We are new to the neighborhood and decided to try it based simply on driving by and seeing it. We were seated immediately, about half the tables full, but right next to a half wall by the kitchen. First off, they brought chips, salsa, and water. The salsa cups were pre-packed and stacked on trays with more trays on top on a counter. Not refrigerated or even covered. The ice water came from an uncovered pitcher and ice from an open top cooler also sitting out on a counter. The uncovered part wouldn't be so bad if there weren't flies all around us. Food was less than impressive. We could actually see the cook putting food in the microwave and sure enough, all of our food was zapped. Dry, chewy, no flavor, all the things that make microwaves bad. Definitely will not be back, live and learn. read more

I've been going there for about six years. The guys there are great. The food is really good and the portions never leave you hungry. They mix good drinks and have all the expected Mexican beers available. Every time I go I feel like I am welcomed as a friend, which really adds to the atmosphere. It's OK. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. My husband's dish looked good, although he didn't have much to say about it, which, knowing him, means it was OK. I ordered the huevos rancheros with chorizo and it was...gross. It was really greasy and oily. I actually can't believe I ate as much of it as I did - maybe I was starving. But everyone's plates around us looked good, so maybe just don't order that? The chorizo reminded me of...ground beef from Taco Bell. I would know, since I worked there for a year as a fresh 16 year old. And let me tell you, it's not a compliment to have your food resemble that of Taco Bell's! Awesome service. We came in at 9:30 and they were just about to close but the gentleman still waited on us. The rice was excellent and the beans have a hint of spice. The Pico sauce is also excellent. They had a very nicely decorated restaurant. The chips were good and so was the salsa provided. The meat was flavorful. I had a shredded beef tostada and taco. The service is extraordinary and their food is very tasty! I usually get their Deluxe Burrito with chicken. I really like how their shredded chicken is really shredded, other mexican restaurants try to pass off chunks of chicken as "shredded". They put a lot of tomato sauce on top of the deluxe burrito which gives it a lot of flavor. Their carne asada is also really good, and their pico de gallo is amazing. read more

We tried this place on my bday and I'm glad we did! It was a Monday so it was pretty quiet. Service was friendly and fast. The food was delicious. I had carne asada and my bf had a burrito. I do not understand the good reviews for this place. I hate giving bad reviews but had to warn others. We went to Sabor a Mexico and were not greeted with any type of enthusiasm. Throughout the meal it seemed like we were more of a bother than anything and trust me I am a very grateful customer. I love Mexican food and I would say I could have cooked better fajitas than here. The chicken was in minuscule bits and way overcooked, not even sure it what part of the chicken it came from. The reviews of this place are definitely misleading. This is perhaps one of the most, how can I put it, inauthentic mexican-american/tex-mex food I have ever eaten. Definitely not Mexican food. The BEST carne asada in western Washington! And if you love homemade salsa that's flavorful and spicy you'll love Sabor's. The chips are warm and crunchy. I've been dining at this establishment since 1999, when it was formerly Viva Mexico and I've tried many Mexican restaurants and this one has, by far, the best chicken fajitas, polla a la crema, and of course the carne asada!
