After reading Yelp reviews, we decided to give this place a try. We were not disappointed! They had a nice selection of food and the rodizio was great too. We had the super special deal. 15 bux for all you can eat buffet and rodizio meats and included your drink ( soda, bottled water, etc. ) and dessert! We had the serradura, which was delish! They also have a liquor license now so we had sangria. It was just perfect. The only negative was that there were some pesky fruit flies attracted to the sangria. I'm deducting a star for that. I've eaten here many times before and the food has been great. So naturally when my co-workers and I were in the mood for Brazilian food I said we should order from here and so we did. We got their BBQ special for "3 people". When we got our order in we had a mountain of yucca, fries and plantain. Where's the meat? We got 2 tiny, shriveled pathetic dried pieces of picanha. And all the other pieces of "meat" sausage, chicken were buried under the fries which they served so generously and were so cheap on the meats. The food was cold, tasteless, just plain bad. I've been coming here for years im so disappointed. I'm not returning for overpriced tasteless food which is a ripoff. PLEASE READ IF YOU NEVER BEEN HERE AND ARE PLANNING ON GOING The way the restaurant charges for the food is a bit confusing at first. It is set up as buffet restaurant but does not have a set price per person (unless they have a promotion going on). There is a salad bar which includes a variety of side dishes including plantains. Next to the salad bar is the meat selection. You can choose from the grand quality of poultry, lamb or red meat. After you have all your food there is a counter where your plate is weight and then you can sit down and enjoy your feast. Once you're done eating you can pay at the cashier counter; at the counter they will give you the total of everything you ate. Do not be SCARE because it is not expensive at all; I went there with two friends and our total was $52 dollars (and that included the tip WOW). P.S. the staff there is very friendly and patient. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and was great by a young staff member who shook my hand. Even though it is a mundane gesture I was taken aback because it felt like a genuine welcome to their establishment. read more

Let me help you. It's a buffet an you weigh each plate after you get it. Ask for the BBQ, this is where they cut meat off the spit for you like at the $50/person steakhouses. Except that my grand total was $13. And I was stuffed! This is the best and freshest Brazilian food I've had since my last time in Sa Paulo and Campinas. The rodizio was good but I've had better where the meat is served to each table The seafood salad was definitely the best side among all the sides in the salad buffet. The croquettes were pretty good too. They have it set it up where you go to the salad buffet then get meat but by the time you get meat, you don't get that much because you filled up your plate with sides which basically saves them money. Anyway, the servers are awesome! They are quick to clean and take your plates after you are done. They sang happy birthday which was really nice and it surprised my husband. The best Brazilian food in Newark, hands down! We brought our own bottle of wine (bought on Ferry St) and spent $20 for the both of us. The big difference from the other great array of Brazilian spots in Newark? Everything was FRESH. Most buffet style restaurants you can taste the older food mixed in with the fresh. Not done here. I love this place!!!! This is probably the fifth time I was there and I did not disappoint. I love their buffet with all the hot fixings that are natural from Minas Gerais state. Okra with angu( Brazilian polenta ) vinaigrette, farofa and my favorite fried sweet bananas. After you load up on this stop at the carving station for a nice juicy slice of picanha or short ribs. This place is awesome! Just a few miles from Newark, I plan to go back as often as I can. They have a great buffet of Brazilian foods and meat. Personally, I like the more traditional Brazilian dishes like bean and rice (they had 4 different types of beans), collard greens, potato salad, meatballs, friend eggplant, Tilapia and a ton of other awesome stuff. You also have access to all you can eat Brazilian BBQ! I tried bacon wrapped chicken, sausage and thin slices of tri tip and chicken hearts (served with amazing grilled pineapple). All was perfect! It comes a with a drink and dessert. Service was fantastic. Seemed like a lot of locals hanging out. I had a guarana drink and desert which added about $5-6 to the total. I liked the ambiance of the place and the staff was nice to me. Authentic Brazilian food from the state of Minas Gerais, served with 'churrasco' -- charcoal roasted meats, including beef, pork, chicken, and sausage. They do not serve 'rodizio', like most Brazilian 'Churrascarias', but they have an all-you-can-eat buffet option that includes churrasco and a soda, Monday through Friday, at a very reasonable price. The deal is only for dine-ins, and sharing or taking dog bags home is not allowed. Even so, I think it's a great deal. Paying by the pound will actually cost you more, unless you are on a diet, but then a Brazilian restaurant wouldn't be the right place to dine anyway, would it? Week-ends are more expensive, but if that's the only time you can go out, I still think it's worth splurging on tasty food from the Minas cuisine every once in a while. The ambiance is great, and there is a good number of tables, but it can get a bit loud at times, especially if they are watching a soccer match. I try to avoid it when I see that it's the case. Went there a few times. Great food and all you can eat. Weekends are $27.99 and weekdays are 14.99 or so. Or you could just pay for what you eat if you easy less. I do think they are MSG fans though. Great service and 18% gratuity is added to your bill like it or not. 2 rooms, one has a loud band for those who like to talk over it and one room is quieter with the sound of the music in the 1st room. Pay attention to the bill when you get it like in any alcohol serving place Ex: 2 plates " my bill " 1: 0.42lbs - $5.88 2: 0.84lbs - $13.43 and not $11.76 Double in weight should be double in price. But it wasn't. ( maybe I don't understand that) but it was enough to say I'm not coming back. Try it out for yourself. It's a good time. Just watch the bill. One of my favorite places in the Ironbound! It's a simple laid back place, not like the other restaurants in the Ironbound. All food (buffet style) is fresh! Tastes like delicious home made food! Once you enter the restaurant, there's usually someone to assign you a table. He'll ask you if you want anything to drink. Once you've placed your things down, you're ready to start grabbing food! You can choose from different types of salads from the cold salad bar and hot food bar. The hot food bar typically consists of traditional Brazilian dishes (including feijao tropeiro, farofa, feijoada, lasagna, polenta, carne moida, etc) You can also choose freshly grilled meat from the grill. At the grill, you ask the server for the type of meat you want and he'll cut it off right into your plate. You can usually choose from top sirloin (picanha), chicken wrapped in bacon, ribs, Linguica (Brazilian sausage), Chicken hearts (a Brazilian delicacy), skirt steak and chicken legs. Once your done choosing, you take it to the food counter where they will WEIGH YOUR PLATE BY THE POUND and where she will give you a number tag. Once you're done eating your meal, don't forget dessert! They have a small fridge with some really good Brazilian desserts! Beans were dry, rice undercooked, meat tasteless and dry, chicken had no flavor, fried yuca very dry as well. It's the fourth time I order and food is bad. My favorite place for lunch!! Have visited this hidden gem over 10 times in the past year. My colleagues call this place "By The Pound" because your food is weighed. So, you pay for what you eat. Its Brazilian (not Portuguese)and Its a buffet style but cooked fresh - the kitchen is right in front of you. I also went in there with a bottle of Pinor Noir (its a BYOB establishment). And we enjoyed the atmosphere. Very accommodating. It was a little too bright in there and its nothing fancy, but you will go back for the food definitely.
