This was never the best pizzeria in Old Forge but I've probably eaten here a hundred times and have spent 15 years defending it, so it holds significance in my food journey. The late 2025 experience was between sad and insulting. Flat dough on 3 pizzas, chintzy toppings, only half the soup container was filled and didn't include bread, sloppy sandwich, and the woman on the phone sounded like she wished she had retired five years ago. Nobody ever said that this was the most consistent restaurant in Old Forge, but when your restaurant reaches the point where you're dragging down the reputation of the town's food scene, I think it's time to close.

Today's pizza is basic and right to the point, a patron behind me told me after asking what the popular choice it's their sweet sauce pizza was, so that's what I got. Now sitting there, I noticed they do a good amount of take out. I also saw the same door dash guy a few times. Now, how was my pizza you ask? This came out nice and hot, the crust was nice and crisp, the sweet sauce was amazing. I do want to add the employees were very nice being my first time ever here. Their crust is very fresh. Crunch my and chewy all at once. The sauce is authentic homemade pizza sauce. It's a little tangy. We tried two trays one plain and one sausage and onions. Both were outstanding. They are only open 3 days a week and by the taste of the pizza I can see why. They don't need to open the rest of the week. read more

Calling Angelo's is a journey, they are operating off of a single land line so you usually have to call 2, 3, or seriously on busy nights or a Friday during lent 20+ times. From there you tell them the size, crust type (regular or thick), sauce type (regular or sweet) and then any toppings. Be prepared to wait at least 30 mins, but in many cases over an hour. While this sounds like an awful experience, it's certainly worth it. This pizza incredible. Last time I stopped by it was cash only, but there's an ATM. When you go in, there's a counter up front and a cooler stocked with drinks. The space has a few tables, but most people are doing takeout. Angelo's, while it's not easy, I love you!
