Unbeknownst to me, I'd had food from here before. My hubby said he'd gotten take out in the past, but this was the first time we went in. There was a gentleman who saw us before we even got through the door. Greeted us, and seated us right away. Told us about the specials, various margaritas for $5 all day! (Apparently this is a Saturday thing). Solid menu selection, breakfast served all day, great ambiance, it was super clean, even in the bathroom, everything stocked and smelled nice. Our food came out so quick! Everything was hot and delicious and just as we ordered it. In a time when good service is hard to find, this place has mastered it. I went here yesterday to throw my wife a big birthday party. The food was excellent, I had the carne asada. The steak was tender and flavorful with large portions. She had camerones a la Koran, which had a nice kick to it. She likes her spicy food spicy and it didn't disappoint. Food took a while to come out for some of us. I got my food quickly, but others at the table had to wait 20 more minutes after the first people got their food. Went to Sabor A Mexico earlier this week with friends. This is a small neighborhood type of Mexican restaurant with both indoor and outdoor tables. We were greeted warmly as we entered and were sitting at a table with chips and salsa right away. The restaurant was well lit, clean, and had a television mounted on the wall for those that can't miss a sports event. We weren't too hungry so we all shared the birrias tacos (3 to an order) and two orders of fish tacos (2 to an order). All of the plates came with rice and beans. Everything was delicious. The birrias tacos were melt in your mouth good. The meat was tender and juicy with a little bit of spicy kick now and again. The fish tacos were also great. The fish was battered and fried, topped with a white sauce and veggies. The beans were delicious as was the rice. This is a place I definitely want to try again, just so I can try other things on the menu...but I would wholeheartedly get the birrias tacos again. Although I don't think I could eat three by myself since the meat was so rich, so I'll have to come again with friends and find other delectable things on the menu to share. read more

Elk Grove has a lot of good Mexican food and a few not so good. This by far is the best and most traditional. The enchilada sauce is what you would find in Mexico. Posole is excellent. Quesabirria tacos are pretty good too. The restaurant is clean and the service is very good. Our three grandchildren eat free on Monday's and their loyalty program is once you spend $100 you get a $10 discount on your next visit. Simply, a great family run restaurant. read more
