I ordered mini bandeja from this place it cost me $13 a plate... when I opened the food it was a joke!!! The portion is baby portion.. three spoons or meat.. half of your small finger is the sausage... rice forget about it.. Went here on a week night. Food and service was kinda Blahhhhh. The waiter acted like he was insulted that we didn't like plantains, and we weren't eating them. I'm giving this place 2 stars. Terrible experience tonight... I have a pork allergy and asked my waitress three times if the red beans have any pork in them... she insisted they didn't contain pork. I eat some then swear I taste pork and ask her for the FOURTH time and sure enough there was pork in the beans. True carelessness! Let me start of by making a short PSA to everyone who keeps misspelling Colombia. There is NO 'u' anywhere in the spelling of the country/ or adjective, "Colombian". Now, as for this restaurant. I can honestly say I have never experienced such terrible service. My mom and I came in on a Saturday for lunch. It was full, so we had to wait on line for a table. After around 30 minutes of waiting, we were told that we could sit at the bar and continue waiting for just a couple more minutes. Ten minutes later a waitress finally takes us to a table, takes our order and brings us drinks. She returns after another 10 minutes to tell us we need to get up from the table, because they need our table for a larger party. Since there were no other available tables we were re-seated at the bar. I have no problem sitting at the bar. I do have a problem with the way were moved around the restaurant, as if we're not paying customers. The woman behind the bar turned out to be the owner's wife. She apologized and gave us free dessert, but some dry dessert wasn't enough to take away the unprofessionalism of their staff. As for our food, it was subpar at best. The meat was thin, bland and dry. If you want good Colombian food and service, try Pollos El Paisa but don't waste your time here. read more

The food here was very good for a local place. The prices were reasonable and the staff was nice. I will most certainly eat here again.

Let me start off by saying the food was very good. The service, however was lacking at best. The waiter was slow to take a drink order, then it took more than 10 minutes to get the beverages. He never came back to see if we wanted anything else to drink. The wait time for the entrees was very long also. If you are very patient, and don't mind dinner taking a couple of hours (impossible with my 3 kids....) than go and enjoy the food. We all enjoyed our meal once they arrived! read more

We've been coming here for quite some time and being Colombian ourselves feel we have a good idea of what typical Colombian food should taste like. At first the portions and prices were fantastic. The service was questionable but friendly none the less. Lately the plates and portions are inconsistent. The prices have gone up and the quality and portions have gone down. I understand inflation but you can't lessen the quality. Tonight we ordered 4 skirt steaks and each one was different in amount and incorrectly prepared. One was thick and cooked perfectly others paper thin and overcooked, one was half the size of the other but all 26 dollars. The chicken has an unnatural flavor and color. The white rice has become so over powered by Garlic that it's actually inedible. We tried to voice our feelings tonight which we rarely do but we have become friendly with our server. The owner didn't even bother to come over, she started looking at us dirty and sent over her daughter not so much as to apologize as to make excuses about their butcher and delivery. I went here with a group of 8 from work and was extremely happy with both the food AND the service!! The food was delicious as well as plentiful. I personally had the mixed shrimp with rice and fries dish. The fries were, well, fries, and the rice mixed with shrimp was delicious!! It came served in a silver pot which kept it nice and hot throughout my whole meal. Others ordered the salmon,flounder,steak, and chicken dishes to name a few and everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. I can't wait to go back with my family. This place will become a regular spot for us!! The service was terrific as well. The staff was very attentive and pleasant to deal with!! I love coming here. I usually get the bandeja tipica which has the best thin steak, it may be thin but somehow still juicy. There's something fantastic about the arepa con queso, i don't know if it's the cheese or the extra layer of butter but it's wonderful any time of day. Even the small yellow arepas are wonderful, reminds me of papa criolla but in corn cake form (crisp outside, soft moist mashed-like inside) best arepas I've had that you can eat it plain! read more

Unfortunately I was disappointed with the basic on the go lunch food, the rotisserie chicken. The 1/4 chicken was very small and the temperature of it felt like it was microwaved. I was expecting a tasty marinated chicken. I did not get that. The sauce that the beans were in was tasty. I also purchased an empanada. Tasted fresh, but a lack of spice. Sabor a Colombia loses another old customer due to rude staff. How do you expect to operate a successful restaurant with service like this? The owner should not trust the waiters/staff to run the restaurant in her absence!!! We had a party of seven this past Sunday evening 9/23/2018 when a waitress motioned to the two waiters about setting up two tables. The restaurant was slightly full for a Sunday evening but there were at least 8 tables available then all of a sudden they stopped and dismantled the already completed setup. All this while the waitress said it would be two mins that it was almost completed. We waited another 10 mins then we asked the waitress that now had a puzzled look in her face what happened? She proceeded to sit another party of four that walked in after us to the just broken down set up. She didn't offer an excuse other than that it would be another 40 mins wait. At that point, we walked out in disgust. Shame! Shame! New and old customers do your selves a favor go to Pollo's Paisa in Westbury the owner greets all customers at the door. No one is rude there and customers matter. Food is excellent at Pollo's Paisa. read more

on a chilly saturday night we wanted to try a nice place with good homestyle cooking ! i should've made it myself ! although this place looks nice when you walk in and they have plenty of tv with their national pastime playing on them , music playing as well nice atmosphere but when it came to food thats where it all falls apart ! our apps empanadas , were tiny and a bit dry ( this word will be used often ) , i ordered a large arepa with cheese , i love these and have tasted a few from many different countries including columbia , well this one came out a dry disk with burnt in cheese on top not really all that great either , but our main dish A COLUMBIAN STLYE BBQ should make up for the others ? nope , this plate comes with 5 different meats , sirloin ( ordered med, came out well and dry ) pork loin ( paper thin slice of meat dry as well ) the chicken breast ( pounded thinly and just like the others dry out ) blood sausage ( didn't taste like blood sausage but there again recipes do differ from region to region ) chorizo ( ehh cooked again a bit dry ) the shrimp ( 3 shrimp the only thing on the plate that tasted as if it was freshly cooked ) thank god there was a spicy dipping sauce in the table that was tasty and we used it to add flavor and moisture to the meats ! normally i would return the dish and exit but it was late 9:45 and we were hungry so we managed to chew some cowhide and wash down some of it ! by far one of the worst columbian restaurant we have been to read more

Let me just start off with saying that I've been here two other times with no issues. The food is good and the prices are okay so when my friend and I wanted to meet up for lunch, I suggested it. It was empty when we got there which makes sense since it was only 12 pm on a Tuesday and our server was very nice. We enjoyed the food and had an overall good experience. Fast forward a couple of hours and I didn't feel too good. I'm currently nine months pregnant so I just chalked it up to labor pains and tried to sleep it off a bit. Next thing I knew I was violently throwing up and had outrageous diarrhea. That's pretty much how I spent the next five hours of my night. The vomiting stopped but otherwise I still feel terrible. The next morning my friend (who had a differnet meal) told me she had the exact same thing going on. I called the restaurant (not looking for a free meal or to cause commotion) to let them know that we were sick so they can keep an eye out for sick staff and the owner said "well, I don't really know what you want me to tell you". I was blown away. Then she said that her restaurant is fine and there's a bug going around we could've caught. Once again, wow. Then when I got agitated bc she was clearly insensitive and not willing to be accountable she said she's got a lot going on in her personal life. Needless to say, I WILL NOT BE going here again.
