half of it spilled on the tray. The pizza that is supposed to be "better than anything around" had no taste. And we got several toppings on it. Oh I forgot to comment on the Caesar salad....like I'd like a bit of lettuce with my dressing! The poor lettuce was just drowning. I will never go back there again! I'm updating my review and knocking it down a star because the last three times I've been there all has been less than stellar. I ordered a take-out pie and I arrived early for pickup. The pie was ready. When I got into the car I dug into the pie. Yes, I do that! It was only warm. Hummmm? Pie must have been pre-made or something, but it def. wasn't piping hot. Two other times I dined-in and the service was very sketchy. They took our order quick enough and brought our beverages quick enough but that was it ... the pie took a while, which was ok and worth the wait when it's piping hot, but after that the wait staff was nowhere to be found. She walked by plenty of times but never stopped to check-in on us. No refills on sodas and my beer glass went dry. WTF. We even had to stop her in order to request our check. read more

One of my favorite local pizza joints. Old Forge has nothing on Sabatini's. The sauce is unmatched and the beer selection is downright astounding. I love crispy crust pizza and this was perfect. The crust is thin and sufficiently topped to the edge, no dry crusts here. The sauce is sweeter than your average NY style but it's good. The mild wing sauce was thick and flavorful. The booths are a bit small but then again I'm a big guy. The big downside is the cash only status. Sabatini's pizza is excellent! Their sauce is a bit sweet with a slight tang. Their crust is very thin, making for a crispy exterior. This isn't your typical cheese-over-sauce pizza; you'll get some bites that are just sauce and dough and some that are just cheese and dough. Beware, this place only takes cash. They have an ATM on site with a $1.75 service charge. Lots of beer, too, available for takeout. Plus, they're always quick- 15 mins from call in time to take out. Decent enough pizza, AMAZING beer selection - one of the best in the area, a must if you are only in town for a short while and need a quick fix for the family. Staff is rather knowledgeable, can steer you in the right direction as far as food & beer are concerned, table service is always just about average... I'll drop in when I am back in town. I know I'm odd man out on this one. A lot of people at work recommended this place for good pizza and I was MORE than disappointed. Being from NY my expectations for pizza is always high and this place didn't even come close. I ordered a large pie peppers and meatballs and what I got was a small personal sized pizza with a few pieces of pepper and tiny specs of meatball throughout. I was splitting this pizza with someone else and needless to say we were still both starving after easily polishing off this "large" pizza. I am from the south, but when we visited my wife's home in PA, she introduced me to this place. I really like the pizza they serve here. Every time we travel up to PA. we stop in here several times. We usually bring some back with us, but along the drive back it disappears. Just cannot say enough about it. Stop by and give them a try. I get the thin crust cheese with extra sauce. Not a fan...pizza had a very smokey taste to it. Dining room needs updating, has a 70s feel to. Booths were very small, had a handicapped person with me who could not fit in a booth. Had to go into a closed off,very closed area for a table. read more
